The Pierrooms

Not as I expected, very small and dark room with an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. I booked expecting a better quality due to the 8.2 rating on hotels.com, definitely not more than 7.2 in my opinion. The room is pretty dark and claustrophobic. Our room had a bathroom adapted for the disabled which made it not so suitable for myself and my husband. The sink was tiny with no plug which made washing difficult and the wet room style bathroom completely flooded when taking a shower which then meant you got wet feet when using the toilet for the next few hours. The bed was okay but not fantastic and as it was against the wall, i had to climb over my husband to get out of bed in the night to use the bathroom which then woke him up, not ideal. I didn’t have any contact with the owner or anyone else as it is an unmanned property. The location is fantastic but was difficult to find, clearer directions when booking was confirmed would have been very helpful. There isn’t parking anywhere near to the rooms and no road access either as it is literally on the pier, again, this information would have been helpful instead of having to go into the ferry office to see if they knew where it was. Overall a very basic rental which might suit many travellers but not for me unfortunately.

good location with clean room , for short stay are very good ¬ btw n the room doesn't have windows and sometime you can hear upstairs step because upstairs is an restaurant ¬

Ventillation très bruyante et pas dans les locaux au dessus des chambres jusque tard et tôt le matin. Lit et Salle d'eau ok.

It's like staying in a cave. No windows at all....in my room anyway. Room very tidy and good bathroom. Location was the main reason to stay here.

Rather pricey for a windowless room with a bed accessible only from one side; but for one night met our needs

Good location , initial door access via app is a bit confusing but once in room it’s a normal card so easier. Oban isn’t great for car parking so book in advance if travelling by car. Room was fine and had a/c - fine for a short stay

No fuss accomodation that was spot on for us

Room very compact. Bed comfortable. Downside no windows but temperature control did not feel stuffy. Good shower and hot water. Ideal location very central.

Pyttesmå rum med våningssängar där man slog i huvudet när man skulle in eller ut. Trasigt lås till ena rummet. Ingen parkering i närheten

The bed and floor were clean and we were only using it to sleep to be fair but the join under the sink kept soaking the floor and the kettle looked mouldy inside so we never got a cuppa. Also you can't share the room key link so my vaping partner had to keep borrowing my phone to go outside. Still was never supposed to be a room to hang out in properly I guess.

The property was good

The room is spotlessly clean and check in was easy. This is so efficient! Guests should understand there is no outdoor space and you access the building electronically. There are no windows (which was a blessing because it is dark and quiet for a good night's sleep). It is steps from the train, bus and ferry terminals as well as close to the best seafood in Scotland. Hang out at an outdoor table at a nearby pub, enjoy the people watching, and go have a good night's rest before your next day's travels.

This was an absolute perfect place to stay in Oban. Room was clean well maintained and super quiet. Wasn't sure about no window given I sleep with the window open at home however the air conditioning/heating system worked perfectly. Didn't wake up stuffy in the morning like would normally do. Can't wait to return 😊

Park in the railway station carpark. The accommodation building is first left in the carpark under the metal stairs. It's £24 for 24 hours parking but worth it as room and parking still is less than most accommodation in Oban which also do not have onsite parking. Onsite parking at hotels is rare to find in Oban and every where else's room rate is double almost, which is a lot more expensive. The location is perfect. I was on the ground floor. Noise not an issue and I went to bed at 11pm and woke at 9am. No disturbance through the night. I will be back.

I had trouble with unlocking the door to my wing and to my room. A kind employee came to my rescue.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable, though so high off the floor that my friend had to use a desk chair to climb in to bed (she also complained that the toilet was too high for comfort). Had there been two people in the room one would have had to climb over the other to use the facilities.The rooms have no natural light and the air conditioning/heating cannot be set below 18C at night. In short, a triumph of trendy design over utility. If following satnav to find the property you go through the barrier for the station and are then charged £12 for a part of the day if it takes in excess of 30 minutes to locate the building and unload. You need a smartphone to access your room (in which is a door key). 24 hour parking by the Premier Inn a couple of streets away is £7.50 (not £5 as stated on the parking leaflet in the stand by the main entry). No food on premises but a Wetherspoon's is nextdoor. Plenty of other places to eat in Oban that are competitively priced.

Great location and price. A minute away from the Green Seafood Shack

Pier rooms offer affordable accommodation in Oban. The room was small but spotless and had everything I needed. There was an issue not getting my email with entry instructions but with a phone call this was quickly resolved. Done the job for a couple of nights. Only staff interaction was on the phone but the people who clean and make up the rooms do a very good job.

Lovely central rooms very quiet and right on pier behind seafood shack and across from westherspoons side door. Air conditioning a must as no windows. Parking we thought would be a nightmare but got on street at other side of ferry terminal free parking. Got new towels and toilet roll from cleaner on request no problem
