The room was great. Breakfast fry up was cold. The fruit salad pieces were too hard...not ready.

Great location between city center and hydro. Helpful staff and good facilities.

Lovely hotel and very comfortable. Food wasn’t great but apparently there was a new chef who was a bit overwhelmed when we chose to eat there. It’s convenient to walk into the city centre but parking is not good. The hotel only has 5 spaces (2 are disabled) so expect to pay to park and it is shockingly expensive outside the hotel. There is a Q park about 10 mins walk though.

The window in our room did not open at all, not even the teensiest crack. 1. Heaven help you if you're trapped in there in the event of a fire. 2. This means you're at the mercy of the aircon, which is never a good thing. The veggie sausages at breakfast were sad refugees from the 90s... texture and taste of sawdust. Could do better. Other than that; all good! Staff were friendly and helpful. Location perfect for us. Didn't use the spa so can't comment on that.

Clean hotel with friendly and welcoming reception staff, however the breakfast room experience was deeply disappointing. Whilst I stepped out briefly to take a phone call, staff cleared my daughter's plate despite being able to clearly see she had not finished and was returning to the table (this was at 9.15am). At 9:28am minutes before the advertised end of breakfast service of 9.30am, she was refused toast and told it was too late. If breakfast is served until 9:30am, guests should be able to obtain their food until that time and be able to finish it. Actively clearing plates from unfinished diners and ushering everyone out of the room on the dot is unacceptable. I have no issue with staff preventing new food from being taken after the cut-off point but not before and guests who have already been served should be allowed to finish their meal in peace. This behaviour, particularly towards a young person whom they picked on because I had to leave the room to take a works call was completely unnecessary and left a very poor impression of an otherwise decent hotel.

Our ‘Apartment’ room was very spacious with a nice brick wall feature. The room had a small kitchen area with a useful mini fridge and it also had a microwave and air fryer. However oddly there were no plates or cutlery so making those appliances somewhat redundant if you actually wanted to use them to cook something. If we’d wanted to sit at the small breakfast bar there were no seats/stools to use at the bar which would be useful. The room featured two large TVs and sofa seating. The bed was a standard size double (as advertised), but we felt there was a missed opportunity to fit a larger size bed which would better suite the ‘apartment’ offering as an enhancement adding extra value. Whilst there were plenty of plug sockets around the room, there were no sockets beside or near the bed, so when using your phone as an alarm it has to sit on the other side of the room which isn’t ideal. The room is highlighted as ‘soundproofed’ however we were kept awake through to 2am due to a lot of noise (banging, heavy footsteps) from the floor above and during the next day this noise even sounded like furniture was being dragged around so this unfortunately meant we didn’t have the best nights sleep. The bathroom featured a bath/shower and was nice and clean. Overall a reasonable stay, but we did feel let down somewhat where a little thought and attention to detail in what is provided would go a long way to enhance the facilities.

Breakfast was disappointing possibly due to international football teams being on premises however that should not be an excuse for the staff failing to keep hot buffet stocked everything had run out and had to ask for it to be replenished
