I didn’t like the lack of knowledge of the reception staff about booking with expedia. I resented the fact that my credit card details were asked to verify my booking on the day of checking out. They had all week to do that. I had to show them the receipt on expedia account on my mobile.

It's the end of winter time and the rooms were cold. The hot water does not come on after 11pm sometimes. It's only one key so housekeeping can't clean your room when you are out. Walls are very thin because I can hear chatter. Staff are quite lovely, helpful and friendly. Food is very good. Location is ideal for going to your business meeting or for site seeing this beautiful city Addis Ababa.... Lots of incredible history to soak in for the first time.

Hotellet ligger i en grøn oase og bygningerne er smagfulde. Man kommer ind i et dejligt nedkølet hotel. De gav mig en virkelig tidlig indtjekning. Jeg kunne godt sove i sengen, men det så ud som om, de var ved at skifte sengene ud. Morgenmaden var traditionel etiopisk. Lækkert personale. Fjernsynet reagerede ikke. Internettet virkede stabilt. Jeg tror jeg vil bruge det en anden gang. Der er udendørs svømmehal lige uden for. Tæt på 4 stjerner.

This is my second time staying at Ghion. I like that it's traditional in appearance and fantastic staff. Food was wonderful. Thank you.

I had a very disappointing experience during my recent stay at Ghion Hotel. • Day One: The room assigned to me had no hot water. As usual, I was advised to let the water run for some time. Despite running the bathtub for nearly two hours, no hot water came, and I was forced to bathe in freezing cold water. • Day Two: I was moved to another room, but the toilet did not flush. • Later Stay: After returning from a trip, I was given a room where the toilet burst and water flooded the entire room while I was away. I was then moved again to a different room, which also had no hot water and a non-functional toilet. I am a frequent guest at Ghion Hotel, but in its current condition, I strongly urge Expedia to reconsider listing it on their platform. I also request a full refund for this stay due to the unacceptable conditions and repeated inconveniences. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Room poor needs attention,.from broken mirror, door handels and curtain unable.to open and close entually falling to.thr.floor...Usually had to wait up to 20 minutes for hot water.

More to be done

This hotel is excellent for those of us who love Ethiopia and prefer peaceful, nostalgic atmosphere to fancy, noisy modern hotels. Good old Ethiopian style hotel with a huge and quiet compound with large swimming pool, in the heart of the city. Stable water supply, electricity and Wifi with satisfying speed. Fair room rates. In every way a very pleasant stay. Take the opportunity to experience this classic hotel before it's gone!

Sehr schönes und sauberes Zimmer. Parkanlage war auch sehr schön. Expedia sollte die Hotelbeschreibung anpassen: Tennisanlage nicht vorhanden, Fitnessstudio gehört nicht dem Hotel an, sondern wird privat geführt. Nur gegen eine monatliche Mitgliedschaft nutzbar. Warmwasser selten vorhanden. Das Ghion Hotel muss unbedingt am Management arbeiten und sich verbessern. Zum einen war trotz 2-maliger schriftlicher Benachrichtigung der kostenfreie Flughafen Shuttle Bus nicht da. Mitten in der Nacht mussten wir ein Taxi selber organisieren, telefonisch war niemand zu erreichen. Dort angekommen, war zunächst einmal alles dunkel, erst als das Taxi vorfuhr, kam der Portier, um die Tür zu öffnen. Erste Frage: haben Sie gebucht? Wir konnten dies bestätigen, dass wir vor 4 Monaten gebucht und eine Bestätigung des Hotels bekommen hatten. Zur Antwort kam: wir haben kein Zimmer frei. Erst nach langer Diskussion ist der Manager gekommen und hat uns ein schreckliches Zimmer für die Nacht gegeben. Wir haben später verstanden, dass es wohl daran liegen musste, dass die Afrikanische Union zum Zeitpunkt eine Versammlung hatte und die Zimmer (wir hatten eine Suite gebucht) doppelt verkauft wurden. Nach Beendigung der AU Versammlung, kam der Baustellenlärm hinzu. Die Bauarbeiten in der Hotel-Parkanlage gingen 24 Stunden, so dass man in der Nacht kein Schlaf fand. Nachdem wir (und andere Hotelgäste) uns beschwert hatten, reduzierte sich am 3. Tag der Baustellenlärm auf die Zeiten 7:00 bis 22:00 Uhr.

I tried to call them from Japan because I wanted to make sure that the shuttle bus would come to the airport to pick me up . However, the phone numbers are old, and I have never got to reach them. Shuttle bus never showed up when I have arrived at the airport despite the fact I have booked the shuttle service when I booked the room on this hotel. I am no satisfied with this hotel service

This hotel needs some renovation every thing looks older than 100 years old.

到着時の空港送迎で1時間以上も待ったのが残念。 レセプションのスタッフも英語が話せる人とそうでない人の差が激しい。 ホットシャワーも出ると言われたがほぼ水でシャワーを浴びるのが辛かった。
