I'd describe this as overpriced. While the amenities (e.g., gym, breakfast, pool) were nice, the room was old and not well maintained. I stayed here in July of 2026 and paid about €200 per night. The room was nicely designed and fairly clean; however, it felt quite old. There was some mold in the bathroom and the shower curtain was mounted such that it was constantly touching me while I showered. The curtain wasn't perfectly clean either. My shower also didn't drain properly, filling up to the ankle after about 5 minutes. I told the staff about this twice; they sent someone to look at it twice but both times didn't seem to realize there was a problem. The breakfast was fairly nice and offered a variety of fruits, cheeses, breads, and desserts. There was also a well-equipped gym. However, the hotel did not offer complimentary bottled water. Overall, I think this was a fine stay but absolutely not worth the price or rating, especially given the maintenance issues I experienced.

Was a little disappointed in this hotel. It wasn’t the cleanest compared to the other hotels we stayed at in Italy. Also, there isn’t a hotel bar inside, only outside but it closes early. We wanted to have a drink at our hotel before dinner but we weren’t able to. Wouldn’t stay here again.

The hotel's location was definitely one of its best features. It was within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and attractions in Sorrento, making it very convenient to explore the area. Unfortunately, our stay got off to a rough start. On our first day after checking in, there was a very loud noise coming from the bathroom plumbing. It took several attempts by the staff before the issue was finally resolved, which was frustrating. Another disappointment was the service at the bar. The staff there were not very welcoming or helpful, and it felt like they weren't interested in providing good customer service. The breakfast was decent—not amazing, but certainly not bad. It offered a reasonable selection and was one of the better parts of the stay. Overall, I expected a much better experience considering the price we paid. While the location is excellent, the maintenance issues and lack of warm, attentive service made it difficult to feel that the hotel was worth the cost.

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and it was fantastic. The room was very clean and the perfect size. We really loved the rooftop pool and bar. It was a great way to unwind after a long day of exploring. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the staff was very kind and helpful. The location is excellent. You can get to the main square in about a 10 minute walk and are close to the bus and train station. I would highly recommend this hotel!

You can find fancier hotels in Sorrento but Grand De La Ville is nice enough. Better than basic. Location is good, 6-7 min walk to the center square. Free breakfast buffet is pretty good with American breakfast options like scrambled eggs and an omelet station. Rooms were generously sized. We used the laundry service for a few things and it was perfect “Garden View” rooms overlook apartment buildings… not exactly scenic but we weren’t in the room much. Only good things to say.

This is a beautiful hotel and great location. Walking distance from the square with some great shops along the way. We, actually were staying for two nights and ended up staying two extra we enjoyed it so much. The staff are all very helpful and polite. The breakfast buffet was enormous something for everyone. The rooms are very clean with a big shower and all rooms have a patio. The sea view if fabulous, if you get one of these rooms you will be spoiled. Can't wait to go back next year.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! Our room was beautiful, and the view of the ocean was absolutely amazing. The staff was so helpful and helped us to create a wonderful itinerary of events while we were there. The location of the hotel is perfect. Just a short walk to all the shops in downtown area, but away from all the chaos. We loved the breakfasts each morning on the beautiful outdoor terrace and the food was fantastic. The upstairs pool on the sun deck was the perfect place to relax have a drink and enjoy the views. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking in the area of Sorrento.
