The Fiji Orchid

The Fiji Orchid is a lovely relaxed hotel with 6 villas tucked amongst lush greens. The staff are incredibly warm and helpful. There is no useable beach nearby and you need a vehicle to go anywhere off the property but it’s near 2 towns and several attractions. There is always someone available to drive you. It’s very convenient to the airport so it’s a good choice for a few nights on the big island.

The property felt so remote but quaint. It is relaxation at its best.

Beautiful resort, very well maintained with excellent staff and good food. It is very quiet and nothing within walking distance so must arrange taxi if you want to leave the resort.

Just being in a hotel where Raymond Burr lived makes just makes you feel special. The furnishings and and the way that it ishe property is located in the rainforest

If you want to be away from the noise and business of too many tourists, this is the place to go. It's like a private tropical oasis. The grounds have beautiful trees and gardens that are well-kept. The bures give you the sense that you are glamping in the middle of the rainforest. Staff is excellent as well. They pick you up to/from the airport and top to bottom everyone knows your name and treats you like a VIP. Only one restaurant option, but the food is amazing. Paradise. Be aware that because of its gardens and location, there are wild life and animals roaming about: little frogs flood the path on rainy days, tropical insects and lizards, some semi-domesticated cats live(?) on the grounds, and there is a dog as well on the property.

This resort is an absolute pearl. Wonderful staff and the grounds and service were spectacular.

Excellent in all aspects

It’s the warmth, helpfulness, and friendliness of the staff that makes it so special here. Plus the ground and bures are beautiful. The meals were varied and delicious.

The personal atmosphere, the very kind stuff, the delicious food, the calmness and the design of the bure - just a perfect start to our holidays on Viti Levu. And I am afraid that we are spoiled because it can’t be better…

Your Bure, a private villa resembling a Fijian hut, is unique as beautiful. It’s spacious, clean and comfortable. Friendly and welcoming staff. Food from their restaurant is delicious. I wished I could have stayed longer.

We had an amazing stay at the Fiji Orchid. Everyone was so nice and helpful, nothing was too much. We had a tour booked early morning and would have missed the breakfast but they brought it directly to the bure early morning. It was our first time in Fiji and we wanted to try Kava so the team offered to do it in the evening for us. It was such a cultural experience getting to know the people and their traditions! Thank you Fiji Orchid team for making it a memorable stay.

The best thing about this property was the staff. Everyone from the manager to the gardeners were so friendly and courteous. The driver was awesome and took us wherever we wanted to go. We arrived as guests but left feeling like we were family.

A beautiful hiden gem

The Fiji Orchid was a great place to stay. Ledge and all the staff were amazing. They even made me acake and sang to me on my birthday. They took care of all our outings and transportation. Top notch staff and the grounds were beautiful.

The property is located in the middle of nowhere. There is a dirt road of about a mine leading to the property from the regular road with cows walking down that dirt road. The nearby beach is dirty and you still have to walk by the same dirt road to get to that beach. The beach that no one even uses because of its location and poor condition. The breakfast included in the rate is very limited. You can just get the same 2 eggs (still can choose how they are cooked), some fruit, limited coffee/tea, some bread. Very poor! Nothing more for free. You can get anything else for the extra price. It cannot be even compared to the regular breakfast buffet in normal hotels… very poor. The lunch and dinner is only available on the property (very limited and still pricy). There are no shops or any attractions nearby so if you don’t rent a car - you are stuck in the dusty jungle with absolutely nothing to do. The tour operators don t offer pick ups from this place. The pool doesn’t look clean at all. The dirt/grovel road is very close to the property so you can hear the cars passing by even at night and you get all the dust prom the road. The WiFi is in the room only! No cellular coverage on the territory. NO TV at all!!! I moved from that hotel on the second day of my stay to the Sheraton and saved my holiday by doing that! Asked the property to get some money back but never got anything! Really disappointed!!! It’s the first time I had to run from the hotel ASAP.

Very welcoming, lovely quiet, peaceful surrounds & accommodation. Beautiful tropical gardens.

While not every detail was perfect, the overall experience was definitely perfect. There were a few strange or missed communications in the run-up to my stay. There was a strange incident upon arrival where they had me sign a credit card receipt for someone else's credit card. But forget all that, because this is a beautiful, unique, friendly property and I absolutely loved my two night stay here. I wish it could have been longer. If you arrive at night, as I did, the full beauty of the property will not be immediately apparent, but sitting in your private bure in daylight surrounded by gorgeous flowering plants in a peaceful, secluded jungle --- it's just very special. The staff was so friendly. The food was quite good. The pool is beautiful and relaxing. And while the property is secluded, you are relatively close to the airport and some of the major attractions on the east side of the island. I really hope to return here one day.
