Funchal Design Hotel

Hatten das etwas größere Apartment gebucht. War an manchen Stellen geringfügig dysfunktional. Hotel ist zentral gelegen und fußläufig ist vieles gut erreichbar. Personal ist super nett und das ist gut.

Due to glitch in the reservation system, the hotel was overbook. We were transported by hotel's shuttle to their other property Hotel Quinta Mirabella. Beautiful hotel with excellent views. Every was perfect there.Little bit further from the centre of Funchal, but the hotel provided the shuttle few times per day. There was also bus stop around the corner - very convenient .

The hotel is very close to the city, therefore you have some traffic noise. But the distance is of course also nice - just view steps and you enter the city center!

explored the city of Funchal, went to Porto Moniz, Seixal, and Santana breakfast was good the room could use a coffee machine

Very small, on steep hilly road. Very overpriced for the small room, but the front desk people were very nice and the breakfast was good.

Small hotel.Room was almost L shaped but included small kitchen, dressing area, seating area, shower room as well as bedroom so plenty of space. Breakfast had a good choice, was of excellent quality and staff were very friendly and helpful. There is no communal area or rooftop terrace so this is a hotel for those who want to be out and about for most of the day. In the respect the location is very good for central Funchal and is sufficiently close to the sea front as to not involve much of a hill climb on the return journey.

Este hotel não deveria ter 4 estrela, 2 ou 3 no máximo. Muitos problemas no quarto.

Muy buena ubicación , cerca del centre sin agobios ni ruidos, pequeño ,acojedor , personal amable, limpieza perfecta. Para repetir són duda.

Walking distance to overnight inexpensive parking and to Aerobus back to airport. Breakfast buffet with a la carte options very good. Large grocery store within a couple minutes walk. Easy walking to main center of Funchal.

Nice, clean boutique hotel conveniently located near the heart of Funchal. The airport shuttle dropped us off at the La Vie Shopping Mall, a 5 minutes walk to the hotel. The staff are super-friendly and helpful.

Hotel piccolo ma ottimo servizio, hall dalle dimensioni limitate, parti comune limitate alla sola sala della colazione ma assolutamente comodo. Camere ampie, ho prenotato due camere, leggermente differenti ma entrambe di buona dimensione. In una bagno tutto vetrato e visibile dal letto, nell'altro solo una porta vetrata, scomoda e rumorosa ma ok per design. Prese elettriche in tutta la stanza, molto comoda, accessori bagni buoni, letto comodo, oscuranti non perfetti, può dare fastidio un po' di luce. Tv piccola mai utilizzata. Colazione: buffet molto limitato con pochissime cose dolci e salate ma ottima disponibilità per alcuni piatti cucinati come omelette di vario tipo o toast e caffetteria preparata espressa. Garage un po' caro ma molto comodo a 30 metri dall'ingresso dell'hotel. WiFi non sempre veloce. E' possibile raggiungere la prima linea del mare e il centro in soli 700 metri. Hotel in linea con i costi degli altri hotel, cari in tutta Funchal ma soldi ben spesi. Consigliato.

Bela decoracao, tudo impecavel. Na recepcao o Sr Artur Jorge nos atendeu com muita simpatia e atencao indicando atividades locais e atracoes turisticas fora de Funchal. Meus agradecimento a todos Recomendo.

Lovely hotel and very friendly and accommodating staff.

Bodde på hotellet i 11 netter i samband med jul/ nyttår 2021/22. Nøkkelkortene sluttet å virke altsom oftest og vi måtte ned for å hente nye eller at personalen måtte låse oss inn når vi kom.Dette gikk det dog bedre med de siste dagene. Personalen var meget service minded og var veldig lei seg.Det var trass alt nyttårshelg og vanskelig å få tak i teknisk hjelp. Puter og madrasser hadde trekk med " gummert yte"under putetrekken og laken så det kunne bli ganske klamt etter en stund. Beliggenheten er veldig bra.Kort gåavstand til sentrum,kjøpesenter,havnen...ja,til alt egentlig. Flybussen stopper kun to,tre kvartaler bort. Frokost var helt ok.

De vriendelijkheid en behulpzaamheid van de medewerkers van het hotel verdient echt een 10! De kamer is prima en werd elke dag goed schoon gemaakt. Het ontbijt was eenvoudig maar werd met zorg klaar gezet. De ligging van het hotel is ook prima. Net buiten de drukte van Funchal op maar vijf minuten lopen van het centrum.

The style and design of the hotel suited us. Furniture, lights etc were interesting and obviously chosen with care to suit the style of the place. We appreciated it. Maybe a bit too much black paint, but photo murals of dancers in common areas were a lovely touch. Restaurant was good for breakfast and evening meals. They also supplied take away lunches for trips. Service was very good (good english spoken). Very good location near main west part of town centre, and near stop for Aerobus.

Room was fine plenty of space, bathroom was fine apart from not keen on the painted floor, would be good if it had been tiled. Could not get a picture on the TVs, but did not pursue, Wfi was fine. Good Central position close to the centre in the old part of the city. Breakfast was very good, staff friendly and helpful, English speaking. Hotel information states Airport shuttle incorrect, booked taxi for us at our expense. Would stay again
