This was my fourth stay at the Aqualuz. The hotel is perfect for me, and it is right in the middle of one of my favourite parts of the world to visit. I am there for work, so I have ideal access for where I need to be, in an extremely comfortable hotel, with spacious rooms and great facilities (including breakfast, the pool, and the bars/restaurants), and (the highlight) to have near-direct access to an incredibly beautiful beach. Staying at Aqualuz each year is one of my favourite things to do in life.

Absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful hotel right on the beach. Would absolutely recommend and stay again. Staff was friendly and helpful. Close walk to the beach and to the dock area with plenty of dining options and Casino. Indoor pool is a big plus for when weather isn’t ideal for outdoor pool and beach. My kids enjoyed the kids club child care for the adults to get a break. Breakfast buffet was fabulous. Can’t wait to return and stay here again.

Fabulous place; peaceful and beautiful area, huge sandy beach with shallow water. Hotel has a lovely pool, its staff was very friendly spacious room with large terrace and amazing view. Fantastic breakfasts The only minus for me was lack of coffee/tea maker, I think hotel at this standard should provide it.

The suites are spacious, clean and well laid out. The communal areas are well maintained and clean too and it is an easy walk to the beach. The staff was friendly at all levels but had little information to offer (and no initiative to try to find answers or solutions) when asked questions. The breakfast seems to have received good reviews from other guests, but it was quite frankly very ordinary- most disappointingly, the "juice" was a weak artificial machine mix - strange for Portugal. A "double bed" consists of two single beds put together which is uncomfortable. There are of course solutions where two beds can be joined without a notable "crack" in the middle, but that doesn't seem to be something they worry about at this hotel. I also find it strange that the apartment suites didn't have bottle openers and wine glasses as default - again, this is Portugal... These might seem like small issues, but we expected better

The studio room was similar to the description given and the living space is quite spacious and renovated (bedroom and living room area). The kitchnette is well equipped. The toilet room was ok but could benefit from fixing some parts (e.g. the bathtub floor was rusty). The communication at the reception was not good, they gave no information regarding the restaurants, breakfast, activities for kids, etc. And that information is not available at the room or via the tv app so the first hours you will be a bit lost regarding what is available. There is a baby and a kids rooms with some activities. Breakfast has a good variety but at the latter hours the queues can be very long. Dinner has a good selection, but be aware that thr opening time is 19.30h which can be challenging with kids. The stay was ok but considering that it is a 4-star hotel and the price charged per night we were expecting much more.

Das Hotel ist insgesamt gut und die vier Sterne sind gerechtfertigt. Allerdings merkt man, dass es in die Jahre gekommen ist – die letzte Renovierung liegt wohl über 15 Jahre zurück, und ein Facelifting wäre inzwischen angebracht. Das Frühstücksbuffet bietet eine große Auswahl, allerdings ist das Angebot täglich identisch. Eine bessere Organisation der Platzvergabe am Morgen wäre wünschenswert, da es teilweise zu langen Wartezeiten kommt. Die Klimaanlage hat nur wenig gekühlt und war zudem recht laut. Trotz Meldung an der Rezeption und angeblicher Überprüfung konnten wir keine Verbesserung feststellen. Positiv hervorzuheben sind das freundliche, hilfsbereite Personal und die zentrale Lage – Strand, Streetfood-Stände und verschiedene Ladenlokale sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Der Pool ist groß, jedoch gibt es eher wenige Liegestühle, sodass es oft schwierig war, einen Platz zu finden. Fazit: Ein solides Hotel mit Stärken bei Lage und Service, aber auch mit klaren Modernisierungs- und Organisationspotenzialen.

Check in malo. Sin ni gina indicación ni explicación del funcionamiento del hotel. Camas bastante incómodas, los colchones se hunden. Limpieza “minimalista” /mala pero diaria. “Tapan” las camas sin siquiera sacudir la arena. No aspiran ni limpian muebles… solo hacen los sanitarios. No te explican funcionamiento de la cocina ni piscina (se supone que lo has de leer tu en el menú de la TV) . El desayuno es de mediocre a malo. Cada día exactamente lo mismo de mediocre o mala calidad. Hay fruta fresca pero siempre la misma. Teníamos estropeado el desagüe del baño, el aspirador de la cocina y el teléfono. Nunca vinieron a arreglarlo. En general nada grave, pero para el precio que piden, no corresponde este servicio. Lo mejor: vistas maravillosas, localización muy practica y a pie de playa, grandes espacios en lobby y habitaciones y personal muy amable (aunque ineficiente)

It was probably a nice place to stay years ago but now it is old, not a good maintenance. The door under the sink in the bathroom really need to be replaced. Probably a nice place for family and kids but unfortunately not for us. I should read more about the description before booking. This is only my mistake.

