Fantastic room and service and great breakfast

Everytging was great staff very helpfuj, food plenty and really good, only problem was you didnt state that i would be two doors away with two glights of stairs the reason I booked the Mereside was because I had stayed there before and i knew it had a lift im bad on my feet with arthritis of the knees so i struggled up and down the stairs but overalli once again enjoyed my stay at the hotel

Best place I’ve stayed on the Isle of Mann. Room was well maintained, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was 1st class, good quality and very welcoming. Staff were excellent from check in, to the bar staff and breakfast staff all couldn’t do enough for you. We shall be booking for next years visit.

Very friendly welcome. Nice clean room. Great location to explore the seafront and city centre. Good breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

2nd time staying here. Good value for money for bed and breakfast. Rooms are clean, comfortable and serviceable. Evening meal also now available in the restaurant below. Themed menus of different cuisines from around the world, food was excellent quality.

The staff all go out of the way for you to enjoy your stay even to putting the heating on the last two nights as the temperature was a bit cooler. You will be very pleased with the facilities, comfy bed , nice clean facilities and a few mins walk from the town centre. I even enjoyed a sea view from my bedroom . Only drawback it is up a little hill not too far but if you have walking difficulties it takes it out of you a bit

Gray little gem in the Douglas, only a 5-10 minute walk to the centre. The staff are wonderful and very understanding and helpful. The rooms and spacious and it’s one of the very last hotel that can cater for a family of 5.! Their restaurant as well is great. Amazing food ! Cannot recommend this place more !

The hotel/guesthouse is a bit tired looking and our room was definitely not 4 star. Curtains coming off rails bedside light broken ceiling fans didn’t work. Breakfast was good enough but could have been hotter. Bar area good and bar staff nice.

Fabulous accomodation reccomend anyonecto stay here comfort level 10 breakfast out of this world 10 So enjoyed staying at rosslyn fantastic facilities showers good and fresh towels everyday all the staff courteous kind and polite and friendly . I only have one glitch the stairs are steep and was not offered help with cases to get to the room.!! However my stay was fantastic overall 10.

Nice well run good food

We booked to stay in HQ hotel but on arrival were told we weren't staying there but in a guest house 30 yards down the road, the Glen Mona. There is no mention of this in expedia's listing, not good. We were in an attic room up 6 flights of stairs. Owner did say we ciuld.swap later in the week but didn't want to waste a day packing and unpacking so stayed there. Room was very basic, sloping ceiling, small, hot with leaky kettle on such a narrow shelf it was dangerous. En suite was tiny. Shower was awful, water becoming scalding without warning. Tiny sink with rotating taps that at times both had hot.water. Towels were rarely changed, cups rarely cleaned. I had take toilet rolls out of the residents lounge toilets because they were not replaced. I had to clean the toilet myself, it was awful. Found an in cistern blue block in residents lounge which helped a bit. Breakfast was in HQ, which was where we were supposed to be. It was fine, full english either in buffet or to order. Changed randomly. 2 mystery cereals on bar, tasteless yogurt, tangerines and a toaster. Nice room and service was good. Would not recommend at all, good position just off front but so many better options. The Isle.of Man is fantastic, had great weather so barely spent any time in room so stuck with it. Do visit, but not this hotel.

Welcoming and friendly place to stay on the island. A bit dated but pleasant for a few nights stay.

Arrived on early flight, dropped luggage off at 10am and asked if possible would the room be available any earlier than 3pm. Was told to come back and check at 1pm which we did and it was ready, really helpful with young kids! Spacious room, great location and probably one of the best breakfasts on the island.

We stayed in this self-catering flat during a recent short break on the island. The location is very good, quiet area just off the seafront, free parking. Flat also had communal lounge. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very good and appointed to a good standard. A few issues spoiled our stay: first of all, this is a basement flat and has only one decent window in the kitchen/lounge, also when we arrived there was a slight smell of smoke and the heating was full on (despite it being a warm spell in August) and I had to get reception to come and tell me where the thermostat was so that I could lower it (this could have been avoided if an information card had been available). The fridge also leaked water but I managed to fix this by temporarily defrosting it (a huge mass of ice had formed on the interior back panel). Sofa was also badly sagging (not like the picture) and requires replacement. Finally, there was no mobile signal and the free wi-fi constantly disconnected. None of these problems spoiled our stay, but management should ensure that they are dealt with before guests arrive.

Food in the restaurant is very poor and way overpriced. Avoid the meatballs in "10 hour tomato sauce". Presumably the leftover plum tomatoes for breakfast. Lazy staff at Breakfast, no coffee or juices being refilled. I asked a lady if nobody was thirsty today, as she'd stood by the empty jugs for 20 mins, browsing on her phone. Had to beg for a knife and fork, to which I got a huff and a kevin the teenager reaction. No glass on my table, so even if there were liquids on offer, I'd presumably have to use my hands to drink them! They didn't bother replacing the bacon either, once it had gone. Gave up and went to my room. Nice decor and room itself was good.

Really reasonably priced hotel that is easily accessible from the ferry terminal. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Friendly staff. Great breakfast.

Cleaning wasn't great. Bin wasn't emptied after previous occupants and was only emptied two days after we told staff. Bar and food was good.
