Nous passons chaque année à Argenton sur Creuse, nous avons essayé tous les hôtels et ceux des alentours. Mais, nous ne sommes jamais déçus par le Prieuré. L'accueil, la propreté, les petits-déjeuners sont top, rien ne manque, il y en a pour tous les goûts : sucré ou salé. De plus, on y mangent très bien, la cuisine du restaurant utilise des produits locaux, ce qu'on apprecie particulièrement, ainsi que le professionnalisme et la bonne humeur du personnel. Bref, une bonne adresse que je recommande.

after many stays over the years, this hotel remains a fine simple choice for the area around Argenton. clean, neat, good breakfast, excellent restaurant. a classic old fashioned good hotel.

La base c est la literie...refaire la facade c est bien mais la priorite c est de bien dormir...

Excellent little hotel with a very good restaurant, friendly helpful staff. Rooms slightly dated but clean and well maintained. Well stocked bar in a quiet little lounge off the restaurant. The addition of air conditioning, by far from ubiquitous in similar properties, was a godsend in the hot summer.

Hôtel agréable où on a bien dormi. Le personnel est très agréable. Merci pour ce séjour.

Probleme de wifi

C'est parfait pour un séjour de passage en voyage...

This is really a restaurant with rooms, this is quite a common feature in France especially close to the Motorway system. The idea being you break your journey from south to north or vice a versa, stop have a good meal with wine and after the meal there is a bedroom. We arrived just as the lunch service was being checked out a little early but we had made good progress on the motorway. A cursory here is your room key was followed by did you get my email, no, Oh the restaurant is closed tonight. I then checked my emails to see if there was one I had missed, no no email, I queried this with the hotel, who then blamed Hotels.com. I then asked was there anywhere which served food tonight! Thankfully the local Cafe in the town Centre served food and were very welcoming. Food was not the Haute cuisine we had hoped for but it was warm and wholesome. Back to bed for an early night as there was no service available. I know that the French do not have a high idea about the bathroom but this beats our all time record for bad design and compactness. I admit to being a large chap, but you had to be a contortionist to use the shower or the lavatory. The bathroom was shoe horned in to the minimum amount of space, yet you could have had a party in the unnecessary hanging space. Undaunted we headed for breakfast where we were pointed in to the breakfast room and left to our own devices. No contact at all. On check out the most junior person served us to get our money and we went.

Mauvais concours de circonstances. J avais réservé plusieurs semaines à l avance dans le cadre d un Road trip. J avais précisé souhaiter une chambre calme. Effet canicule entre temps. L hôtel m avait informé 10 jours avant mon séjour par mail que la clim dans les chambres étaient cassée. Nous étions les deuxièmes arrivants. Et une chambre sur parking m a été attribuée. Un ventilateur avait été installé dans la chambre. Mais impossible de garder les fenêtres fermées même avec un ventilateur. Nous avons donc dormi la fenêtre ouverte sur parking avec voitures partant tôt et réverbères allumés. J aurais pu ne rien dire mais … des chambres avec vue sur jardin existaient et auraient permis de dormir, un chien a gémit toute la nuit dans une chambre adjacente, et le patron que j ai vu au moment du paiement ne m a même pas demandé comment s était passé le séjour, ou proposé un geste commercial. En résumé les moins sont les équipements et le patron. Les plus sont le reste du personnel très agréable et avenant et la carte du restaurant.

Belle étape gourmande. A ne pas manquer le restaurant de l'hôtel et sa célèbre poule noire du Berry avec sa sauce aux truffes. Les chambres ont une excellente literie et les salles de bain sont fonctionnelles et spacieuses. Un excellent rapport qualité prix pour l'ensemble.

Notre chambre etait tres bien et très propre. La literie parfaite. Juste peut-être prevoir un rideau pour la sdb wc car ouverte.
