Pensão Praça da Figueira

Booked “hotel” in January. Missed fine print-shared bathroom. Emailed & texted them to upgrade to a room with bathroom. Their policy was no changes & no refunds. But you never know til you ask. Waited & waited. You would think a sales organization would jump at the chance of making more money. Not this one. Waited a week then called Expedia for help. They called. They emailed. No response. Finally a week later the “hotel” & Expedia responded to me with no to the upgrade. The “hotel” say they have a 24/7 front desk. I guess they don’t staff it! Argued with Expedia this wasn’t a legitimate business. Back & forth for a week & they gave me a small credit. Arrived in Lisbon this Sunday night. Had map from Expedia website to the “hotel”. Went there. 2 very plain doors & a button. Buzzed & someone let me in. No front desk! This is an apartment building with no reception. This is a scam! Don’t book here! Fortunately I had booked another hotel for a friend. When I discovered I had been scammed I was able to stay with him. Went to Expedia’s website on Sunday - not easy to contact a live person. After an hour found a link to chat. Talked with lady giving her all the details. She was helpful & phoned the “hotel”. She says they answered. If this is true why couldn’t Expedia contact them last January? I have the map to this “hotel” from Expedia. Pictures of the run down doors, the lobby, the non-existent front desk. She couldn’t understand. Ad says EXCELLENT - NOT. Try Trivago.

There is cons and pros regarding this place. The location was amazing and they were service breakfast which was great even though the options were limited. Apparently one floor has shared bathroom which was ok but they didnt have shampoos. Alsothere is no coffee maker in the room

das Hotel hat keinen Aufzug, aber wer gut zu Fuß ist hat ein gemütliches, kleines Zimmer, ausreichendes, gutes Frühstück, freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal und eine prima Lage, direkt am Praca da Figueira. Wir hatten ein Zimmer zum Platz hin, bei geschlossenem Fenster war es sehr ruhig. Vom Bahnhof Apolonia aus gut mit Metro oder Bus zu erreichen. Mercado Bolhao und die Capela das Almas liegen "ums Eck".

Perfekt läge. Rent. 4 trappor utan hiss… Helt ok frukost. Prisvärt!

Great breakfast and clean room

Very helpful staff. Great breakfast to get your day started. I was impressed with this renovated old building located in the middle of Old Lisbon, close to metro, river front, restaurants. The metro station is just steps from the Hotel. Everything walkable.

A note for travelers is that there is no elevator so you have to lug your suitcase up flights of stairs to get to reception and then to your room! Otherwise the place was great for the price and the staff we very friendly.

Breakfast was great!

We stayed here two nights before our cruise out of Lisbon. Location was perfect. Staff was very accommodating. The breakfast included was also perfect. We walked to the cruise port from here.

Location

I will not be returning to this “hotel” ever again. When booking it was not public knowledge that the room that we chose was basically a college dorm style. This was not listed anywhere within the property details or room details. Once we arrived, we had to go up many many flights of stairs there is no elevator. Once I opened up the door there are multiple individual rooms with shared common spaces like the living room, kitchen, and bathrooms. I did not choose a hotel to share spaces with strangers and if this was listed I would have never booked. Very disappointed and this should definitely be public knowledge.

The location and breakfast were the main highlights for me. There are many subway stations close by and also buses, taxis, and bondes, all around Praça da Figueira. The view from my room was beautiful and I had a tiny balcony. Breakfast is a great continental style with fresh cut fruits, yogurt, different fresh pastries and bread, croissant, cakes, and cereal. Great variety! The shared bathroom was always available and super clean. I hadn’t had to wait not once to use it. It’s a great cost benefit!

Pour des personnes recherchant Prix/Qualité 3*. L'endroit est propre, Déjeuner très bon, Air conditionné. Situation géographique très bien. (Resto, Métro, Tram, taxi). La seule chose négative est qu'il n'y a pas d'ascenseur.

This place was perfect right in the hub of the downtown of Lisbon, has a good amount of shared washrooms. Was never waiting, and every time was nice and clean, just a bit smelly but what can you do lol. Rooms were also clean with a small balcony which is always a nice bonus, we stayed on the town square side, and was a beautiful view! Breakfast was delicious everything I needed and more, simple but perfect has everything you could ask for not to mention it was included which is amazing. Only stayed the one night but was everything me and my partner needed, and the front desk staff are extremely friendly, gave us recommendations for places to eat, and when checking out let us keep are bags behind the desk so we could continue exploring without the hassle of lugging around are packs. Thank you again!
