Chacala is definitely off the beaten path. The streets are rough and the shops are limited. However, the beach is terrific. The people are friendly and the pace of life is lovely. The Casa. Liquen hotel is owned and operated bye a welcoming, warm and friendly woman with enough energy for three people. When you stay here, you feel like you’re staying with a friend. The hotel is 3 or 4 years old and in good condition, very clean, but what sets it apart are the friendly staff. We did an early morning hike right from the hotel up to a lovely viewpoint above town that sits on the edge of an ancient volcano. While I was there, I caught one of the most beautiful sunsets I can recall. This town and the hotel are not for everybody. It took me a bit to catch the vibe, but once I did, I really liked it. This is a special place to slow down, unplug and relax. No bar scene, no fancy restaurants. Lots of families enjoying an authentic rustic Mexican village by the sea.

Property is very aesthetically pleasing. I could of rated my stay a 5 star but checkin took 40 minutes (we were given keys by 3:40pm) yet still had to be out by 11am. Looks like theres only 1 cleaning personal. Our kitchen was not throughly cleaned, the drawers where the cups and plates were; we found a pile of hair. The pool was also slightly dirty. 3 stars for providing on-site parking, location is a few feet from the beach or the restaurants, the beds are comfy, bathrooms big. We spent most of our time out in the beach. We plan on booking a bigger room with balcony in a near future and in a calmer season. Definitely give this place a try.

Great hotel with awesome rooms. Comfy beds, wifi. Great views. Short walk down to the beach, amazing hosts. It was my first time to chacala I loved everything about it. The restaurants in the area are a bit limited in their menus unless you love seafood. Next time we will bring our own food to cook. It’s worth coming back too.

Un gran lugar para disfrutar de tu estancia, tiene increible energía, gran armonía en su decoración, amabilidad de todo el personal, la anfitriona es espectacular. Además las habitaciones son muy cómodas y cuenta con lindos detalles. Super recomendada!

Casa Liquen es un lugar hermoso, a solo unos pasos de la playa, cerca de restaurantes y todo lo necesario. Adriana y su equipo fueron muy amables y nos hicieron sentir como en casa.

Es un lugar mágico. Espectacular el diseño y se duerme con el sonido Del Mar. Una experiencia increíble.
