Alkyon Hotel

Overcrowded pool area was the biggest disappointment - there is nowhere near enough space to accommodate the number guests they have - it is crying out for an extension to the decking area around the pool and hence the number of sun beds could be increased from the handful they now have.

Right on water near many restaurants and across from town. Very convenient.

There’s much to like about the hotel aside from its ideal location near the port, airport and Skiathos town. We received complementary drinks upon our check in and a complimentary bottle of wine if we dined at the hotel restaurant next door, (which we did); food and service was excellent there. Rooftop hot buffet breakfast was top-notch and had a great view of the harbor. Room decor seemed a bit dated but the beds were comfortable and room was clean overall. Pool area was rather small and lots of families were using it— the hotel was the first that I’ve seen to have its own pool lifeguard. Lobby area was spacious, clean, and had a bar with table side service. I would stay here again given the chance.

Modernt och bra hotell i Skiathos stad med en excellent service och mycket bra frukost. Eftersom vi bara bodde en natt misstänker jag att det var orsaken till att vi hamnade på bottenvåningen vilket kanske inte är optimalt.

It's a beautiful hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. Very convenient position. Excellent breakfasts friendly staff. Disappointed that they couldn't accommodate our request to keep our room when our ferry was cancelled. Also there were ants in our room.

Friendliest welcome ever from Anna , Alexandra and Chris. They made us feel so welcome and always so helpful. Thank you. Hotel is within walking distance to town , restaurants and bus station . Very clean and breakfast great variety. Definitely recommend this hotel .

Esperienza più che positiva. L albergo è centralissimo e fornito di tutti i comfort; il servizio eccellente e la colazione perfetta. Abbiamo avuto un piccolo contrattempo all’ arrivo ma la manager della struttura Anna’ ha prontamente risolto l incoveniente e ci ha assistito per tutta la nostra permanenza assicurandosi che tutto funzionasse alla perfezione- tornerò a skiatos , isolo a splendida , e se troverò disponibilità di sicuro tornerò all’ alkion hotel

Breakfast is outstanding. Not the tidiest area and the pool a little on the small side, but the hotel is good o eraill and the staff most helpful

Lovely modern hotel. Very noisy though might have just because we had a room with sea view so right by the road and on the second floor so could hear the chairs getting moved about above us very early. Good for being right in the centre though. The sunbed hogging is terrible, towels on there from before 7am and half the time the people disappeared and were not actually in the hotel! Thos is something the hotel need to address.

Best view of the port. Strategically located on the boardwalk. Plenty of parking and close to main road and super market. Excellent staff, would return for sure.

Reception staff was nice, but administrative staff very unfriendly, making a major issue the fact that room was booked for family members but the person who made the reservation is not staying in the room, which has never been an issue in any other country/hotel. Staff offloaded failures with internal procedures and admin issues on the clients, as if the client making the booking for others (family members) did this with some illicit intents. This approach of sorting internal admin issues is not professional. The room was also below expectation compared to price (almost 200 eur night), pictures and room class - indicated as partial sea view in fact it was 95% backyard/car park view. Staff also delays checkin despite rooms being ready. Overall bad admin services and procedures for the level of hotel advertised (4 star).

Old hotel but well kept, close to the port and the airport. No beach in front of property, but there is bus stop 50 m away from where you can catch a bus. Breakfast was good, but only filter coffee and no fresh orange juice. I found the hotel to be overpriced.

Bra service, hjälpsamma och trevliga. Bra läge om man vill utgå från staden. Fantastisk frukost med utsikt över hamnen.

Be careful if you are booking this hotel. We booked a standard room for five nights 31 May to 5 June. We were promised a “balcony or terrace” but what we got was a basement room opening onto a communal playing-field area. Zero privacy, children running up and down in front of everyone’s rooms, noise, basically everyone on top of everyone else. We didn’t stay as the hotel was full and they could offer no alternative. We booked the Princess Skiathos Resort through Expedia and that was excellent. Alkyon put the room back on their website and it was gone within 24 hours. I asked for a reasonable refund given the hotel had misrepresented the details but the hotel manager claimed to have no power over such decisions and head office were no help whatsoever. Expedia, who we booked through, were excellent throughout; however they were unable to influence the hotel to give us a reasonable refund even though Alkyon had re-let the room. The hotel’s position in Skiathos town is excellent and if you don’t mind the proximity of other people right outside your room then I’m sure it’s fine. If you value your personal space, however, be very careful to check what you are actually getting. And don’t expect any help from management.

Selve hotellet er fantastisk. Men vi var så uheldige at være på hotellet under stormen Daniel.... Der havde vi 3 dage uden strøm eller vand, på grund af vand i kælderen. Til sidst blev vi evakueret til andet hotel. Dog var jeg lidt utilfreds med indtjekningen. Jeg havde skrevet nogle ønsker om at bo så højt som muligt og et ikke ryger værelse. Der var askebæger på balkonen og boede kun næst øverst. Og havde det bagerste værelse selv om jeg havde betalt for side hav kig og det var der ikke meget af.. Hotellet ligger dejligt i forhold til byen og vejen ud af byen, når man skal besøge andre strande på øen.
