The room itself was really nice. Good amenities, good location, good price, good communication from the host. However, the AC unit was filled with black mold, making the entire room need to be continually aired out. This also didn't allow me to use AC at night, causing me to be cold every single night for four nights. Contacting the host about this was quick and easy, but they sent the wrong type of technician over, making the problem unresolved before I left. If this problem didn't exist, I'd easily give 5 stars, but this was an extremely smelly and uncomfortable stay.

Comfortable beds, great location, and easy check in process.

The hotel is located in a controlled area for non registered vehicles. So if you are taking Uber to and from this place, be sure to ask the hotel ahead of time for a “ entry code”. I wish the hotel would offer this information voluntarily. Without the code, our driver had to drop us off about a 10 min walk away and having to haul our luggage, it was not a fun way to begin our stay. The place is relatively good value. We particularly like the clean sheets and towels. The common laundry washer and dryer is a plus but was relatively busy during our stay.

What makes this accommodation a 4-star hotel is hard to justify. Yes, most of the listed amenities were officially there. However, some were seriously lacking. Firstly, the heater did not work. We had to troubleshoot ourselves with the help of office staff who could not resolve the technical issue. We had to cope with using the towel warmer to heat the whole unit for all 6 days we stayed there. Secondly, there are laundry facilities, only one washer and dryer. When we tried to use them, they were occupied and it appeared as though the staff was using them for their own purpose. Thirdly, officially there is parking offsite. Access to it is particularly difficult. Most streets are one-way. If one takes a wrong turn, one has to circle the mountain for 11 kilometers to return to the same place. Even disregarding this inconvenience, to reach the hotel to check in or out was an ordeal. The authorization code did not work. It took 3 different codes for access to be granted while cars lined up behind us. We witnessed others experience the same difficulty with the door access. Other minor inconveniences are too many to list. Why Expedia promotes this accommodation baffles us. We will not return there nor recommend it to anyone.

The QR code system doesn't work well when you're using a car, and often there isn't enough internet, so you don't have access to the historic center of Sintra and you can't enter the village where the house is located.

The apartment was great, very clean, great location! We also loved the amenities- free water and a storage room for luggage should you arrive early or want to stay later in Sintra. If I travel here again, I would stay again!

The room was spacious and full of light during daylight hours. The self-check in worked great and the lockers are a nice option. However, the room needs a thorough top to bottom cleaning and paint touch-up. Also, a few more coffee pods and a blanket would be great.

The room was great and the hotel staff was really nice. I would love to give them five stars but the situation getting to the hotel was such an inconvenience. If you’re taking a taxi or Uber transport from the airport, the only way that the driver can bring you up to the location with your luggage and bags is if you get a special QR code. Unfortunately, I was not able to get the QR code when I arrived even though I requested it and had to walk really far uphills with very heavy bags, causing injury to myself and damaging my bags. The Hotel did make sure to give me the QR code for my exit so that the driver could come to pick me up to take me to the airport so that did make it a little better also the issue with the codes. Sometimes they shut off so if you get in late, you have to call and get it reactivated but outside of this And honestly, even with this situation, it still didn’t make me not enjoy my stay here. The great thing also is that there is a number you can call or someone is available pretty much 24 seven to help right away all in all I’d say it was a great experience and I would stay here again, but I would definitely plan better to make sure that I didn’t have the same issue getting to the actual location from the airport

Room was in bad condition

They need to be more organized with communication between the guests and employees. Lock on our door didn't work, outside door lock failed as well. Outside door was wide open at night till it got fixed. Safety should be a main concern for guests. Room was great though.

Sintra is too difficult for parking/driving in ,I would recommend staying outside the area and taking ubers or taxis into Sintra

room is clean and spacious and as described on photo. Location is a bit tricky to find as there is twist and turn on the street. Parking is also tricky but we kind of knew it ahead of time.

The check in was stressful and unorganized. We were to receive an email with the codes we needed for the apartment which we did not get. Could not reach anyone. Thankfully a local person helped us. 90 minutes later they found our reservation and we were finally let in The apartment was nice and centrally located. Other than the check in we enjoyed our stay.

Space was lovely and clean wish we had more time to spend here

This appt was a nice central location with an amazing view of the castle.

We visited with a group of 8 friends. My wife and I were only there for a night on our way to the airport the next day. This was way too short!! Our room was HUGE, nice, comfortable, perfect! We had a peek-a-boo view of the castle on the hill. This is located perfectly near restaurants and Sintra sights. We really want to return for a longer stay!

This property has the potential to be a Hidden Gem if only the owner would maintain it properly it could use a coat of paint a good cleaning and repairs to several things in the room We saw a cockroach and several other bugs I would not recommend this place until the owner takes some pride in it

Very good location, albeit that there's a short uphill walk to get to the main square - that seems to be the case for everywhere in Sintra! The apartment itself was very comfortable with a big bed, air-conditioning and lovely views. It was clean and the bathroom was a decent size. The kitchen area was adequate for my purposes but could probably do with updating. I stayed in the loft room and am short, so it wasn't an issue for me but taller guests may find the low beams problematic.

Good beds, clean, enjoyed the location to shops and restaurants. Tricky to get to by uber.
