North Circular Studios 1

This place should NOT be advertised on hotels.com - it is as far from a hotel as could be. It was such a hassle trying to get the address in advance, as I had to send in my ID first, and even then they would not tell me the address until 3 days before check-in. When we arrived, we were very disappointed with the neighbourhood - the studio is located in the suburbs, in a run down housing complex with heavy traffic outside and smelly bins right by the back window which meant we couldn’t open any window and get fresh air. The carpet was dirty, the bathroom tiny and poorly lit, with the barest minimum - no soap etc. We asked the customer service (via whatsapp) if there were bathmats available, and they said no and told us to use “one of the small towels”. When I replied there were only 3 body towels (and we were 3 people so we couldn’t spare one for the floor) there was no reply. There were 2 microwaves, none of which worked. We booked this place for 16 days and the thought of staying there for more than 1 night was so unbearable that we decided to find somewhere else to stay the rest of the time. The only positive was that the linen was at least clean.

North Studio 1 does not exist. Only when we were dropped off by taxi do we realize that it is not a full address. We were left stranded on the side of the road at 9:30pm, in the weather elements, scrambling to reach the contact provided, to which no one answered. At great length and long distance phone calls, we were told by Hotel.com that an email was sent to us a few hours before check in with request for a photo ID. That email, when found, still did not have address or check in instructions. There was no communication of any kind. We are disappointed that Hotel.com allowed this place to be listed. The bedding in the living area was not made or set up. No soap or bath mat was provided. The shower drain backed up causing dirty water up to ankle. The shower curtain is not contained in the shower. Toilet never stopped running. Neither heating unit worked. There was inadequate lighting. It was prison style with one light bulb hanging down from the ceiling in both sleeping areas. The microwave, toaster, hot pot and the table lamp did not work. Ironing board was broken. There were no drying racks or hangers, thus the washing machine was just for show (what traveler brings a rack?) Canisters for tea, coffee and sugar were empty. Instead, there were disgusting open paper cartons of salt and tea in cupboard. The cold water in kitchen sink did not work, only scalding hot water would come out. The bedroom door and bathroom door do not close properly. The list goes on, but out of space

Para empezar, en ningún momento se nos comunicó la dirección exacta. Nosotras seguíamos la localización que marcaba expedia y resultó ser una iglesia. Tuvimos que dar muchas vueltas y preguntar en otros hoteles por si alguien sabía dónde estaba. Además, el apartamento (sobre todo el baño) no estaban muy limpios. Había alguna que otra telaraña, la ducha esgaba sucia, la cubertería también... Lo mejor de este apartamento es que en 20 minutos andando estabas en pleno centro de Dublín.
