Beach and Lake Ayurvedic Resort

We had a fantastic 4 days at this resort. Everything was spectacular. From taking the little boat to dinner, to the gorgeous view from our room and balcony, to the people who were so kind and helpful to us, I can't say enough. I think the best part is that you are out of the hustle of the main beach area and in a serene and quiet backwater area. It's just a short ride to the beach shops and restaurants though. Also, be sure to take advantage of the Ayurvedic treatments and massage. It's like nothing we can get in the USA. Pushpa is my girl! She is small but mighty and I felt like $1M after a few treatments from her. Overall, this is an overlooked gem since Covid so it's time to get here while you can!

The hotel has a perfect view it’s so beautiful. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left it was amazing the staff were so welcoming and kind. They will do anything to help you. The only weird thing was when my friend came I had to pay additional for him(maybe this is common in India) but other than that this place is perfect accomodation perfect staff and perfect location

I believe I overpaid for a mediocre property (more than 7k/day). Reception and dining were very poor. Not enough space in the property to wander around. Food was an utter disappointment, but it had some sky rocketed price like a 4 star resort. Based on what I ordered, I recommend you to change your Chef. Apartment was compact and clean. Staff behavior was cool & pleasant. Didn't use Ayurvedic facility, so comment on that. Reception neither had the courtesy to welcome customers nor had the space that allowed the customers to be seated properly.

Property is nice And clean, but the area towards the sea is dirty.

Staff are very friendly and seafood was excellent ❤️💕🙏 And view of room is also amazing ❤️

Location is fairly poor, if you’re looking for food and activities outside the resort.

Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Balkon mit Blick auf das Meer. Das Zimmer selbst war sauber und geräumig. Das Badezimmer hätte mal wieder eine Renovierung nötig, war aber ok. Das Hotel selbst erscheint etwas älter. Von der Lage her etwas abseits gelegen, dadurch aber angenehm ruhig. Im "Restaurant" wurden wir strikt von den indischen Gästen getrennt, gleichzeitig aber sehr zuvorkommend bedient. Das Essen im Restaurant empfand ich als etwas überteuert. Alles in allem ein gutes Hotel, welches ich auch wieder buchen würde.

Good and enjoyed

Our first three nights in India were spent here, a relaxing way to be introduced to this country.

We were 4 people hotel was clean but not good food expense

Room poor, no shower head, hot water, air con, fridge, or cleaning over several days. £30 per night which is steep for India, even in the nicer places, and this was the basic room here. Offered upgrade, but only to mid range room for extra £20 p/n! Poor. Food in restaurant nice however, as were night reception and restaurant staff. Overall bit of a rip off given what is available elsewhere in India, probably because it's an "Ayurvedic Resort", so seems exclusive etc etc. It isn't, go elsewhere!

Molto bella la posizione dell'hotel con vista sulla laguna e sul mare che pero' è impraticabile. L'hotel è suddiviso in due parti; una parte che comprende reception, alcune camere, centro ayurvedico e piscina ed una seconda parte che prevede altre camere, ristorante ayurvedico e tradizionale; queste due parti sono divise da un canale; e' pertanto necessario utilizzare la barca per trasferirsi da un complesso all'altro. L'efficienza del personale in generale non è il punto forte della struttura.

It's a nice place and close to the airport. We made the mistake to pay $20 more for dinner included, but never got $20 worth of food in the evening. When included, the menu is restricted. Would have been better to have the whole selection and pay less for a meal.

Das Resort an sich liegt etwas ungünstig. Der Strand ist quasi nicht benutzbar, da 1. schlecht zu erreichen und 2. stark verschmutzt. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten fehlen, sowie auch die Möglichkeit Bars oder Restaurants außerhalb des Resorts aufzusuchen. Das ist mit Aufwand verbunden. Die Küche ist soweit gut, könnte aber besser sein (leider kein Bier. Das ist aber in ganz Südindien so). Das Frühstück ist sehr indisch geprägt, Continental breakfast dürftig und einseitig. Das Personal ist supernett und sehr bemüht alle Wünsche zu realisieren. Das ursprüngliche Zimmer war sehr klein, die Dusche war eher ein Rinnsal, der Toilettendeckel lose. Habe dann ein upgrade für zusätzlich 22€/Tag gebucht, was kein Problem war. Das Zimmer dann war sehr schön, groß und mit Balkon. Sauber waren die Zimmer alle. Poolanlage war sehr schön, leider ohne Service. Da in Indien der Müll irgendwo verbrannt wird (welches ein Problem ist) wird man manchmal vom Nachbardorf eingeräuchert. Trotzdem: Wer Ruhe und Entspannung (und Ayuvedische Behandlung) sucht, ist hier richtig. Die Menschen in der Gegend sind sehr freundlich.

Manager very rude to me as there was confusion over my booking, luckily the rest of his staff are very helpful and efficient. I had a room in the old part by the restaurant, these rooms are beyond shabby, burgundy and green bathrooms, shower with no power and minimal hot water, exposed strobe lights to cover the fact these rooms have no natural lighting. I did get to use one of the new rooms near reception, these are much better with great views. I would recommend only staying here if you want Ayurvedic treatment otherwise go 7km further to kovalam

tør hevde jeg er en erfaren india-farer,og bortskjemt på ayurvedisk behandling. Legen og terapeutene på Beach and Lake er særdeles dyktige. Selve resortet er lite,og har normal enkel standard. Men det er en særdeles god atmosfære der,og personalet er eksepsjonellt hyggelig,og service-innstilt. Ett av de bedre stedene jeg har vært på i India. Vi kommer tilbake:)