Gostei do Hotel, vistas lindas, a piscina é grande, e pequeno almoço era bom; Pontos menos positivos: Ficamos meio dia sem energia no quarto. (Numa estadia de 3 noites) Referimos que o exaustor não funcionava e nada fizeram, sendo que ficava um cheiro de cozinhados por todo o quarto e roupa. Pequeno almoço sempre repetitivo. Poucas espreguiçadeiras, para tantos hóspedes, e terem situações de retirar os pertences das pessoas que tinham deixado na piscina.

Absolutely disappointing. The hotel property was advertised with wellness centre, pool, gym etc. however, it seemed to be all under maintenance at the same time. The condition of the indoor pool was absolutely filthy and unclean. Me and my partner had to travel to another hotel to use their swimming pool. No help from management. Staff at reception admitted pool had not been clean and poor management. Booked a massage and the masseuse never showed up on the agreed date, she then sent a text message saying she had to cancel last minute. This hotel has a lot of potential, unfortunately it does not meet the standards of a 4 star hotel. Very expensive stay for unusable facilities. Waste of money!

Na chegada não foi comunicado o que tinha para oferecer de instalações e de refeições. Estadia sem agua quente onde existiu comunicação com a recepção e foi prometido que o problema estava resolvido no dia anterior a noite. Fomos obrigados a dar a bebé com agua aquecida em cafeteira. Dia seguinte o problema persistiu. Casa de banho em mau estado. Camas extremamente desconfortareis.

Très déçue de la qualité de l’hôtel. Chambres vieillottes, ménage fait à la va vite. Besoin d’un grand rafraîchissement. Pas digne d’un 4*. Équipements en panne comme le sauna, jacuzzi, etc. Très cher pour la qualité de l’hôtel. Seul point fort la gentillesse des animateurs.

This was my fourth stay at the Aqualuz. The hotel is perfect for me, and it is right in the middle of one of my favourite parts of the world to visit. I am there for work, so I have ideal access for where I need to be, in an extremely comfortable hotel, with spacious rooms and great facilities (including breakfast, the pool, and the bars/restaurants), and (the highlight) to have near-direct access to an incredibly beautiful beach. Staying at Aqualuz each year is one of my favourite things to do in life.

The suites are spacious, clean and well laid out. The communal areas are well maintained and clean too and it is an easy walk to the beach. The staff was friendly at all levels but had little information to offer (and no initiative to try to find answers or solutions) when asked questions. The breakfast seems to have received good reviews from other guests, but it was quite frankly very ordinary- most disappointingly, the "juice" was a weak artificial machine mix - strange for Portugal. A "double bed" consists of two single beds put together which is uncomfortable. There are of course solutions where two beds can be joined without a notable "crack" in the middle, but that doesn't seem to be something they worry about at this hotel. I also find it strange that the apartment suites didn't have bottle openers and wine glasses as default - again, this is Portugal... These might seem like small issues, but we expected better

The studio room was similar to the description given and the living space is quite spacious and renovated (bedroom and living room area). The kitchnette is well equipped. The toilet room was ok but could benefit from fixing some parts (e.g. the bathtub floor was rusty). The communication at the reception was not good, they gave no information regarding the restaurants, breakfast, activities for kids, etc. And that information is not available at the room or via the tv app so the first hours you will be a bit lost regarding what is available. There is a baby and a kids rooms with some activities. Breakfast has a good variety but at the latter hours the queues can be very long. Dinner has a good selection, but be aware that thr opening time is 19.30h which can be challenging with kids. The stay was ok but considering that it is a 4-star hotel and the price charged per night we were expecting much more.

