From a very experienced traveller who doesn’t leave reviews unless it’s necessary - the service here was awful . Upon checking in the lady on reception was polite and good at her job . Later I discovered only 1 set of towels were provided in the room for 2 adults ! No phone in the room to contact reception about it , I called from my smartphone but no extensions put me through to reception . Walked down to reception , nobody working . Asked in their restaurant for a receptionist and the one lady working there came over after pulling a pint for someone , gave me the towels ( and also to another couple who had the exact same problem ) . Walking back to the room I passed a room were a family were complaining to the receptionist and asking to speak to the manager over something ! Went to the gym at 18:30 as it closes at 20:00. Staff at entrance immediately warning me to be out for 19:45 ( because they want to be away by 20:00 when this is a closing time for customers / clients ) Went to the pool area for a ‘ relaxing’ swim steam and sauna at 19:20 . The same staff ruining it by reminding me to be out by 19:45 !! I get into the pool area and the man working at the pool tells me it’s closing at 19:30 …again because the staff seem to think that the 20:00 closing time is the time for them to be able to leave when it’s clearly a customer notice . Terrible and needs to be managed !

Room in poor condition considering the price was more like 2 star rating. Food good and staff very friendly but got breakfast elsewhere as we’re charging £17.50 for it here! Overall

Staff were lovely but the room was a bit dated and could do with a refresh Shower didn’t have enough power. Only one bath towel and one hand towel provided despite having a reservation for two people.

Firstly, I was given a 'disabled' room which meant the bath was far too small for the average person to use. The stability bar in the shower is then too close to the shower head to have a comfortable shower. The systern drips for about 20 minutes after flushing the toilet, so I have to close the bathroom door each time. The bed sheets are too small for the bed. the mattress was exposed under the pillows. The room, being on the ground floor and at the front of the hotel meant that I couldn't put the blind up due to the lack of privacy. The window didn't have net curtains either. Sitting at the desk to work was an issue due to the lack of plug sockets near the desk. Breakfast is ok, although the scrambled egg was hard - and that was at the beginning of service. The room and hotel is quite tatty and not to the standard of other Village Hotels that I have stayed in. The only positive was that the TV in the room was quite big and it worked! I wont be recommending this hotel and wont be returning

Disabled parking spaces were being used by Spuddies customers who were using the takeaway. Struggled to find a space in car park and had difficulty getting out of car because of my disability. Quite a distance to hotel from car park. I got the impression that the Gym and Fitness Facilities are the part of the business that is making most money and the hotel is suffering because of this. I detest Self Check In, no service at all in a service industry? I guess thats the world we live in now. I wouldnt recommend nor return to this hotel, it pretends to be something that it isnt.
