Small but cozy room

Vi bodde to netter på Glencoe Inn. Vi spiste middag på hotellrestaurantet. Ikke veldig imponerende, men helt ok. Selve restauranten var lite koselig innredet. Vi sov svært dårlig første natt grunnet rom ut mot hovedveien, men en veldig hyggelig dame i resepsjonen fikset et nytt, og mye bedre rom der også vanntrykket i dusj og vask var normalt. Takk! Kveld nummer to spiste vi fish and chips i den andre restauranten. Ok mat, men nok en gang veldig ukoselig sted. Hotellet ligger sentralt til med tanke på flotte naturopplevelser og fjellturer. Det har stort potensiale til å være et koselig sted, men per nå er det dessverre ikke det.

Staff were very friendly and engaging. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower was terrible, no pressure at all. The restaurant was nice, but the food was way overpriced.

We arrived around 9pm. The young man in the office did not greet us upon entry. He showed us to our room. Husband asked if he could add 3 postcards to their outgoing mail. The man suggested instead he walk (in the rain) a few blocks to the post office. It took 30 minutes. By the time husband returned, the young man had left, they took away the free whiskey decanter and said the cash bar was also closed. The whiskey bar was the cool factor, the reason i booked here. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service. The room was tiny and we had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs juggling a door at the top and another at the bottom. Glencoe Inn doesn't even compare to the Glengarry Castle which was beautiful, spacious amd had excellent customer service - AND cost less! I would not go back to Glencoe Inn. For $359 USD for one night, i expected top notch service but instead got that of a Motel 6. Had I spent half that price, I'd be ok with it, but not for what we paid.

Kind of a weird property? Smelled strange, perhaps just old. Out of date restaurant menus on the website, dull atmosphere in the “fancier” restaurant. Don’t bother with the fish and chips place, the driest and most bland I’ve ever had. There was a stain on one of the pillowcases in the room. Overall the stay was just okay

The room was really small with a bunk bed. No chairs or space for the luggage. There was no elevator and with my back problem the staff while checking out was rude and initially refused to help but finally brought it down. It is in a very nice and convenient location. There was no food at the restaurant for vegetarians.

The Inn was quite shabby and they were unprepared for the number of guests they had. Of the five or six items on the menu in the restaurant two were unavailable at our seating. A relatively limited breakfast was 19 pounds per person. Definitely not worth the rate.

Pretty run down and pretty expensive. Dog odour in our room was strong

Excellent lodge. We had the signature room with the bathtub and had a great view over the lake.

The staff at the hotel were helpful but we had several challenges during our stay that were a bit out of their hands (power outage, etc). Bright spots were the hot tub access outside and staff help. Downsides was that the family bunk room we booked was surprisingly tiny (like we had to take all but one suitcase back to the car because it was too small to even have them there). Pictures didn’t convey this and Staff said the Hotel is due for a refresh, so maybe in a year it will be

Lovely staff that tried very hard to accommodate. Several items not on menu as stated. Great rooms and really comfortable.

Under all kritik. Jag har inga höga förväntningar på hotell i England givet att standarden är lägre än många andra delar av Europa. Dock är detta något helt annat. Hotellet är smutsigt, nedgånget och det luktar väldigt illa. Personalen är som tagna ur en komedi och är såväl otrevliga samt har ingen känsla för service eller något annat. Det gick t.ex inte att äta middag på hotellet pga ”ett annat större sällskap”, vilket inte var sant då restaurangen var så gott som tom hela kvällen. Baren var sagd att stänga 21.30, men vid 20.20 stängde den istället. Utan varken bar eller restaurang, men mitt ute i ingenstans blev det en lång och hungrig kväll. Jag vill varna alla, bo inte här

The bald (sry) server was actually shaking his head in despair to see us arrive om time for breakfast. Its as if he did not want us there. Being an american I did confront him, if you dont want us here we domt need to eat here. He said ' no no its ok its fine' People come here om vacatiom. It shouldn't feel like a hospital where everyone is in pain. The property itself is very old not like how it looks on photos. They pretty much put a lipstick on a pig. Please spend ypur money elsewhere.

Quite difficult to access the room with luggage. Car park is a long walk.

The price is insanely high for what you get. I feel robbed.

There’s a lot to say about this place. I had initially booked it back in fall 2024 and hadn’t seen the poor reviews. The week of our stay I had a bad feeling about going to stay at this hotel, and I read the reviews and almost cancelled our trip to the area and changed our route. I wish I had. The hotel itself is located pretty centrally in Glencoe. But beyond that, it was nowhere near as advertised on the website. Our room was free of clutter, but very dusty. It seemed to only be clean of debris on the floor, but all the trim had a thick layer of dust on it. The bathroom also looked to be nice upon first look, but the shower head had a lot of black build up on it. We also had a completely backed up shower drain that caused water to spill over the lip of the shower. The hotel advertises having restaurants but no availability and hours change constantly. It should not be advertised as a five star hotel and I regret staying.

Very noisy dogs in bar made eating in the restaurant unbearable

The food at the hotel restaurant was terrible. Even tho they claim to be 5 star fine dining. The staff were very kind and helpful but just seemed undertrained. Our room was small hot and stuffy just didn’t match the high price. The bar wasent staffed to make any cocktails Overall just too high of a price for what it was
