Victoria Park Hotel

Bed was a little lumpy but didn't stop us sleeping. Place is a bit tired and seems to be a bit of a hotel / hallway house. A few characters having a ciggy outside but they didn't cause any noise or anything later when we got back from a night in Derby. At the end of the day it was really cheap and included breakfast. The host was a chap who was very polite and couldn't do enough for you.

Nice reception, friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean but decor and furniture is dated. Toilet /shower room is shared but clean though dated. Wifi and fridge is a bonus.

Excellent host, a few minor maintenance needs but overall we enjoyed the stay. There is a excellent pub, Indian and Chinese restaurant within walking distance. Good quality English breakfast served by staff who made you feel welcome.

Cheap, cheerful and clean with pleasant staff. The bed was so comfortable that on my first night I had the best night's sleep I'd had for ages!

A team of two men stayed here and walked out due to the condition of the property. It was dirty, smelly and had permanent residents staying there which looked like they had issues with substance abuse. Room doors look like they had been kicked in numerous times. If you are thinking about booked here as a lone person or a family I would urge you to think again!

Had a good overnight stay. Our room not ensuite, but it was ok. Place was clean. Respectful and kindly host. Great breakfast!

Lovely 2 night stay at Victoria Park, the room and the hotel were very clean. The hotel it’s self is an old building which could be a little bit more maintained. The only downside is that there are no ensuit rooms but there are plenty of bathrooms/toilets around. I never had to wait for a bathroom and they were all very clean. The breakfast was delicious with lots to chose from. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is onsite and parking and it took us about 15 mins to walk in to town. Would definitely stay again.

Great service. Cosy room with kettle, tea and coffee, small fridge. Definitely would stay there again.

Loose handrail leading to entry to begin with. Mould in bathroom Loose shower shelf Cobwebs on bedroom ceiling and lampshade Unable to access snack/drink machine after 8pm Breakfast only served till 8am Also food quality poor with soggy hash brown and no alternative offered for cooked breakfast items not liked. No bar Holmless/ migrant occupation too . Website photos are misleading to say least

Location (20 minutes walk to Town) - close enough, yet far enough away not to be disturbed by the noise. Superb breakfast. Clean rooms (fully equipped with microwave, fridge, large TV, sink) and very clean large shower rooms (there are 3 upstairs, so availability isn't an issue). All staff very pleasant and helpful. Lots of parking. We'll definitely stay again.

Very comfortable had all amenities would visit again

The room was small but comfortable. Sadly no sower or loo, that was over the corridor not whats expected these days. Also breakfast was early even on a sunday 7.30 til 9 and checkout by 10. The breakfast was ok though and staff friendly. Work clearly been done to improve the place.

I liked the parking behind the property. However, I didn't like that the bedroom door locked when you popped to the loo & there was no way to 'latch' it or prop it open.

The hotel staff were friendly & as helpful as can be but the shared toilet/bathroom stunk of stale urine constantly. Pubic hair on toilet seat, dirty I flushed toilet. Toilet and bathroom very bad odour. It will need deep cleaning. The bedroom was aLao smelly and small with just enough space to walk around the bed. Breakfast was served up to 8am, which meant you had to wake up very early to have breakfast. Extending breakfast until 9am will be beneficial.
