Sinclairs Retreat Kalimpong

Sinclares Resort is such a gem! The entire property is meticulously maintained and nicely decorated with beautiful landscaping. The premium room is spacious and bedding is clean and comfortable. They provide you with a heater during winter time so the room is plenty warm. The best part is the hot shower which is so much better compared to other equally expensive hotels we stayed across India. You can take a really comfortable shower without worrying about the hot water running out in the middle of the shower which happened to us in other hotels. Also, you won’t get bored just staying in the hotel because there are many things you can do, from badminton court to ping pong table, to spa service. The food is excellent and thoughtfully prepared. Needless to say the mountain view is spectacular. What’s even better than the view is the staff in the resort. From reception to restaurant, everyone greeted us with excellent services and care. They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken good care of. They truly made us feel at home. I’d like to express my appreciation to Gautam, Koushik, Swastik, Saurav, Shovan, Subrata, and Ankita for making our stay a memorable experience. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone who plan to visit Kalinpong.

The hospitality is excellent. The staff are polite and cooperative and make you feel at home. The food was delicious. Infact every item we ordered was very tasty. Hats off to the chef. Well managed and clean property. The GM of the resort has a wonderful personality as well as kind helpful too. Will definitely visit again and recommend this place to others. We actually came here because some of our friends suggested this hotel.

Stay was awesome, beautiful and comfortable property. Situated within mystic nature. Moreover people are more warm. We received great treatment from all. Specially to mention- Mr Goutam, Mr Somnath, Mr Sandeep, Mr Subroto and Ms Sony. We felt being at home with their lovely attitude.

Peaceful and tranquil resort. Great views of hills all around. Nice place to spend a couple of days.

Overall a nice experience. The property is excellent, large and spacious. Loved the large attic room we were given although it was the corner most room (at the farthest corner of the property) and the view was not that great from the room. In spite of asking a few times, the front office refused to change even though I was sure all the rooms were not booked. They could have done in the 2nd day also. But nobody cared. This is not expected out of a good resort/hotel of this category. The most critical aspect to improve for the management is the a-la-carte food options. Although breakfast was awesome, for lunch and dinner, they had a rather thin menu. Not many options and so for foodies like me and my wife, it was disappointing. They had local food in the menu but for those, they needed 24 hours prior intimation! And clearly, the food items were mostly vegetarian. Very few options for non-veg items. Non-vegetarians may stay away from this resort, I felt. Secondly, their concierge service is at the best average. You only get cars for half-day or full day sightseeing only, preferably full day. The drivers take you to 'spots' and are rather reluctant if you want to venture anywhere outside these pre-defined 'spots'. So ridiculous. Suppose if you want a cab to drop you at the market and pick you up while returning, then you will get a clear-cut negative response. Extremely silly in fact. But anyways, overall, the experience was nice because of the room and the property.

Well presented property with large rooms. Could be a bit cleaner but this seems to be the case with most india properties where fine points are missed. Like most corners are never cleaned. There is alwas black mould at the grout

The hotel rooms are comfortable, staff is friendly, overall quality is nice. It's a bit away from the main town. Food is average.

Hotel is located about 12-13 kms from Kalimpong market. The landscape and view from the hotel is breathtaking. Beautiful places nearby are Deolo and Darjeeling. Activities like river rafting and paragliding are something you may like to do while you are staying at Sinclairs. Gangtok is however very far from the hotel. It took us almost 4 hours one way. If your plan is to cover Nathula and Tsogmo lake, then you have to stay somewhere nearby Gantok. Can’t do a day trip from Sinclairs Kalimpong.

Great location and facility, felt the maintenance is not done regularly. Staff was very good.

Had a lovely experience

Hotel is half hour journey away from the city, in an isolated area "purbong busty". Hotel per se is very comfortable and exotic, lovely ambience
