Emporios Bay Hotel

Such a lovely place to stay in such a lovely town. Everything was perfect.

The picturesque setting on the Aegean Sea was amazing. The staff was so caring and willing to fulfill our very need. The continental breakfast had great local choices as well as other treats and beverages. We are building our house near by and will definitely have our overflow guests stay at Emporios Bay Hotel. A service and location!! Thank you Kampas family for the amazing experience.

Super clean and friendly. Quiet.

Hotel property was nice and clean. However staff was not welcoming. The room was spacious but you might as well have slept on the floor. The beds had the firmest mattress that we haven’t ever experienced! Upside, the buffet was delightful and worth the money. It had beautiful fresh fruit salad, vegetables, yogurt, cereals, scrambled eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, spanakopita, sweet breads, coffee and juice. That alone made up for the other shortfalls for me.

Very nice staff. But after a month in Greece that’s been my experience everywhere I’ve stayed or ate. Still the staff was great. Friendly efficient helpful. Easy parking on site. Cold AC. Comfortable bed. Mini fridge & hot plate even in the cheapest basic room. Good breakfast. Eggs scrambled or fried (one or the other my two days). Or hard boiled both days. Cheese and spinach pies. Cold cut meats and cheese. Some fruit, yogurt, cereal and a lot of pastries. Coffee & OJ of course. Good location, but if you’ve never been to Emporios it’s a tiny seaside village. So if you’re staying in the village you’re within a minute walk to everything else in the village including all 4 restaurants/tavernas. 5 minutes walk to the famous Mavra Volia beach. 5 minutes drive to the bigger seaside village of Komi. But most native Chians (from the north to the south) will recommend staying in Emporios over Komi. Most important to me, it’s also within a 10 to 40 minute drive of all the south Chios main attractions from the Mastic Museum (10 minutes away and I highly recommend) to the west coast. I was easily able to take my time visiting Pyrgi, Olympi, Mesta and three beaches all in a leisurely 7 hour day trip. So all the Mastichochoria villages and magnificent beaches are nearby. And Emporios is a really nice village to come home to. My only complaint was weak Wi-Fi in my room at the far end of the building. It was great everywhere else including just steps from my door.

The hotel is in a very quiet setting near a few restaurants around a small harbour. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice and the room extremely clean. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay a bit short due to ill-health but the owner was extremely understanding. We are really grateful to him for being so kind and would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a relaxing stay.

We were a family with two rooms booked and were upgraded to a new, seperate unit with two ajoining rooms. Rooms were nice, airy, clean, and comfy beds. Owners are a very nice family as were all staff. Best was the small town of Emporios and the drive to get there. We were last minute and ended up with Emporios Bay Hotel being one of the few accomodations avaliablein Chios. It is a 30-45 minute drive from the port but the hotel rented us a car (they have a travel agency also) that was waiting for us at the ferry terminal, and a winding, beautiful drive followed to Emporios Bay which is comprised of a few taverinas with delicious, fair priced, seafood overlooking a small bay and fishing pier. We spent our short time there eating, walking, and enjoying. I strongly encourage others to experience Emporios Bay and hope to return some day for a longer stay.

Wir waren zum zweiten Mal in diesem Hotel und empfinden es als Glücksgriff. Vielen Dank an Ilias & Giouli. Wir lieben den idyllischen Ort, den wunderschönen Vulkanstrand und die Taverne "Marias Garden". Außerdem gibt es auf dieser Insel viel zu sehen! Wir waren schon an vielen verschiedenen Orten in Griechenland, doch Emporios war ganz besonders! Die Menschen, die wir auf Chios kennenlernten, haben unser Leben bereichert! Danke an alle!

We spent fantastic day in this place! The hotel is located near the sea, in the heart of the village. Two amazing pebble beaches with crystal clear water in 7-10 min. walk from the hotel. It’s the kind of water that you dream to come back for. The hotel room is very spacious and clean. Bathroom facilities are in excellent condition. The room has a small kitchenette with cutlery, tableware, dishware, small cooker and fridge for those who prefer to cook their own food. Great view from the balcony to the garden! Near the hotel are several taverns, where you can have lunch or dinner (we have not tried so can’t recommend any). The owners and staff are friendly and hospitable, can give advises on where to go and even maps on hiking routs for those who are interested. Breakfast was delicious and nutritious. We really liked the generous breakfast buffet: omelette, bacon, cheeses, sausages, feta, fresh vegetables, fruits, Greek yogurt, homemade cakes, Greek herbal teas. The only disappointing thing was mattress - for our backs it was too hard. We are not sure we would be the same happy after second night on it. New modern Mastiha Museum is 7-10 min. away by car from the hotel, it welcomes all interested in the Chios’s history and culture, you will see with your own eyes how to grow and collect this mastic! It was our first time on Chios and we definitely recommend the hotel and its natural surroundings. If we are ever on Chios again, then for sure we will return to this place!

Lovely hotel in quiet little fishing village. Delicious breakfast, spacious room, good quality bedding. Good choice of restaurants a short stroll away.

The hotels location is excellent. It is close to Prygi, Komi and Mavra Volia. On the other hand the condition of the room is terrible especially the beds. The bed is really unconfortable and creating a lot of noise

Wir sind das dritte Mal ins Emporios Bay gekommen. Es ist jedesmal wieder schön, die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Da sie auch über ein Reisebüro und eine Autovermietung verfügen, ist man rundum bestens versorgt. Ein Mietwagen ist sehr empfehlenswert, um die Insel zu erkunden oder andere Strände aufzusuchen, obwohl der Strand vor Ort (schwarze Lavasteine, daher Badeschuhe empfehlenswert) wunderschön ist. Das Frühstück ist großartig und sehr umfangreich. Die Sauberkeit im Hotel ist besonders hervorzuheben. Für uns war es sehr schön, dass es relativ ruhig im Hotel war und die Zahl der Gäste überschaubar blieb, die Gastgeber hätten jedoch durchaus verdient, dass mehr ausländische Gäste kommen. Man kann das Hotel bestens empfehlen, wenn man auf Animation und Trubel verzichten kann.

The hotel was unbelieveable! Stuff, owner, pool, breakfast and especially rooms. It was really clean and well desinged. Additionally the owner of hotel is really helpful man. My car's gas was finished and I was in need someone to help me and he appeared and said you're staying at my hotel I know you do you need help and he helped us. I will absolutely come this hotel again!

Établissement honnête, familial, très propre, piscine... Plutôt pour des vacances familiales car malgré toutes ces qualités l'hôtel manque sensiblement de charme...