Das Hotel ist insgesamt gut und die vier Sterne sind gerechtfertigt. Allerdings merkt man, dass es in die Jahre gekommen ist – die letzte Renovierung liegt wohl über 15 Jahre zurück, und ein Facelifting wäre inzwischen angebracht. Das Frühstücksbuffet bietet eine große Auswahl, allerdings ist das Angebot täglich identisch. Eine bessere Organisation der Platzvergabe am Morgen wäre wünschenswert, da es teilweise zu langen Wartezeiten kommt. Die Klimaanlage hat nur wenig gekühlt und war zudem recht laut. Trotz Meldung an der Rezeption und angeblicher Überprüfung konnten wir keine Verbesserung feststellen. Positiv hervorzuheben sind das freundliche, hilfsbereite Personal und die zentrale Lage – Strand, Streetfood-Stände und verschiedene Ladenlokale sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Der Pool ist groß, jedoch gibt es eher wenige Liegestühle, sodass es oft schwierig war, einen Platz zu finden. Fazit: Ein solides Hotel mit Stärken bei Lage und Service, aber auch mit klaren Modernisierungs- und Organisationspotenzialen.

Absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful hotel right on the beach. Would absolutely recommend and stay again. Staff was friendly and helpful. Close walk to the beach and to the dock area with plenty of dining options and Casino. Indoor pool is a big plus for when weather isn’t ideal for outdoor pool and beach. My kids enjoyed the kids club child care for the adults to get a break. Breakfast buffet was fabulous. Can’t wait to return and stay here again.

Check in malo. Sin ni gina indicación ni explicación del funcionamiento del hotel. Camas bastante incómodas, los colchones se hunden. Limpieza “minimalista” /mala pero diaria. “Tapan” las camas sin siquiera sacudir la arena. No aspiran ni limpian muebles… solo hacen los sanitarios. No te explican funcionamiento de la cocina ni piscina (se supone que lo has de leer tu en el menú de la TV) . El desayuno es de mediocre a malo. Cada día exactamente lo mismo de mediocre o mala calidad. Hay fruta fresca pero siempre la misma. Teníamos estropeado el desagüe del baño, el aspirador de la cocina y el teléfono. Nunca vinieron a arreglarlo. En general nada grave, pero para el precio que piden, no corresponde este servicio. Lo mejor: vistas maravillosas, localización muy practica y a pie de playa, grandes espacios en lobby y habitaciones y personal muy amable (aunque ineficiente)

It was probably a nice place to stay years ago but now it is old, not a good maintenance. The door under the sink in the bathroom really need to be replaced. Probably a nice place for family and kids but unfortunately not for us. I should read more about the description before booking. This is only my mistake.

Gostei do Hotel, vistas lindas, a piscina é grande, e pequeno almoço era bom; Pontos menos positivos: Ficamos meio dia sem energia no quarto. (Numa estadia de 3 noites) Referimos que o exaustor não funcionava e nada fizeram, sendo que ficava um cheiro de cozinhados por todo o quarto e roupa. Pequeno almoço sempre repetitivo. Poucas espreguiçadeiras, para tantos hóspedes, e terem situações de retirar os pertences das pessoas que tinham deixado na piscina.

Absolutely disappointing. The hotel property was advertised with wellness centre, pool, gym etc. however, it seemed to be all under maintenance at the same time. The condition of the indoor pool was absolutely filthy and unclean. Me and my partner had to travel to another hotel to use their swimming pool. No help from management. Staff at reception admitted pool had not been clean and poor management. Booked a massage and the masseuse never showed up on the agreed date, she then sent a text message saying she had to cancel last minute. This hotel has a lot of potential, unfortunately it does not meet the standards of a 4 star hotel. Very expensive stay for unusable facilities. Waste of money!

Fabulous place; peaceful and beautiful area, huge sandy beach with shallow water. Hotel has a lovely pool, its staff was very friendly spacious room with large terrace and amazing view. Fantastic breakfasts The only minus for me was lack of coffee/tea maker, I think hotel at this standard should provide it.

Na chegada não foi comunicado o que tinha para oferecer de instalações e de refeições. Estadia sem agua quente onde existiu comunicação com a recepção e foi prometido que o problema estava resolvido no dia anterior a noite. Fomos obrigados a dar a bebé com agua aquecida em cafeteira. Dia seguinte o problema persistiu. Casa de banho em mau estado. Camas extremamente desconfortareis.
