Charlestina Beach Resort

One of the best places to stay along the West African coast. The service is second to none. The rooms are clean, The food is excellent and most importantly there is a great variety of local Ghanaian cuisine- I strongly recommend the Red/red ( fried plantain and beans). The icing on the cake is the crisp, clean Ocean which is just metres away from your room!

Yes good breakfast on the beach. Pool was nice . Staff were very friendly and helpful. Resort had a lovely ambience and beautiful surroundings, turkeys , morning birds for the flowers , variety of trees , etc. Beach is not ideal for swimming but one can access a nearby beach next door. Driver accomodation was a bit expensive.

Nice place to stay on the beach, gps directions to the place is not good at all, you have to call hotel for guidance. Road leading to hotel is very bad...beds are hard but beautiful place, security is good, food there is affordable and good..no night time entertainment

The only problem with Charlestina,...is getting to it!. The road to the resort is terrible... and if i didn't know what a great place it is to stay, I would never go there. The food is very good, staff are attentive but not annoying, rooms are clean and comfortable, the grounds are pleasant and clean. Safe & secure!

This is one of the most beautiful resorts I have been to in Ghana.

DOWNSIDE: The dinner service was awful in every aspect of the word. Despite putting in our orders two and a half hours early, the dinner came out 4 hours later and was totally not edible. Food was cold, had no taste and all came out sporadically, some half hour later. Approached owner to state the hunger situation and he just said it takes time with no offer of sympathy for the children waiting. Cocktails were also very poor with no taste to them. UPSIDE: Breakfast was great with limits to how much you could enjoy. Pancakes were amazing and omelettes. No tasting faults with brekky at all. Check in staff was pleasant. Owner Charles also came to welcome us. Matthew who seemed to be everywhere doing multiple roles was amazing, he was polite, warm and very accommodating to our needs. Great site for watching and hearing the fishermen sing as they bring their loads of fish In. Amazingly a place of tranquility. Perfect if they sort their dinner time out.

Nice and quiet place, a very relaxing atmosphere. Staff are nice and friendly.

The physical site was satisfactory, except for an inadequate supply of soap in the room. The restaurant staff was courteous. The owner/manager staff was curt and discourtegous. Management refused to speak with customer instead requiring customer to communicate via a staff representative. The owner/manager refused to make any accommodations for the customer's needs for an additional night due to customer's motor vehicle breakdown. After numerous & unsatisfactory communications with the owner/manager's intermediary, the customer decided to check out of Charlestina & to secure alternative accommodations. At that point, the owner/manager's intermediary informed customer to check out within 15 minutes or to be subject to a late fee. Note -during this entire discourse, Charlestina had no electrical service, air conditioning or hot water, i.e. conditions about which the customer had never complained and about which Charlestina never acknowledged, apologized, or offered any gratituity.

Their facility is nice and are spaciously. The food was expensive but not delicious.

It would have been nice to have used the pool and although the beach looked lovely, there was a bit of rubbish around. The owner was pleasant. Most staff were helpful.

The access road is very poor.

We had a nice stay, with fulfilled our demands. Staff was polite and friendly. Only small disappointment was the breakfast on the last day. The first two days, the selection was okay, unfortunately the last day the selection was not good.

Really nice quiet place to spend the weekend. Seafront is excellent. The sea i so clean and blue. Excellent swimming pool. Great local cuisine especially the Kontomire stew!! Will surely be back!

The property was amazing. Wish the drinks were better but the facility was great.
