Unforgettable Experience
The rooms were wonderful, offering a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. And the food? Simply amazing! Every meal was a delightful culinary journey. We especially loved the tranquil atmosphere of the quiet adults-only pool – it was the perfect escape for relaxation.
Exceptional Service
A special shout-out goes to Michelle, the Front Office Manager. Her attention to detail and genuine care for us was truly remarkable. We were so grateful for the room upgrade she provided; it made our stay even more special.
We also have to commend the room service attendant who catered to all our needs with such efficiency and a friendly demeanor. Their service was truly awesome!
Every aspect of our stay at the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to return to this little slice of paradise!

This is a popular hotel. We had trouble checking in, and even though we were tired from our long trip, we had to wait quite a while to get to our room. The staff at the front desk were slow to respond, and it seemed like they were understaffed, probably because it's a large hotel. Also, because it's an old hotel, the facilities were noticeably worn out. The only good thing about it was the beautiful garden. The food was average. The beach was not very clear, and we hardly saw

Das Hotel befindet sich in Batu Ferringhi, eine Stadt im Norden von Penang. Die Fahrt vom Flughafen dauert je nach Verkehrslage/Uhrzeit 1 bis 1,5 Stunden. In der Stadt gibt es jeden Abend einen Night Market, der vor allem am Wochenende auch gerne von den Locals besucht wird, was zu entsprechenden Staus führt. In der fußläufigen Umgebung gibt es viele verschiedene Essensmöglichkeiten.
Die Unterkunft ist sehr stivoll (indisch geprägt) eingerichtet und ist sehr sauber. Auch die vorhandenen Pools und sonstigen Einrichtungen (Tischtennis,etc.) fanden wir sehr gut.
Wir fanden die Preise für Getränke etwas hoch, aber das ist für ein 5-Sterne Haus wohl entsprechend.
Alles in Allem haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden bei einem zukünftigen Besuch auf Penang auf jeden Fall wieder dieses Hotel wählen.

We loved this resort. We upgraded to Rasa wing and enjoyed excellent additional services, such as afternoon tea and a cocktail hour.
The resort is well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful.
The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very clean.
They offer an array of dining options at the resort and the food was excellent. There is also a spa and other activities, such as a pitch and putt course.
Additionally, the resort is within walking distance to an area where there are many restaurants and other tourist attractions all with local flavor.
Downtown Georgetown is about a 30 minute drive away. (There is a lot of traffic on the island.)
This resort is ideal for people who want to be away from the hustle and bustle of Georgetown. (Hotel offers a shuttle service to Georgetown). It’s definitely a place to relax and unwind.

A wonderful place to stay for a relaxing holiday. The hotel has a quality feel with interesting local art exhibited throughout. Obviously well run and managed, the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Overall a great stay. Rooms spacious and have a great view over the garden, pool and sea view. Staff were really friendly and aside from check in, all incredibly helpful and pleasant. Good breakfast buffet. Great pool options, good gym and even has a par 3 pitch and putt which was a bit of fun. Special shoutout to Karim and Muru. Only downside was the check in - 3pm check in and they still could not get a room ready or allocated to us until 4.30pm (we had to leave 5pm for a booking that they were aware of). We were simply told sorry and had to constantly follow up. Was evdient the resort was not at capacity either. Room was obviously rushed as mugs were missing, used utensils still in room etc. Was rectified urgently by Karim. Would return, hopefully with a better check in experience

Amazing customer service, all staff are very welcoming and helpful. House keeping was wonderful, every time we went out they will come and tidy the room with little thoughtfulness surprise. Bravo. Definitely it was a first class experience.

A beautiful retreat on the sea with lush gardens and wonderful facilities. We stayed in the rasa wing and was worth the added extras. The food and service and location were excellent.

Vi havde glædet os til den sidste del af vores rejse, men blev desværre mødt af ringe service i receptionen.
Efter en 7 timers transport kom vi frem til hotellet - her skulle vi selv spørge ind til morgenmadstider + sted. Da vi spurgte ind til hjælp med lidt aftensmad, kiggede personalet op og ned af vores tøj, hvorefter vi fik besked på, at den fine restaurant krævet en anden påklædning - så vi skulle nok vælge poolbaren.
Den anden sidste dag, fandt vores datter ud af, at vi kunne tage til et andet hotel med vandland (gratis da hotellet ejet det andet hotel) samt at der var aktivitets kalender - hvor og hvordan man tilmeldte sig anede vi ikke.
Derudover skal man ikke betale ekstra for havudsigt, den er yderst begrænset grundet store flotte træer i haven.
Lækker morgenmad og god service ved poolen og poolbaren 👍

