Villa Herencia Hotel

Room was clean, although it was hard to use the mirror when putting on makeup. Staff was very nice.

This place is amazing exactly what i was looking for ....old and rustic look....very clean and old Spanish style....and super location no car needed

Villa Herencia is a charming and unique boutique hotel- in a perfect location for exploring Old San Juan- quiet location but easily accessible to all the restaurants, museums, historic sites in Okd San Juan. The hotel has a nice courtyard and fantastic rooftop open air lounge with comfortable seating and cool old fashioned soaking tubs for cooling off, and a great place for morning coffee or evening cocktails. The rooms are charming with beautiful tiles and bathrooms. Simply sublime- would definitely stay here again!!

Excellent location in the heart of historic Old San Juan. Rooftop terrace provided breaks from sightseeing while still allowing us to take in the vibe. Wedding procession and dance in the street below was a bonus!

Loved this character-ful property. More a guest house than a hotel because it has very limited services, but lovely and historic. Really helpful and cheerful staff, though desk hours were a bit erratic. They said the desk runs to 1pm but some days it was later. Our first night it rained heavily and the room filled with an overpowering musty smell, and we worried, but it subsided the next day and was fine again. So not sure what happened there. The property is very quiet and peaceful. Guests seemed to respect the atmosphere. Tip: the hotel is at the very western edge of Old San Juan so you will add a LOT of time in taxis getting around, because traffic gets really bad in the area and they randomly close a key access road sometimes. We found it was easier and far cheaper to walk 5 mins east to bigger roads and get picked up/dropped off there (walking 5 mins to a big road where the one way traffic is going your intended direction can save you many times that in taxis).

It was so easy to get in, our room was clean, we loved the courtyard area and rooftop! Such a lovely space with so much history and character. Our room had no windows, but the high ceilings made it feel spacious and open. We loved the location to everything in Old San Juan!

The overall vibe of the hotel is something out of a movie. You feel back in time but with modern amenities. Highly recommend staying here

Great historical hotel with great location. Within walking distance to all historic sites in Old San Juan

Beautiful old building close to El Morro and La Fortaleza. Not a great place for driving but wonderful for walking. I particularly enjoyed reading on the rooftop patio.

Comfort and location convenience

The facilities were beautiful & well kept. Location was great! Highly recommend staying.

I enjoy sitting out on the rooftop patio. The neighborhood is lovely for walking and exploring. The only downside is the taxi ride from the airport -- horrible traffic congestion in Old San Juan.

Incredible style and architecture, gorgeous courtyard, great bedding, very clean. Location perfect although Uber didn’t want to go out there during holiday traffic. It took us an half hour to find a driver. Our downstairs room was incredibly small, barely navigable around the bed. So beware which room you reserve. The bathroom was more practical in size, but part of the bathroom wall wasn’t very soundproof to the next room. There is a flat entry and one room at that level off the courtyard, then two steps up to other floor level courtyard rooms. No elevator to upper floor.
