The Sea Hotel

We started off having a drink in the sports bar..booked into our room which was small but very clean..booked a table for evening meal.the food was absolutely lovely.the staff was so friendly and easy to talk to..breakfast was really nice .. a very nice stay comfy bed ..will be booking back up

Whilst the accommodation is basic, it’s comfortable and well located by the sea front in Shields. A few minor irks could be easily improved upon ( luke warm tea for breakfast, instant coffee!!! , not even filtered, full breakfast is good, but a smaller portion of beans would do most people) . Otherwise it’s value for money

It could do with a bit more attention around the back of the bed and cupboard as it was a little bit dusty, but other than that the room was very clean. Bathroom was very clean. I couldn't work out how to turn on the tv, so i left it and watched YouTube on my phone. The breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. Shelley, the bar staff was helpful also, she is a credit to your team. I would stay there again in the future.

The restaurant was fine, staff were friendly and helpful, food was satisfactory. Man on reception when I checked in was very friendly. My room on the other hand was not at all like the pictures. It was in need of a good refresh. The bedroom was ok for the one night that I was staying there. But, the bathroom was really shabby. Stained toilet, sink and bath, really grubby looking. I didn't notice the bath and shower until I went to use it the next morning. It was dirty, dust all around the sides, hair in the bottom of the bath and on the shower head, clearly not been cleaned. This was reported to the reception but was too late to do anything about it as I was checking out.

The room was a good size but smelled badly. We opened the windows which did clear it eventually. Found someone else's deodorant on the floor under the desk. The staff are very nice. Car park is free and always had spaces. Great location for the sea front. We had hreakfast off-site so can't comment on that.

Good parking for the area. Reception, restaurant and bar have had a referb but rooms are in need of complete referb. On arrival our bathroom had not been cleaned and in a bit of a state, ( not very happy 🤔) however we went to reception to complain, Stuart the receptionist was first class very polite and apologetic and found us another room. Good breakfast. Again I point out that the rooms are in need of a good overhaul.

Lovely hotel, a little dated but clean and lovely staff

Staff very friendly but the Hotel is not clean, carpet areas are dirty.The room was a single and again carpet was dirty and the room looked very tired. I had stayed here years ago and its been taken over by new management/owners so not the same standard as before. I opted to stay here over others in the area and regret it.

The room was basic, but clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful (the bearded gentleman on reception helped me connect to hotel WiFi). The room was also cleaned promptly and towels changed. The walls were rather thin, and I was disappointed that, out of season, with the hotel obviously not very full, they put a father and son in the room next to mine. The child was quite noisy and boisterous, so there was a lot of banging (he was probably hyped up on sugar, since they'd brought McDonald's meals back to their room). The bathroom had a good, powerful shower. The toilet had rather a weak flush and didn't cope well with toilet paper. They really let themselves down with the breakfasts. The first morning I had the full English, which was lukewarm, with tasteless mushrooms and half a pale tomato. The toast was barely toasted - I would say it was like warm bread, but it wasn't warm either. The second morning I had a ham and cheese omelette, which was overcooked, very salty, with cheap cheese. It's not bad for the price, but if I stayed again I'd book a room without breakfast.

Really friendly and helpful staff. The guy on reception was fantastic. Room very nice and hotel in a great location.

Felt like staying in a prison cell. Filthy, noisy extremely. Meant to have sports bar but closed
