We had a fabulous time at the cottages, it is so tranquil and the properties are beautiful and well equipped. Ioana was a fantastic host and gave us lots of great recommendations. Would say its not really walkable to the beach as the roads are steep and windy and not well lit so car needed. There are dining options within walking distance. Highly recommended.

Our Koutsounari Traditional Cottage was just that, traditional and cosy, quaint, and very clean. We had a small living area and kitchen, shower room with toilet and a double bedroom with a very comfortable bed and beautiful bedlinen. There was also a terrace with seating which we used for breakfast and evening drinks. There was air conditioning in the bedroom. Ioanna made us very welcome and gave us a map of the area highlighting restaurants, beaches, areas of interest, etc. She was incredibly helpful, warm and friendly. I would recommend the cottages to those looking for a traditional Cretan stay, but would not recommend for children as the wall on the terrace was low and there was a drop on the other side!

Wir waren als Paar für eine Woche vor Ort und es war einfach traumhaft. Vom Empfang mit vielen Ausflugs-Tipps, über die traditionellen Gebäude mit Blick aufs Meer bis hin zu den liebevoll eingerichteten Zimmern - Es war einfach herrlich. Die Terassen bieten Platz und sind einfach sehr toll zum entspannen oder sonnen. Die kleine Küche hat alles, was man braucht um sich auch selbst zu Verpflegen, fußläufig sind aber auch einige Restaurants. Strand nur wenige Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt oder ca. 15 Min zu Fuß. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und man sieht wie viel Arbeit drin steckt. Es ist so schön, wie auf den Bildern gezeigt. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

These cottages are well equipped and comfortable. The kitchen is small but has all needed to prepare a meal should you want to do that. We only used it for breakfast preferring to eat out in the evening. There is no easy access to the beach as the cottages are up a steep hill. Parking is mainly at the rear of the cottages, on street, but not difficult. It was particularly nice to site out on the terrace in the evening with a view over the village towards the sea. Everything in the cottage was spotlessly clean and neat and tidy and they have everything going for them. We only stayed for two nights and that was about enough for us but I can see it would be easy to make a longer holiday in these quirky and interesting cottages.

This is now my second stay at Koutsounari Traditional Cottages, and based on the wonderful time I had again I am confident it will not be my last! Koutsounari truly is a small slice of paradise on the already beautuful island of Crete, and Ioanna the property manager has created a unique and authentic Greek experience with the cottages. From the architecture to the interior decor, every detail is well thought out to create a traditional feel while still providing all the modern amenities we are accostomed to (wifi, climate control, etc.). The area itself is peaceful and quiet, and the beach, grocery store and dining options are all within walking distance. If your travels take you to this part of Crete, do yourself a favor and look into staying here, I know you won't be disappointed...

My stay was lovely, and this property is very unique - traditional cottages but with the feeling of modern comfort. It was driving distance to what ended up being my favorite beach in Crete, and Ioanna was a wonderful host, very helpful and accommodating, and it was lovely to spend some time chatting with her about the cool history of the property.

A really wonderful cottage in a very tranquil setting. I had an incredible view of the ocean. Very welcoming and friendly with great recommendations when I checked in really helped me plan during my stay. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything I needed. Lots of incredibly beautiful beaches nearby, and some excellent tavernas. Made friends with some the local cats. Highly recommend and would love to return one day!

Extremt trevlig ägarinna! Berättade massor om omgivningarna, tipsade och var otroligt behjälplig! Stället insåg var otroligt trevligt! Uteplatsen superfin med magisk utsikt, inredningen toppen! Kunde inte haft en bättre vistelse på östra kreta. Sen var ju den hemgjorda marmeladen vi bjöds på den bästa jag ätit!

If you are visiting the Irepetra area of Crete, you can of course stay at one of the fancy resorts right on the water. But if you want a truly unique and memorable experience, THIS is the place to stay. Authentic, traditional vibe with all the necessary modern amenities, quiet and relaxing atmosphere, within walking distance of many Tavernas AND the beach, and in my opinion a better view of the Libyan Sea. Plus Ioanna and her wonderful staff will take good care of you. If I could give it 6 stars I would - will definitely be returning here the next time I visit the area!!!

