Erata Hotel

The facility was great, but what was unexpected was the high standard of hospitality. The hospitality standard is more on par with what you would see at a five star hotel in other places in the world. It was truly impressive. The rooms are nice, clean, and very comfortable. The location was excellent, directly across the street from the University of Ghana. If my travels take me to this area again I will definitely be staying here.

Plus: The rooms were basic, but spacious. AC worked ok, shower had pressure. Reception staff ok, but not welcoming or friendly. Bar soap provided, no shampoo provided. Minus: No response from hotel via their website when requesting to use free shuttle pickup from airport. (Other members of our group who arrived earlier, made the arrangements for us.--but we didn't know that until we arrived.) Cost of room not a good value for the quality of accommodations. The floors in room were shiny, but actually quite dirty--walked in bare feet and soles were black! (rest of room, bathroom, were clean.) No top sheet provided, asked for one, but it never arrived. We stripped the other bed for a top sheet. Food was mediocre, very slow and erratic to arrive (large portions, though). Restaurant staff (one person) slow. Restaurant dimly lit at night. This is not a hotel to "hang out" in. Sleep there and move on. Neighborhood was not walkable. Although only a few miles from airport, heavy traffic took more time--need to consider this for flight timing.

Staff very helpful and it is convenient to airport. Food nice.

The hotel was not very clean--the bathrooms were quite dirty, as were the common spaces. The staff were not particularly friendly or helpful.
