We stayed 10 days at Bulan Madu. It was everything we needed. It is not a 5 star resort, but the bungalows are big, and the manager Adi and the rest of the crew was doing everything to accommodate our needs for more chairs, a small table to build lego on ect. They serve breakfast a la carte at the tables with the most wonderful view with sunrise over Lombok. Many restaurants just next (try unzipp for fresh fish and manta for tacos or go across the island to mama's pizza for sunset) You can go snorkeling right in front of the hotel (beautiful corals, turtles and fish). The pool is shared with the the diving center but it was no problem using it.

Alles in einem absolut abgewohnten Zustand, uns wurde viel Geld aus dem Zimmer geklaut (!), Inhaber und Manager an keiner Lösung interessiert, Einrichtungen kaputt, Waschbecken undicht, Klo eckelig, absolut dunkel mit kaum Licht, Pool dreckig, (Grün)Anlage teilweise nur noch Staub, keine Gäste in Restaurant oder Bar, Frühstück (Nasi Goreng) schmeckt matschig wie vom Vortag aufgewärmt, ein zweiter Kaffee nur gegen Extrarechnung, Zimmer voller Moskitos, Minibar ohne Inhalt (leerer Kühlschrank). Eine Komplettmodernisierung ist seit sicher 10 Jahren überfällig. Schade, da Gili Air sonst sehr schön ist.

Fantastisk ø, og virkelig god beliggenhed hvor vi så havskildpadder hver dag få meter fra stranden hvor hotellet ligger. Det flinkeste personale jeg nogensinde har mødt. Hytten vi boede i var noget gammel og slidt, men beliggenheden og personalet opvejede de lidt ringe faciliteter.

Our stay at Villa Bulan Madu was super relaxing, as there are only 5 villas on the property, which are set back from the road and beach. Our villa was absolutely huge, with a gorgeous wraparound verandah, and a cabana in the front garden. We loved the unique covered outdoor bathroom (the shower is uncovered) and having a lovingly prepared breakfast on the beachfront. The staff are so friendly and hospitable; be sure to see Eddy across the road for bike and snorkel hire, as well as tour bookings. If you want an authentic island escape, where you can snorkel off the beach and see giant turtles, consider this iconic Gili Air property!

Our stay was exactly what we expected. We knew we didn’t book a brand new 5star resort so we didn’t expect the 5 start service. However, being a small “boutique” place with only 6 private villas, we were welcomed like family. The villas are big, high 20 ft ceilings with aircon. Outdoor bathroom with soaps, shampoo and shaving kit provided. Mosquito nets accent the slightly firm but comfy beds. 3 choices of combination breakfasts are yours to choose from. Due to their current search for a head chef/cook, breakfast is the only meal available but full restaurant menu to resume very soon. Drinks at Dragon Bar were delicious and reasonable. Staff is very friendly and took it upon themselves to help organise our excursion and entertainment for the kids ie; fishing rods to fish off the dragon bar beachside patio! The pool is nice and refreshing. The spa is priced competitively with other spas on Island. As we visited in mid April, things were still pretty quiet on the island and would love to see the seats and villas at Villa Bulan Madu and Dragon Bar full. It wasn’t hard for our kids to convince us to stay here next time, and we will. Price is right, staff is great, 10min walk from port and we were treated very well. Thanks Stefan and staff!

Vi hade en helt fantastiskt vecka! En liten resort med bara fem villor, vilket gjorde det väldigt personligt. Personalen var mycket vänlig och gjorde sitt yttersta för att vi skulle trivas. Rummet och omgivningarna städades varje dag, ibland flera gånger om dagen. Bra läge vid stranden med fina rev för snorkling, vi såg sköldpaddor i stort sett varje dag. Flera restauranger precis utanför hotellet. Rekommenderar att hyra cyklar för att utforska ön, blev överraskad över hur mycket den lilla ön har att erbjuda!

We rented a 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom villa for a family of 6 traveling together. The villas were not next to each other so inconvenient to be together. The property is older and in average condition. Villas were very dark inside. Staff was awesome, one young man was extremely helpful and really made our stay more pleasant! Breakfast was good. There is great snorkeling just south and north of their beachside location. And there is a a great seafood/fresh fish restaurant “Unzipped” and an excellent Taqueria close by.

Lovely place on the east side of Gili Air. The villas are clean and spacious, and perfect for families traveling with children. Rent a mask and you can go snorkeling right on the beach in front of the hotel. Highly recommended.