Très beau sejour, plages à proximité, Taverna a quelques minutes à pieds. L'hôtesse est de très bons conseils et très à l'écoute. La propreté est impeccable. La renovation de ces logements a été faites avec beaucoup de respect et de goût C'était un super sejour, nous reviendrons !

I visited Eoanna’s Traditional Cottages from New York and have only good things to say. The cottages are set in a small village and made of ancient greek architecture overlooking the ocean. We had stunning views right from our private roof terrace. Each cottage is slightly different, and there are less than ten, so there is a lot of privacy and peace and quiet. The cottages have great top-of-the-line amenities (like a Nespresso coffee maker), a small kitchen, living room, and bed room, perfect for some lone time with a significant other. One thing that really made our stay memorable was Eoanna, our host and owner of the Cottages. Eoanna was so friendly and welcoming, going out of her way to make us feel at home. She had lots of insider tips of things to do and helping with restaurant reservations. The Cottages are set in a small village Kousunari, a five minute walk from the beach and within walking distance to an abundance of great restaurants. The south of Crete was also a great choice for us, since it was far less touristy than the north. I can’t recommend this accommodation highly enough.

Personnes à mobilité réduite cependant s’abstenir car notre petite maison était sur trois niveaux avec des escaliers un peu périlleux. Superschöne, mit traditionellen Elementen eingerichtete Unterkunft mit eigener Terasse und allen Möglichkeiten, die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Koutsounari ist nicht so touristisch überlaufen wie viele andere Orte Kretas, der nahe gelegene Strand riesengroß und das Meer äußerst sauber. Die Unterkunft wird während des Aufenthalts regelmäßig gereinigt und der Empfang, die Auskünfte, Informationen und Gespräche von und mit Ioanna und ihrer Mutter waren sehr herzlich, interessant und hilfreich. Unbedingte und uneingeschränkte Empfehlung!

Ce cottage est fabuleux , constitué de maisonnettes magnifiques ou chacun a son intimité . La décoration est superbe et combine les matériaux rustiques avec une grande fonctionnalité . Chaque cottage a son propre espace extérieur et la plupart avec une superbe vue sur la mer de Lybie. Ces cottages sont d'une propreté remarquable et le ménage effectué trés réguliérement. Sur le plan du matériel , rien ne manque : ustensiles de cuisine , produits de salle de bain , séche cheveux , ... Même des chaises longues sont disponibles L'accueil de Ioanna a été fabuleux et tout était préparé à l'avance . En plus de sa gentillesse et la chaleur de son accueil , elle nous a fournit de précieux conseils sur les endroits à ne pas rater dans la région de Ierapetra.

These cottages are well equipped and comfortable. The kitchen is small but has all needed to prepare a meal should you want to do that. We only used it for breakfast preferring to eat out in the evening. There is no easy access to the beach as the cottages are up a steep hill. Parking is mainly at the rear of the cottages, on street, but not difficult. It was particularly nice to site out on the terrace in the evening with a view over the village towards the sea. Everything in the cottage was spotlessly clean and neat and tidy and they have everything going for them. We only stayed for two nights and that was about enough for us but I can see it would be easy to make a longer holiday in these quirky and interesting cottages.

We had a fabulous time at the cottages, it is so tranquil and the properties are beautiful and well equipped. Ioana was a fantastic host and gave us lots of great recommendations. Would say its not really walkable to the beach as the roads are steep and windy and not well lit so car needed. There are dining options within walking distance. Highly recommended.

