Unfortunately, this is not a 5‑star hotel experience I’m really disappointed to be spending 7 nights in what I believed would be a 5‑star hotel. We accidentally booked the wrong “Grand Hotel” — it turns out there are two with very similar names — and the difference in quality is shocking. Main issues: • Extremely hard beds, making it difficult to sleep comfortably • A strong sewage smell in our room, completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming 5 stars • Very poor breakfast variety, far below the expected standard • The hotel is old, dirty, and clearly in need of major refurbishment. • Non‑functioning air conditioning, resulting in extremely poor air quality in the room • We had to sleep with the door open just to breathe, which meant listening to all the traffic noise outside throughout the night Overall: This hotel does not meet 5‑star standards in comfort, cleanliness, maintenance, or service. A very disappointing experience.

Our room was extremely spacious and comfortable. The check-in process was straightforward and the staff was helpful. The location was perfect for exploring Bucharest.

Nice hotel and room. There was a surprise cake and prosecco in our room, which was lovely.

Kamer was schoon alles fris en nieuwe vloerbedekking. Alleen douchen in bad kan echt niet meer in 2025. Behulpzaam personeel en mooie fitness zwembad en gezellige bar!

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times in the past, but this visit was an absolute disappointment. It’s clear that the property has aged significantly and that maintenance is no longer a priority. From the moment I arrived, the issues started. The shower was broken, the magnifying makeup mirror light didn’t work because the bulb was burnt out, and the bathroom trash bin was damaged and dirty. The pedal you step on to lift the lid was broken, leaving only a sharp metal piece exposed — something you could easily injure yourself on. Housekeeping was another major problem. From day one, the shower gel dispenser had barely a finger of product left, and for two days no one refilled it. When I finally asked the housekeeper about it, she told me she had no product because the bottles had recently been changed, and that I should go to the front desk myself to request a refill. This is completely unacceptable for a supposed 5-star hotel. Throughout my entire 7-night stay, the room was never vacuumed even once. I had dropped some cookie crumbs the first day, and I watched them remain on the floor for a full week — being stepped on every day. Another inconvenience: the front desk never had change when I needed to break larger bills. Again, something that should not be an issue in a hotel claiming 5-star standards.And when it was time to leave, there was no bellboy available to help with luggage — not to bring the bags from the room, not even to assist with loading them into a taxi

Staff were so helpful, the food was delicious and the spa was great

Camera molto bella, ma almeno uno scovolino in bagno….poi la vasca da bagno ormai è superata. Colazione: da un ( stelle ci si aspetta un servizio, una scelta maggiore, almeno una spremuta fresca). Posizione ottima e prezzo ottimo

Dit was echt het meest luxe hotel waar ik ben verbleven. Het heeft wel de communist show off vibe maar het is goed onderhouden. De bedden liggen heerlijk, het zwembad heeft een mooi uitzicht en is lekker warm. De ligging is ideaal, twee van mijn tours starten direct ernaast. Een echte aanrader zeker ook voor de prijs kwaliteit verhouding

Vi måtte skifte værelse fordi døren ikke kunne låse. Nyt værelse havde en ekstra seng midt i det hele og havde tydeligvis ikke været gjort rent for nyligt. Skrald under seng og støvet. Lugtede hengemt. Badeværelset var meget slidt.

Bleach the smelly shower curtain. Improve the grounds. The entrance drive needs areas of kerb stones and gravel, redone. Get an English language (not Al Jazeera) rolling news channel on the tv system. Offer pancakes at breakfast since there is a chef already on-hand to make omelettes.

The room was clean with a comfortable bed. I had a balcony along with a nice view. The hotel lobby was nice and staff were helpful. What i didnt like was the tub in the bathroom as it was deep and high which made it difficult to shower. I slipped when climbing out. Also the checkout process was terrible and I had to pull out my credit card again to complete payment, sign a document and then was able to leave. Why isnt this done up front when you are obviously in a rush at checkout if you are headed to the airport. At 4am, i was not in the mood to go thru all of this and I just wanted to drop the key off and leave. Please improve the checkout process.
