Hotel Puri Palace Amritsar

The hotel is sooo dirty and bad i left after 1 night. I wouldnt even keep my dog in a hotel that disgusting. And the receptionist had to ask his boss if i was allowed to checkout. What nonsense. Hotels dot com you need to review this hotel its nothing like the pictures.

Cockroaches all sizes everywhere in the room. Greedy staff asked for thrice as much for trip to airport than Ola for their own taxi, mentioning Ola and Uber unreliable!!! And lastly, after of couple weeks of checkout, some arrogant staff called me for payment, which I had paid while checking in.

The hotel was relatively close to the Golden Temple, which was a plus point and there weren’t any cockroaches; but I’m afraid that’s where the positives end ... the whole hotel was completely run down; the rooms were filthy.... we asked for a better/cleaner room and they obliged, but the ‘upgrade’ only involved getting a bigger dirty room! And they charged us for it, above the quoted price! The room was thick with dust; the sheets were grey, stained and had all types of hair in! Very noisy, although that’s not the hotel’s fault ... just the position! No housekeeping throughout stay ... had to replenish our own toilet roll & water! The photos of the hotel portrayed a very different place!!

If you are looking for high speed wifi and high levels of customer service in Amritsar, stay far far away from this hotel. If you don't care about keeping your personal belongings, aka your wallet and cash, then this is the perfect place for you!! Also, if you like tepid showers, living in filth and love sleeping to the melodic tunes of allllll the honks and street noises outside your window, make sure you reserve the grand luxury room early in advance and prepare to pay a lot more. Although the hotel staff ended up comp-ing our dinner and driving us to the airport in an attempt to make up for our miserable experience and the theft of 1500 rupees out of one of our wallets, they did not come close to making up for the frustration and discomfort that we endured. Will definitely NOT be returning.
