Everything about the hotel itself is outstanding. However, the road conditions and surroundings approaching the property could be better.

Loved it! Unobstructed sea view is priceless.

the Flamingo club room was very nice spacious and comfortable though no mini bar. Overall I love this place and always go back despite any negative experiences Check in was terrible. that reception no idea what is an online booking so i had to give her my phone with booking confirmation not she even understood that. I specifically requested to check in early as I has an event starting at 1pm at the hotel and i need to shower and dress for event. the receptionist instead of checking of a room is available first gave me a lecture how early check ins aren't allowed, but will check with her supervisor, which is what she ought to have done in the first place instead of making up her own responses.

Very good vintage property with a lot of character and charm. Helpful staff including Lenore at front desk and others we encountered. Good value for the price. We got a very nice upgrade with beautiful view.

The room was clean and l must commend the bathroom is clean. The staff are friendly and welcoming. My only problem is the food l think they need to review their menu. Room service the food was not good.

Beautiful historic hotel, fabulous views from the rooms and most of the hotel overlooking Maputo bay, great breakfast, excellent service.

Walking distance to downtown (20-30 minutes). The grounds are nice because they have a nice view to the ocean and a nice lawn. All the rooms face the ocean. The food is not good. Breakfast was very limited in its selection. Good place for a social, but not to stay. Rooms, gym, and general areas need updating.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Loved all the old features that have been retained. The wooden staircase was really beautiful. The views from the pool area were also spectacular.

It is in the center of Maputo with a beautiful view. Book a see view room.

Cardoso's location is breathtaking. Perched up on a hill overlooking the Indian Ocean with a nice garden and good swimming pool, it offers a breathtaking view, inclusive of the sunset. Staff are pleasant and friendly. I enjoyed using the pool, and restaurant which also shared the great view. I could not use the gym which offered the same grand panoramic view from level 5. Even though it was past 2pm when I arrived, it took a while to be given my room. While I had paid a premium for a sea view room, I was initially given a room which did not offer any view. On rejecting it, I was given a room with a proper sea view only after 3pm. When I got in to the room, the TV was not working and a technician had to be called to fix it. Subsequently two days later, the TV stopped working completely and I had to move to another room as it could not be fixed. Only to find out the air condition was not working in the newly allocated room. While taking up a lot of precious time changing rooms and waiting for technicians, it also indicated the hotel was dated and tired looking. Also, there was no fridge in the room. Apart from these inconveniences the hotel has easy access to the museum and is walking distance from the popular Dhow and other restaurants. I still expect to stay here on my next visit to Maputo.
