We had a great time. The house staff were amazi g and friendly. The town was a hidden gem that we loved as well.

Fabulous historic hotel in the centre. Full of character. Spotlessly clean. The housekeeper is outstanding and super focussed on guest experience. We loved it

En primer lugar, al hacer la reserva ponía: parking e hidromasaje. A más de 100 euros la noche esperas tal cosa. En segundo lugar: el teléfono no corresponde al del alojamiento. NO SE LE PUEDE LLAMAR HOTEL. TUVIMOS QUE DORMIR EN EL COCHE (HE SUBIDO FOTOS DEL ESTADO DE LA HABITACIÓN A GXXGLE). TODO CON MOHO NEGRO (TÓXICO), EL "SOMIER" SON MADERAS VIEJAS Y EL COLCHÓN TIENE 60 AÑOS DE ANTIGÚEDAD. UNA AUTÉNTICA VERHÜENZA. NO HAY ARMARIO, HAY UNA BURRA SIN PERCHAS QUE LA SEÑORA QUE ESTÁ AHÍ DICE QUE "NO TIENE, PORQUR LAS ROBAN". DEBEN ESTAR CARAS LAS PERCHAS EN PORTUGAL.PORQUE PARA COBRAR LO QUE COBRAN DA IGUAL LAS PERCHAS QUE TE ROBEN. VAMOS, QUE LA ROPA TE LA METES POR EL...AL INTENTAR DORMIR EN ESTA CUADRA, ESTANDO EL AIRE ACONDICOONADO APAGADO ESTE HACÍA RUIDO CADA 30 MINUTOS. PERO NO UN RUIDITO...UN RUIDO HORRIBLE. HEMOS DORMIDO EN EL COCHE Y HEMOS TENIDO QUE PONERNOS COMO UNOS ENERGÚMENOS PARA QUE NOS DEVOLVIESEN 2 NOCHES. PORQUE ESA NOCHE INFERNAL NOS LA HAN COBRADO. LA SEÑORA UNA TEATRERA (YO NO SÉ, YO NO PUEDO HACER NADA...ES MI PATRÓN...). EL DESAYUNO: YOGUR, PAN Y UNA LONCHA DE JAMÓN. Y UNA DE QUESO. NO ESPERÉIS NADA. HE ESTADO DE MOCHILERA EN HOSTALES MUCHÍSIMO MEJORES. EL EDIFICIO POR FUERA MUY BONITO. POR DENTRO UNA CERDADA. OS ACONSEJO VER LAS FOTOS DE GOOGLE. QUE ME HA COSTADO SUNIR PORQUE VETAN LAS RESEÑAS. EXPEDIA TAMPOCO ME HA AYUDADO EN NADA. NUNCA MÁS VOLVERÉ A PASARLO TAN MAL.NOS HEMOS VUELTO A ESPAÑA EL MISMO DÍA DE LO MAL QUE LO HEMOS PASADO.INDESCRIPTIBLE

It was a unique experience to stay in a 500 year old property. Breakfast was okay and the service and hospitality were fantastic.

Fomos muito bem recebidos. Todo o serviço foi de excelência. Apenas uma funcionária para todo o serviço da casa. Espero que seja extremamente bem remunerada.

This ‘house’ is more like a miniature castle, stuffed with antiques, curios and paraphernalia of times past. It has personality in spades and will remain in your memory. The photos give you a good idea. We absolutely loved it. The best aspect however was the lady working there, Céu, who is just a delight: so friendly, warm, chatty and couldn’t do enough for you, including cooking delicious cakes for breakfast. She reminded me of being back in my home country of Ireland. Ponte da Barca is small but perfectly formed, with a river beach and famous bridge and a bigger version, equally beautiful, Ponte de Lima, is just down the road. A treasure of a place for those who are happy to forego the modern in favour of character and history.

Staying here is like taking a step in to the past. You won't find 5 star accommodations but will be really happy with the culture service and staff. You're steps to everything this little town has to offer.

Dans une vieille demeure de la noblesse portugaise d’antan, décoration d’époque, assez majestueux. Vous serez reçus par une employée qui s’occupe de tout et vous fait visiter la maison. Si vous avez la possibilité choisissez une chambre au premier plutôt qu’au 2ème sous les toits: ils sont plus beaux (plus chers aussi mais il est possible de réserver en direct en téléphonant ce qui reviendra moins coûteux) Le petit déjeuner est vraiment superbe servi dans l’ancienne cuisine d’époque: bref le clou de ce séjour! Ceú est très attentionnée et sympathique La piscine est plutôt petite et l’eau fraîche mais ce petit jardin est bien agréable. Tables de jeux dont une de billard. Bref un super B&B (plutôt qu’un hôtel) Le bémol pour nous: oreillers et matelas un peu trop durs... Nous reviendrons car très calme, bon accueil et proche du parc do Gerês et localisé dans une très jolie ville

It is an old mansion that has been in one family for many years. Everything in great condition. The owner gave us a tour of the property, it was fascinating. We only stayed one night, but i wish we stayed longer. Great base for exploring near by towns and the national park.

Close to the river and local shops for an enjoyable walk. The property is beautiful and well maintained.

I was impressed by the preserved old vintage building . More of totally out of urban lifestyle. Very small town and less people in there . Nice place for author and people who want to be in quiet pace .

It is an exceptional and loving work of preservation, yet retains the quality of a familial home that has been used by several generations.

We had such a lovely stay at this lovingly restored Portuguese Manor House. Full of wonderful antiques and so comfortable and clean! The pool was a welcome addition which kept our teenage boys happy at the end of a busy day exploring the region. The family were extremely hospitable and between them spoke English, French and Spanish. They were so helpful when it came to booking excursions and finding places to eat out- they gave us insider knowledge of the area! It's an unusual place to stay but we were so glad that we chose it. We got a real taste of North Portugal and the culture of the region here. We experienced a musical festival in the town square, listened to live Portuguese music by the river and watched the locals practice for their Saints day festival in traditional costumes! Something was going on everyday.