Our Koutsounari Traditional Cottage was just that, traditional and cosy, quaint, and very clean. We had a small living area and kitchen, shower room with toilet and a double bedroom with a very comfortable bed and beautiful bedlinen. There was also a terrace with seating which we used for breakfast and evening drinks. There was air conditioning in the bedroom. Ioanna made us very welcome and gave us a map of the area highlighting restaurants, beaches, areas of interest, etc. She was incredibly helpful, warm and friendly. I would recommend the cottages to those looking for a traditional Cretan stay, but would not recommend for children as the wall on the terrace was low and there was a drop on the other side!

Wir waren als Paar für eine Woche vor Ort und es war einfach traumhaft. Vom Empfang mit vielen Ausflugs-Tipps, über die traditionellen Gebäude mit Blick aufs Meer bis hin zu den liebevoll eingerichteten Zimmern - Es war einfach herrlich. Die Terassen bieten Platz und sind einfach sehr toll zum entspannen oder sonnen. Die kleine Küche hat alles, was man braucht um sich auch selbst zu Verpflegen, fußläufig sind aber auch einige Restaurants. Strand nur wenige Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt oder ca. 15 Min zu Fuß. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und man sieht wie viel Arbeit drin steckt. Es ist so schön, wie auf den Bildern gezeigt. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

This is now my second stay at Koutsounari Traditional Cottages, and based on the wonderful time I had again I am confident it will not be my last! Koutsounari truly is a small slice of paradise on the already beautuful island of Crete, and Ioanna the property manager has created a unique and authentic Greek experience with the cottages. From the architecture to the interior decor, every detail is well thought out to create a traditional feel while still providing all the modern amenities we are accostomed to (wifi, climate control, etc.). The area itself is peaceful and quiet, and the beach, grocery store and dining options are all within walking distance. If your travels take you to this part of Crete, do yourself a favor and look into staying here, I know you won't be disappointed...

My stay was lovely, and this property is very unique - traditional cottages but with the feeling of modern comfort. It was driving distance to what ended up being my favorite beach in Crete, and Ioanna was a wonderful host, very helpful and accommodating, and it was lovely to spend some time chatting with her about the cool history of the property.

A really wonderful cottage in a very tranquil setting. I had an incredible view of the ocean. Very welcoming and friendly with great recommendations when I checked in really helped me plan during my stay. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything I needed. Lots of incredibly beautiful beaches nearby, and some excellent tavernas. Made friends with some the local cats. Highly recommend and would love to return one day!

Extremt trevlig ägarinna! Berättade massor om omgivningarna, tipsade och var otroligt behjälplig! Stället insåg var otroligt trevligt! Uteplatsen superfin med magisk utsikt, inredningen toppen! Kunde inte haft en bättre vistelse på östra kreta. Sen var ju den hemgjorda marmeladen vi bjöds på den bästa jag ätit!

If you are visiting the Irepetra area of Crete, you can of course stay at one of the fancy resorts right on the water. But if you want a truly unique and memorable experience, THIS is the place to stay. Authentic, traditional vibe with all the necessary modern amenities, quiet and relaxing atmosphere, within walking distance of many Tavernas AND the beach, and in my opinion a better view of the Libyan Sea. Plus Ioanna and her wonderful staff will take good care of you. If I could give it 6 stars I would - will definitely be returning here the next time I visit the area!!!

Très beau sejour, plages à proximité, Taverna a quelques minutes à pieds. L'hôtesse est de très bons conseils et très à l'écoute. La propreté est impeccable. La renovation de ces logements a été faites avec beaucoup de respect et de goût C'était un super sejour, nous reviendrons !

I visited Eoanna’s Traditional Cottages from New York and have only good things to say. The cottages are set in a small village and made of ancient greek architecture overlooking the ocean. We had stunning views right from our private roof terrace. Each cottage is slightly different, and there are less than ten, so there is a lot of privacy and peace and quiet. The cottages have great top-of-the-line amenities (like a Nespresso coffee maker), a small kitchen, living room, and bed room, perfect for some lone time with a significant other. One thing that really made our stay memorable was Eoanna, our host and owner of the Cottages. Eoanna was so friendly and welcoming, going out of her way to make us feel at home. She had lots of insider tips of things to do and helping with restaurant reservations.
