The Old Dispensary

We were in apartment 6 and there was mold/mildew on the baseboards and in the bathroom. Upon entry, there was a musty smell. The bedding was damp. We ended up going to a different hotel for the 2nd night of our stay. We would not recommend The Old Dispensary to stay at unfortunately.

The old dispensary was perfect for our honeymoon getaway! It was conveniently located and had a beautiful view of city and harbor! Staff was very easy to work with!

Great location in the heart of Kinsale. Everything is walkable. The studio is beautiful, but the bed is soft, and the kitchen is not well stocked. No pans were oven safe. No paring or chef’s knives. More than a few cobwebs.

Super convenient to this charming seaside town.

No elevator and we were on the 5th floor which we were unaware of. Difficult carry suit cases up 5 flights of stairs

Place had not been cleaned to any standard.

This location is within walking distance to everything and still fairly quiet.

We did not have a working key for our room. We emailed our contact and he was unresponsive. We carried our valuables wherever we went. The dignal for the tv didn’t work. Again, the representative was unresponsive.

Lovely big room with plenty of storage. Issues were, not particularly clean, bathroom cabinet in particular. No cover on the ironing board & no remote for the TV. Jacket left from previous guest. Great location.

The property is convenient to restaurants, pubs, and other attractions in Kinsale village. It was clean and well appointed.

The location is excellent, up a few steps from street level. Bear this is mind if you have suitcases. There is a bar just a few doors away and there is some noise from here at night, but nothing too much and didn't really disturb us. The room we had was large & spacious. 2 chairs would have been better than the one chair. There was tea & coffee provided and a mini fridge in the room. The bed was comfortable with power sockets nearby. The shower was excellent. Bathroom extractor fan was broken and some of the lights were also not working. Basic maintenance items could be improved. But overall, a nice lodge for a few days.

The room was big and fine but we did not know that we had to drag our heavy suitcases up a large flight of outside stairs and a flight inside the building. The towels in the bathroom were quite old and not to absorbent. The shower was very nice, however. The bed was comfortable, and the view from the windows were nice.

The apartment was a very good size, with an outdoor space, but unfortunately it was unclean, had a significant amount of black mould throughout the bathroom, hallway and bedroom area. The stairwell, entire apartment, bedding, towels and soft furnishings smelt strongly of damp. We came away with a lot of what look like flea bits We are disappointed, we feel that the price paid was not reflected in the apartment we were given, as you will see in the pictures a good majority could have been cleaned prior to our arrival

Bed comfortable shower very good Double room but only 1 bedside locker and 1 side lamp. Room badly needing an upgrade ie paint job as very dated. Towels provided were threadbare. Small outdoor area completely overgrown so useless. Door to ensuite would not close.

The location was great, room large and brite. I asked for an extra chair and one was found quickly and delivered. Much appreciated.

Very easy check in and check out system. Super large room and bathroom. Parking right outside. Great communication. Perfect location for restaurants etc in Kinsale. Great breakfast in the Cosy Cafe and Lemon Leaf.

The apartment was freezing & it took a day before the heat was fixed by staff. Difficulty communicating with staff

Took a little bit to find parking. TV didn’t work but the owner immediately addressed it and tried to get it to work. Very clean

Great room, wonderful location, lots of sunlight in the room, very clean and wonderful

The property was very centrally located and we enjoyed being able to walk everywhere. However, the owner took many days to respond via email in the days leading up to our reservation when I had questions, did not provide a fan when our room was very hot, and the cleanliness of the room was pretty disappointing. It smelled of mold/mildew, there were stains on the bedding and towels, and on the last night we heard scurrying in the night (I assume a small animal such as a mouse or such in the attic doors). I would not stay here again unfortunately.
