We absolutely loved our stay and will be happily returning! The whole stay was amazing and we only wish we could have stayed longer this time. We were also impressed with the breakfast options and service. All in all, clean, quiet, cozy and charming! Thank you so much!

Met by Jackie and Margaret who made us very welcomed, showed us to our room, a light and airy one with very comfortable beds, large bathroom with superb shower. Choices for breakfast ranged from English full fat boy to French Croissants with a variety of fruits, water and juices to set us up for the day

We spent a lovely three nights at Villa Rothsay Hotel in the Morning Cloud room. The room was excellent, with a fantastic view over The Solent. The service was brilliant and the breakfast plentiful and top quality. Highly recommended.

Magnificent setting, authentic period detail décor and ambiance, wonderfully comfortable rooms and common areas, and proprietor so generous and knowledgeable and helpful. So great, we're grateful for everything

Stayed for one night and loved this hotel. So peaceful and fantastic view from our room. Room was big and spacious. Plenty of towels tea and coffee with biscuits. Margaret the host was amazing and couldn't do enough for you. Her knowledge was boundless and any questions we had she was happy to answer and we learned things about the island we didn't know. She is a absolute whizz at sorting out the TV too which we couldn't work out. Breakfast was great. So much food and everything you could want. The young man who looked after us at breakfast was very attentive and again nothing was to much trouble. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again in the future. Thank you Margaret for a wonderful stay.

OMG what a gem! I almost don’t want to share an opinion on the Villa Rothsay because I want to keep it for myself. Absolutely perfect in every way. But quirky and mysterious with amazing history. Our room was beautiful with seaview. We slept with the curtains open so as not to miss any waking moment. Margaret was welcoming and so knowledgeable. Breakfast was delicious. Local produce - no UPFs here - Villa Rothsay preserves. Just beautiful. We were fortunate to have been there for the first day of Advent and the Christmas decorations were out of this world. I really didn’t want to leave.

View from our room and balcony were exceptional. Breakfast quality and service was 5 star. Our host Margaret gave a friendly, professional and exceptional experience that made our trip memorable. Villa Rothsay an amazing find would thoroughly recommend.

The Villa is beautiful and well located. It is charming and our hosts were helpful and welcoming. Our room had beautiful furniture and a stunning view. There was a lot of noise from the room above us - creaking floorboards, footsteps, conversation which was not deliberately loud. In older character buildings it is likely. The large bed had a very firm mattress which I struggled to sleep on and the pillows need replacing. The bath was lovely and filled quickly. Breakfast was good, particularly the fresh fruit. We were made very welcome and Villa Rothsay is charming.

A great location looking out over the Solent. Easy to drive to town or walk. Margaret a delight. Excellent breakfast. Bathroom old but satisfactory. Lots of yachting pictures & books, lots of old-world charm. Lots of stairs both outside & in.

Friendly staff and lovingly decorated large house with many interesting testimonies of interesting sailing events.

Lovely quirky hotel. Very quiet. Comfortable beds, room nicely decorated and equipped. Very much appreciated the ‘honesty’ bar after an evening out. Staff were very friendly and helpful too.

We really enjoyed our stay at this late 19th / early 20th century property. Decor not modern but very unique which enhanced our experience. Staff were welcoming, helpful, and friendly. Room was clean and well presented. I'm sure Robert Plant, who recently was a guest, enjoyed his stay as much as we did. If we visit the Isle of Wight again we'll be staying here.

Lovey place to stay with wonderful personality. Friendly staff and super comfy room. And a lovely breakfast!
