Kick Ass Grassmarket - Adults Only - Hostel

Staff were very friendly. The water temperature on level 2 showers was beyond inhumane. At least 40+ Celsius. Showered on level 2 were better since you could adjust the temperature. There weren’t lifts so had to take my 20kg luggage to the 3rd floor. Staff were really friendly, toilets were generally clean. The top of bunk beds were disgustingly dirty. Dust accumulated for years probably. Ventilation on the room was poor and inside the cubicle as well making it hard to sleep

Toilet and shower areas are always clean. Pod gives you just the amount of privacy. Storages are enough to accommodate both personal and carry on luggages. If there's one thing I would suggest is an option to rent or have an AC or Fan in the Pod it's the only uncomfy part of staying there for me but overall everything was perfect.

Here's my honest review: The pros: + The emplacement: How convenient it was it's right in the heart of Edinburg, you can walk to all the cool spots nearby. I highly enjoyed that. + The staff: There were all really cool, grateful to all of them. + The decoration: How cool they've made it for an urban hostel. + The price: Very convenient. + Private bathrooms + showers. + Awesome breakfast: Highly recommend to take the added option, it had a sweet selection and the cost was great too! The cons: No elevator: If you are in the third floor like I was with a luggage, get ready to do some stairs. The above pods: If you have a place in the upper parts, you will have to climb, just to be aware. Moving toilet floor: I had the impression that floor was moving, I think it was because it was the movement of the car from the street below. Thank you for having made my trip a great one!

Everything about this hostel was awful. From the experience at check in all the way until check out. They don't tell you there is no lift, so if you have a suitcase be prepared to schlep it of several lights upstairs. The guys at the front desk were rude and uncaring. Any requests were met with rolling eyes, and they acted like it was a huge imposition. The bunk beds had zero privacy. A few were up against the wall, but the rest were in the middle of the room with no curtains. You got a single duvet, and I'd be shocked if they were washed in-between guests, no sheet was offered as a barrier. ALL showers and bathrooms are co-ed, with the exception of one toilet on each floor. When i came back from dinner one evening around 9:45, everyone in my dorm was already aleep with lights out. It made it extremely difficult to get my things out of my locker with no light, and so I didn't shower or even brush my teeth that night as I didn't want to disturb anyone, because the door was ridiculously loud. And the lockers don't have locks, so if you don't have one, you'll have to buy one from the front desk. Other hostels I've been too are locked with your keycard. If you aren't checked out by 10am, they lock you out of the room, and then you have to go all the way back downstairs to get them to unlock it, again, lots more eye-rolling, and they give you a WHOPPING extra 10 minutes before you're locked out again! Stay here if you want to be treated like you're attending Summer Camp!

El hostel esta muy bien, esta en una ubicación increíble. Además, tiene un desayuno muy bueno y el personal muy agradable. Las camas son cómodas. Lo único que no me gustó mucho fue que en mi pieza, que tenía baño incluido, la ducha era poco práctica, el agua no salía muy caliente, no se podía maneral el cabezal de la ducha y por último, no tenía secador de pelo. Pero el resto, estaba super bien.

Es ist ein klassisches Hostel. Ne Horde junger Leute auf Durchreise, alles simpel gehalten, aber im ordentlichen Zustand.

Super auberge ! Emplacement hyper pratique, très propre, calme, personnel sympathique, pas mal d’espace dans les dortoirs et espaces communs…

Good for meeting people if you really want to. But if you're not into meeting people it's a nice place to stay at too

Baños bastante limpios a pesar de ser compartidos. Colchón cómodo. Menos un día, la gente respetaba el silencio de la habitación. El desayuno con poca variedad. Muy buena ubicación. Sitio recomendable.

One of the best hostels we have stayed in. We had a private room, which was large and we had plenty of room. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location was fantastic, in the middle of the city centre. Unfortunately, it is an old building and sound travels around it. Our room was next to a door and we could hear it banging closed all night as others moved around the hostel. The hostel does supply free ear plugs, which helped somewhat. That being said it isna lovely old building with some clear history.

La verdad si vuelvo a ir a la ciudad sin duda me volveré a hospedar aquí.
