Black Bull Gartmore

This community owned and run Inn is fantastic. The staff and locals are friendly and could not be more welcoming. The bedrooms are large and well appointed and quiet. The chefs do a great job producing excellent home cooked meals. The only thing to remember is that they don’t serve evening meals on Monday or Tuesday but as there are other places locally this was not an issue.

The Black Bull was cosy and comfortable and the food was amazing. Helpful, friendly staff. We will definitely be back.

Een geweldige accommodatie in Gartmore. Lieve mensen en een geweldig restaurant en bar. Grote kamer met goede voorzieningen. Lekker groot bed en goede badkamer.

Beautifully updated property near Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was large with a king size bed, a lovely view from the window, large bathroom room with a large enclosed shower. Nice soap and shampoo. We had a delicious dinner in the restaurant.

We found Jack and the staff to be very friendly and accommodating which made our stay even more enjoyable.

The bar and restaurant menus were superb! The room was large and had a lovely view. Breakfast and coffee were top notch. I wish we had booked the Black Bull Inn for the entirety of our stay here in the highlands.

Such a wonderful place to stay. Gartmore was central to our visit. The village is one street long. Locals own and run the inn. Definitely recommend.

The Black Bull was built as an inn in 1740. Gartmore is a quaint village with nearby walking paths. There are no shops or other things, but it is beautiful for it's countryside views and a nearby path. Also, the food is outstanding at the Black Bull. The menu is small but the chef makes it all count with each plate masterfully executed. I had a traditional chicken recipe stuffed with haggis and it was so tender and flavorful. I had to personally go thank the chef; it was just that tasty.

Black bull bietet gemütliche Zimmer. Es ist sehr ruhig und die Betten sind bequem. Leider gibt es keinen Aufzug, allerdings in einem alten Gasthof auch nicht zu erwarten. Das Gebäude ist in gutem Zustand. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Frühstück bestellt man am Vortag, leider ist die Auswahl für längere Aufenthalte etwas zu gering, hier hätten wir uns Salat und Aufschnitt gewünscht. Am Abend kann man in der wunderbaren Bar entspannen oder im Restaurant essen. Parkplätze gibt es vor dem Eingang. Eine Bushaltestelle ist direkt am Gasthof, hier fahren regelmäßig Busse nach Glasgow und Stirling. Ein Auto ist trotzdem zu empfehlen, um die Umgebung zu erkunden oder einkaufen zu fahren. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Lovely community run pub with loads of local history and great location in heart of the village. Friendly and helpful staff offered great service. Pub grub delivered with a smile and good value and very tasty. Breakfast cooked to order by the Chef and excellent start to the day. My second visit and certainly not my last. Thank you BB Gartmore

Beautiful room. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed the night we were staying, but we were able to enjoy a couple of pints in the pub after we arrived.

Loved it. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Room was comfortable and really big. Ate in the restuarant both nights of our stay..the brownie was delicious! Definitely would recommend.

Excellent 1 night stay at the hotel, room was clean and comfortable, easy parking, bar area was pleasant and food in the restaurant excellent, will definately return on my next visit to the area.