このホテルは大衆ホテルです。チェックインからトラブルが発生し、私達は長旅で疲れているのに部屋に入るのに大分待たされました。窓口スタッフのレスポンスが遅いのと、大きなホテルのためかスタッフ不足に感じました。また、古いホテルのため設備の老朽化が目立ちました。良かったところは、庭園が綺麗だったことです。食事は一般的なサービスでした。ビーチは透明度は全くなく、ビーチに入る人は、ほとんど見かけませんでした。

What an absolutely fantastic stay at the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, Penang! From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by this beautiful resort.
Unforgettable Experience
The rooms were wonderful, offering a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. And the food? Simply amazing! Every meal was a delightful culinary journey. We especially loved the tranquil atmosphere of the quiet adults-only pool – it was the perfect escape for relaxation.
Exceptional Service
A special shout-out goes to Michelle, the Front Office Manager. Her attention to detail and genuine care for us was truly remarkable. We were so grateful for the room upgrade she provided; it made our stay even more special.
We also have to commend the room service attendant who catered to all our needs with such efficiency and a friendly demeanor. Their service was truly awesome!
Every aspect of our stay at the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to return to this little slice of paradise!

Das Hotel befindet sich in Batu Ferringhi, eine Stadt im Norden von Penang. Die Fahrt vom Flughafen dauert je nach Verkehrslage/Uhrzeit 1 bis 1,5 Stunden. In der Stadt gibt es jeden Abend einen Night Market, der vor allem am Wochenende auch gerne von den Locals besucht wird, was zu entsprechenden Staus führt. In der fußläufigen Umgebung gibt es viele verschiedene Essensmöglichkeiten.
Die Unterkunft ist sehr stivoll (indisch geprägt) eingerichtet und ist sehr sauber. Auch die vorhandenen Pools und sonstigen Einrichtungen (Tischtennis,etc.) fanden wir sehr gut.
Wir fanden die Preise für Getränke etwas hoch, aber das ist für ein 5-Sterne Haus wohl entsprechend.
Alles in Allem haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden bei einem zukünftigen Besuch auf Penang auf jeden Fall wieder dieses Hotel wählen.

We loved this resort. We upgraded to Rasa wing and enjoyed excellent additional services, such as afternoon tea and a cocktail hour.
The resort is well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful.
The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very clean.
They offer an array of dining options at the resort and the food was excellent. There is also a spa and other activities, such as a pitch and putt course.
Additionally, the resort is within walking distance to an area where there are many restaurants and other tourist attractions all with local flavor.
Downtown Georgetown is about a 30 minute drive away. (There is a lot of traffic on the island.)
This resort is ideal for people who want to be away from the hustle and bustle of Georgetown. (Hotel offers a shuttle service to Georgetown). It’s definitely a place to relax and unwind.

A wonderful place to stay for a relaxing holiday. The hotel has a quality feel with interesting local art exhibited throughout. Obviously well run and managed, the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Overall a great stay. Rooms spacious and have a great view over the garden, pool and sea view. Staff were really friendly and aside from check in, all incredibly helpful and pleasant. Good breakfast buffet. Great pool options, good gym and even has a par 3 pitch and putt which was a bit of fun. Special shoutout to Karim and Muru. Only downside was the check in - 3pm check in and they still could not get a room ready or allocated to us until 4.30pm (we had to leave 5pm for a booking that they were aware of). We were simply told sorry and had to constantly follow up. Was evdient the resort was not at capacity either. Room was obviously rushed as mugs were missing, used utensils still in room etc. Was rectified urgently by Karim. Would return, hopefully with a better check in experience

Amazing customer service, all staff are very welcoming and helpful. House keeping was wonderful, every time we went out they will come and tidy the room with little thoughtfulness surprise. Bravo. Definitely it was a first class experience.

A beautiful retreat on the sea with lush gardens and wonderful facilities. We stayed in the rasa wing and was worth the added extras. The food and service and location were excellent.

Vi havde glædet os til den sidste del af vores rejse, men blev desværre mødt af ringe service i receptionen.
Efter en 7 timers transport kom vi frem til hotellet - her skulle vi selv spørge ind til morgenmadstider + sted. Da vi spurgte ind til hjælp med lidt aftensmad, kiggede personalet op og ned af vores tøj, hvorefter vi fik besked på, at den fine restaurant krævet en anden påklædning - så vi skulle nok vælge poolbaren.
Den anden sidste dag, fandt vores datter ud af, at vi kunne tage til et andet hotel med vandland (gratis da hotellet ejet det andet hotel) samt at der var aktivitets kalender - hvor og hvordan man tilmeldte sig anede vi ikke.
Derudover skal man ikke betale ekstra for havudsigt, den er yderst begrænset grundet store flotte træer i haven.
Lækker morgenmad og god service ved poolen og poolbaren 👍
