Riad Hotel El Kennaria

This is a combined establishment which consists of a rooftop restaurant with live music and a riad/hostel. The live music is very loud (far above normal levels), and the sound level inside the guestrooms, even on the ground floor, is in line with the sound level in typical restaurants/bars, which means that most people will not be able to sleep before the music ends approximately at 23:00-23:30 in the evening. The restaurant guests also use the same stairs as the riad guests, which means that there is a lot of traffic of talking people just outside the guestroom doors. Thus, this riad is not suitable for people who need a good night’s sleep, and it should only be an option if you intend to go to bed late and wake up early. The staff is great and very helpful, the property is clean and the rooms ok, although very simple. The breakfast is good. Great location. (When we visited, the electricity was out in some (but not all) of the guestrooms, but we expect that is not a reoccuring issue.)

Hotel El Kennaria is a great riad if you set your expectations correctly. It excels in value and location but comes with one significant trade-off. Pros: Fantastic location in the Old Medina. You step right into the heart of the markets and are a short walk to the main square. New Marrakesh is a quick 10-12 minute taxi away. Helpful front desk staff (e.g. ask them how to turn on heat, AC. Clean rooms and common areas. Simple, no-frills breakfast is included. Major Con: Evening noise from the rooftop restaurant (typically 9:30 PM - 11:30 PM). If you're sensitive to sound or plan to sleep early, this is not for you. If you're out late or can sleep through it, you'll be fine. Room for 4 people is tight. Verdict: Reasonably priced for travelers who prioritize location and don't mind noise. Avoid if you need absolute quiet for an early night.

It was great. Very clean, great breakfast, very central. The only problem is that some days, a band plays on the rooftop restaurant until about 11 pm and it is very loud in the rooms.

Riad super bien placé, tres près de la place jjema el fna, au calme.

Værelset var et meget lille men så fint værelse, men en dejlig aircondition der blev benyttet meget. Det eneste ulempe ved Riadet var at der var restaurant fra beboerne og udefrakommende om aftenerne og der var meget højt musikshow hver aften, der af og til gjorde det svært at falde i søvn, grundet meget højt larm. Ellers var hele personalet rigtige søde og spurgte altid om man havde det godt eller om de kunne hjælpe! Det var rigtigt dejligt. Jeg kan klart anbefale hotellet og det rigtig rigtigt godt centralt hvis man er klar på bylivet med souksne

Super vriendelijk personeel,maar de verbouwing en de live muziek in de avond maakte het onaangenaam.

The hotel was under construction. They suppose not to offer rooms. The room was not even ready with no toilet accessories and AC was not functioning properly. Very Bad experiance

Location is prime, entertainment was great, the connected rooftop restaurant was good quality. The entertainment resonated into the hotel unfortunately making it hard to get to sleep as it went on until quite late but stopped before midnight. Overall positive experience here

The service at Riad Hotel has been very good. I liked the support I received from staff like Hassan, Toufik and Zize. They gave me good traditional Morrocan food options at the hotel and places to visit in town. Very safe place to stay whilst in Marrakesh.

Hôtel à 5 mn de la place Jemaa el fna. Un rooftop qui permet de prendre un verre en journée et le soir ou de manger.

We were right off Jamaa al Fnaa, the shopping and dining was great, loud and always busy. It's worth noting that the square is only open to cars/taxis in the morning, so if you arrive in the afternoon or evening you'll have to walk approx 10-15 min to reach the riad. Something to bear in mind if you have elderly travellers. Staff were amazing, they helped me book private tours for my parents to atlas mountains and agafay desert.

Súper excelente servicio. No nos toco desayunar porque salimos antes, pero ellos se ofrecieron a darnos el desayuno para llevar!! Atentos y muy bien ambiente en la terraza del hotel.. recomendado!! Solo que carros no acceden ahí pero es poco lo de caminar!!! Lo recomiendo al 100%

Hotel is very centrally located however downside is the restaurant on the terrace which has very loud music until late evenings plus lots of street noise from outside. Room was ok, but bathroom lacks basic facilities, needs upgraded and is tiny. Great location though as only 3 minutes walk from the square. Staff is good and breakfast is nice and filling, although a little variety would be good rather than same breakfast every day.

Greit sted å være hvis man liker at det er musikk rundt seg hele tiden. De har også en restaurant som stenger ved midnatt, så det var bråk fram til da, med live musikk og kunder som går inn og ut av bygget. Strømmen gikk 3 ganger på de 4 nettene jeg var der, så det var kjipt, men de fikset det nokså fort. Bra, tradisjonell frokost derimot, med takterasse.

Very noisy. They have a rooftop restaurant and open kitchen, where guest have to go through the riad. Door and window to the room doesn't help to stop the noise. You can clearly hear when other guest are using their toilet. It was possible to sleep from 23 to 6.30. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean.
