The Railway Inn

On arrival, gave our room key and shown entrance when pub shut how to use everything etc. Put in a room which was fine but had tape down across the floor to the bathroom. When we asked for towels, Tommy apologised and said we should not even be in that room, so he helped my husband move to a bigger and better room. Tommy could not do enough for us. Breakfast has lots of choices. You just have to ask as there's no menu. Again Tommy brilliant with service and prompt delivery. A very happy chap. Id suggest a pot of sauces on the table for breakfast as its "can we have, have you got" all the time. Tommy stood out as a fantastic member of staff always polite and worked very hard.always a pleasure. Thank you Our room was very cold at night no heating on except set times so pleased that we had a hot water bottle, but we both had to wear clothes to get warm. When spoke to other residents they said the same.(No phone in the room to call anyone) Room smelt musty so could do with maybe a freshener plug in? The bathroom needs a table or some shelves as there is nowhere to put your wash bags down apart from the floor, and im not a fan of that! There could do with maybe a few more hooks in the bathroom too. 1 on the door is not enough. The room was tired, needs a freshen up on the paint and wall paper, beds comfy, lots of wardrobe hanging spaces, mirrors. Enjoyed our stay. Reasonable price too.

The breakfast was fab and very service

The staff were super, friendly polite and efficient. Food was excellent. Room very clean and comfortable. Will definitely recommend and use again.

The hotel is dated and due to be renovated over the next few months I believe. But even so, it was a pleasant stay and the location perfect for my needs. Bar was lovely and breakfast included is always a bonus.

Windows were stuck open, no heating in my room and the food was awful.

The food was excellent, breakfast which was included was enormous, We ate dinner there one night and the food was very good with large portions. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times, for a 3 star hotel i cannot fault out stay

Communal areas were a bit tired, but the room itself was in good condition - clean and comfortable. Food was really nice, and the location was good for local walking and visits. Very friendly staff too!

Good base for Brixham and close to the park and ride. By the steam train so easy to walk across to that. Good restaurant menu and very helpful staff. Was quiet at night. Comfortable bed.

Stayed here for work. The room was very dirty. You can see the cleaner did bare minimum. Didn’t get to try the breakfast as it did not start till 8:30 and I left at 8. I did mention this to the staff member and there was no offer to accommodate. I didn’t eat here I ate somewhere else. Trying to get out on the main road was also a nightmare.

The staff are lovely, food is great, the facilities are a little tired. Very convenient for bus route into all the towns, very friendly people.

Clean but not enough shower gel and the room door was a fiddle to lock properly. Parking was good and felt safe. Food was good but having booked and paid for breakfast to find out if wasn’t served until well after I left for work was irksome. On my checkin night at 9pm, I was ‘encouraged’ to leave the bar and take my drink to my room. This alone is enough for me to avoid booking this accommodation again despite the good proximity to my office.

Very friendly staff, comfortable room and freshly cooked breakfast. Very convenient bus service into and around Torbay.
