Truthfully, in pictures, this place looks great and charming. Getting there, check in was lousy and we were given no information other than the key to our room. The staff were kind enough to help us with our bags up the stairs. There is no “free parking” as listed on Expedia, but there is a parking lot nearby that’s only a few dollars. The rooms require you to open the windows at night and there’s no screen, so bugs or whatever else can easily come in which was not great. The shower is small and the shower curtain is constantly touching you the entire time. The mattress is OK but the pillows are laughably terrible. The staff’s communication was confusing and led to us paying 60 euros for dinner at the hotel that they kept giving us the impression that it was “already paid for,” but what they should have said was it was “already reserved” I.e. we had made a reservation with them for dinner months prior and forgot, but we could’ve cancelled and had a far superior dinner elsewhere for less. Their dinner was ok but definitely not worth 60 euros, and even the service during the dinner was poor. I personally wouldn’t stay there again, but I’d say the place has charm but perhaps some tuning up is needed

Well located, however: 1) Use the referred parking lot 2) Old apartment, not sure about shower / bathroom cleanliness 3) No air conditioning 4) Busy street, need to close the windows 5) Lots of smokers into garden, need to close windows 6) Cleanning lady kept our door open while we were away

Fantastisk grønn oase som åpnet seg bak store dører når vi kom inn fra den trafikkerte gaten. Svært sentralt. Fantastisk service, frokost og middag. Kam absolutt anbefales!

An oasis right outside the medina. So peaceful and quiet for being in such a central and busy location. The staff and their hospitality is top notch! Loved the resident cat Simon as well!

This property is in a perfect location for exploring Tangier, right in between the old and new town. Our room was amazing and the property is beautiful. It was so great to come back and relax at the pool after a day of exploring. The staff was also very helpful with everything we needed.

La villa d'epoca è stupenda e piena di fascino, ricca di arredi e oggetti originali e vintage, molto curata, ha uno spendido giardino e una bella piscina, piccola ma è sufficiente. I ragazzi che la gestiscono sono a dir poco meravigliosi, molto attenti ai loro ospiti, sempre disponibili e cortesi, di una gentilezza rara. Un posto meraviglioso.

The staff, their hospitality, friendliness, time for conversation about everything including the history of this place, rooms, location, view from the terrace - everything was just incredible. It’s a rare treasure to find this place in such a big city. The outside did not give a clue on the beauty inside. Highly, highly recommend this place. Thanks for everything !!!

Amazing property. It’s an oasis just few minutes walk from the medina or from the marina. Perfect location. The staff are amazing too. Abdo and Yousef we cannot thank you enough for your warm hospitality and kindness. The decor and conditions of the house take you back in time. The gardens are also amazing We stayed here two nights when we arrived in Tanger and in fact it was so good we decided to come back at the end of our trip for two more nights.

Great property. Lots of space. We were in two rooms. Onne room was perfect the other one face the street and there was a lot of noise during the night.

Es una casa con mucho encanto y estilo pero necesita una puesta a punto tanto en los elementos decorativos como alfombras, tapicerías,cortinas,colchas etc.. como en grifería y sanitarios.Las bañeras antiguas con patas son muy bonitas pero se pueden actualizar. Cuando recibes clientes y cobras por ello tienes que ofrecer toallas impecables que en este caso eran viejísimas y rotas. La casa y el jardín son preciosos pero al ser una casa antigua las habitaciones del jardín suite jardin y suite cervantes son muy húmedas ya que hay tanta vegetación que entra poco sol.Los colchones son estilo Marruecos,o sea duros pero no incómodos.En la Suite Jardín tienen mantas eléctricas sobre ellos bebido a la humedad. El jardín tambien necesita una buena poda y mantenimiento. El personal es muy amable y te atienden fenomenal.En ese aspecto superbien.Creo que el propietario deberia revisar todas estos comentarios ya que tiene una propiedad excepcional y merece la pena darle una puesta a punto.Yo si volvería a este hotel porque me ha gustado mucho ese estilo decadente de Tánger.

Seguramente este hotel tenga uno de los jardines más bellos y mejor cuidados de la ciudad. El servicio es fabuloso y la casa, si cabe, es todavía más espectacular que lo que se aprecia en las fotos. Por ponerle una pega, al dejar el hotel, me dijeron que a pesar de que ya había pagado el hotel por expedia, debía pagar otros impuestos, no muy claro cuáles. No fueron más de 8 euros y no me importa pagarlos, pero esas cosas generan desconfianza si no se avisan desde el principio.

I generally get an idea about the hospitality of a hotel if the correspondence in advance is already great and Mimi Calpe did not disappoint. We were offered transport from the Airport which we declined, since we had rented a car, but we were still offered support for finding a parking spot etc. When we actually approached the hotel, we weren't quite sure, if we were at the right place. There was a plain door in a big, big wall and I think the name was slightly different than on the Website. We rang the door anyway and were immediately greeted by an amazingly friendly young man who was our point of contact while staying, offering us breakfast then next day, showing us around the hotel and even giving us tips for our journey onwards. Super nice, super helpful, just great! Thank you! Now to the hotel itself: Once we stepped through that plain door, we were presented a vast jungle-like garden, with birds chatting, a cat idly enjoying the peace... a hidden paradise, which I could - had we not been on a tight schedule and had to leave the next day - easily see myself spending an entire afternoon reading a book and taking refuge from the busy life in Tangier. A really enchanted place. The room was clean, breakfast was served in an eclectic breakfast room and accompanied by said friendly cat who snuggled up on us and made us feel even more at home. Breakfast was the usual for Morocco: Jams, honey, cakes, butter and different kind of breads. All in all, highly recommendable.

Lindamente instalado num casarão do século XIX, Mimi Calpe é uma agradável surpresa assim que se transpõe o umbral de entrada. Muitas plantas por todo o lado e vários ambientes externos e internos para estar. O quarto é bom e decorado com bom gosto. O banheiro é equipado com uma ótima banheira antiga, perfeita para banho de imersão. Café da manhã saboroso e equipe simpática. Gostei.

El mejor lugar para quedarse en Tanger. Recóndito, inesperado, lleno de sorpresas. La decoración tan cuidada, y el personal más atento que puedas esperar. Un 10.
