Our stay at this hotel began promisingly with a comfortable room, friendly staff, and good food. However, this positive experience took a sharp turn when we returned to find our room door wide open, with all our valuables—electronics, passports, clothing—exposed to anyone who walked by. Given that our room was less than 10 feet from an occupied room and only 50 feet from a restaurant open to the public, this situation was both unsettling and unacceptable. I immediately went to the reception, where the initial response was that housekeeping must still be in the room. This wasn’t the case; the room was empty. Eventually, a manager arrived and explained that an unexpected electrical issue required workmen to access our room throughout the day. Despite having our contact information, the hotel had failed to notify us about this, leaving our belongings vulnerable and exposed. The manager assured us the room was supervised all day, yet we returned to find it entirely unsecured and unattended—a direct contradiction to their assurances. This incident highlighted a complete disregard for guest security. Although we received a half-hearted apology, it was clear that guest safety was not a priority. Had we not been checking out the next day, we would have left immediately. If you value the security of your belongings and peace of mind while traveling, I would strongly advise booking elsewhere.

Absolutely stellar 5 star service. Received a free room upgrade which was a beautiful family suite that was very spacious and clean. Lovely porch with chairs and a nice fire to sit by with other guests, if you choose. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. You can choose to eat at their restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We had a lovely breakfast on the rooftop that had a beautiful view of the ocean. It also had a spa for massages, which we regrettably had no time for. Gorgeous location, quirky but very friendly place. Feels like a second home!

The bungalow is exceptional, set in a stunning beach location. The rooms are superb, very comfortable and all the amenities you need. There is also a large covered outside area in the trees overlooking the beach, with huge sofas and cussions as well as a firepit and braai which is great for relaxing after dinner - only for the use of those staying. There's a very good restaurant and bar open all day and evenings - food is delicious. The staff were also brilliant and could not have been more helpful, keen to go the extra mile, friendly and attentive.

Very good location and excellent staff. I wanted to cancel my stay because of the new level of lockdown, but the property was unwilling to refund my booking. The beach location of the property is probably worth half of the money spent. Our room "The Spot" is at the end of a shared verandah, but being at the very end gives it a little more privacy than the other rooms. It was well furnished, but for a room catering for 6 people, not very well stocked. Only 4 of each of knives, forks, spoons etc, 1 person in our party had to use other "methods"of eating. There were a few cereal bowl and NO plates, none what so-ever. We could not cook as there was not sufficient crockery and when we ordered in, we could only eat out of the take-away containers. There are some minor upkeep and maintenance issues that was a little inconveniencing, but not a deal breaker. Will I stay at the property again? I might consider staying there at a discounted rate, but at the going prices, it is not worth what you pay for. ALL the staff are extremely professional, friendly and well trained and made the stay so much better than I could have been. We will definitely keep our eye on the Bungalow Plettenberg Bay, but we are unlikely to meet again, as the cost does not justify what your get.

We had the family room for four. The room is small but well organized with curtains to separate the parent’s bed. The furniture is quite new. Coffee and tea are available in the room. The breakfast is taken in the morning facing the sea! The bathroom is also very small. It’s ok for one night but would be difficult for a longer stay as there is no place to put your stuff.

Excellent venue right on the beach with spectacular breakfast views. Service and food was exceptional with very friendly staff. We so enjoyed our initial one night stay that we cancelled our business commitments and booked in for another night!

Visitors should be aware that the accommodation should be marketed as an upmarket backpackers, there was no bath as advertised, no TV in each room, that said the venue was great from a location point of view. Avoid the "THE CLIFF FACING" rooms, noisy and small

Fantastic place to stay. The food was over the top. Beach right there and a staff that was only there to please you.

Einfach genial! Lage perfekt am Strand und das optische Design der Unterkunft ist super! Ich würde die Unterkunft sofort wieder buchen. Es war für uns die schönste Unterkunft, die wir während unserer Rundreise hatten!

O hotel é muito charmoso, pé na areia com uma vista incrível para o mar. Super bem localizado. Excelente atendimento, os funcionários são muito prestativos e atenciosos.

We arrived late in the afternoon, but the staff was willing to keep the kitchen open for us so we could eat (we declined but thought it was awesome!). Our room was small but gorgeous. The toilet and shower were located across the hall and was very well appointed. Lovely amenities. Staff couldn't have done more for us. Very friendly, helpful and caring. We just can't say enough about the Bungalow! Excellent food and drinks. Cozy and chic, it had a great vibe. Spent one evening on the upper deck in the big bean-bag chairs sipping wine as the sun sets. Pure heaven! Very secure location. Parking just outside the door which was guarded day and night!
