LOCATION: Situated within the Centro Histórico, Hotel Casa Reais is a 7-min walk from the Catedral de Santiago de Compostela, Hospedería San Martín Pinario, Mercado de Abastos, Praza da Inmaculada, and an 8-min walk from Praza das Platerías and Praza do Obradoiro. STAFF: Helpful, but no 24-hour reception. We were arriving at 8pm, and were sent a message saying reception would close 30 mins ahead of that. I requested the receptionist to wait for us. He kindly did. ROOMS & AMENITIES: Housed in an interesting building, with traditional covered balconies/galerías of Galícia, but suffers from some bad design: the flimsy open shelves in our room were placed directly in front of a large wall-mirror (obstructing the mirror, and – worse – rendering it a hazard in case of a crash). while we were out, the tray with kettle and cups was placed on one of the shelves, our clothes hanging right over it. the beds were freshly made ahead of our arrival, but there was a strand of hair on top of the white linen. the bathroom had no space for a normal-sized sink: the floor around the sink got wet every time one washed one’s hands in the sink. BREAKFAST: A breakfast one can pass up on. The receptionist kindly told us about 2 good cafés nearby: Café Cáscara and Café Adèlia. ACCESSIBILITY: Casa Reais’s greatest strength is its proximity to the Catedral. The hotel is a short distance from the train/coach station, and further away from the airport.

Es un hotel muy pequeño, la recepción un tanto apretada, el personal amable. La habitación bonita. Muy tranquilo. El elevador no llegaba al último puso y me supuso cargar las maletas por la escalera un piso. Creo que le falta oferta de comidas pero realmente para una visita corta está muy bien.

It’s a bit difficult to find but the man on reception was really helpful explaining where the carpark was, coming to the car to get our bags and offering to store our bikes inside. He gave us some restaurant recommendations and drew tourist attractions on the map. Brilliant.

Loved the Proximity to the Cathedral. Our room’s electricity went out in the evening and there was no one to fix it until morning. However it was fixed promptly.

This lovely boutique hotel is within walking distance to all the best things in Santiago. The lovely balcony is a nice spot to drink coffee and watch the pilgrims come into Santiago. Bed is very comfy and the shower is high tech! Definitely take time to use the message chair in the lobby.

O hotel é super bem localizado. O hotel fica logo na rua de cima por volta de 16€ por dia ! O café da manhã é bem fraco e a recepção é só até as 20h00. Porém todos foram incrivelmente gentis.

Super nice and in a Perfect location. Parking garage about 100m away. Great Double windows for sound proofing (happy crowds below enjoying the town to the dawn hours). Laundry around the corner and lots of breakfast places close by while you wait. The room is well maintained and fitted.

Lindo hotel. Habitación comoda y amplia. Buena ubicacion para estar en zona tranquila pero de rápido acceso al centro histórico. Parking cercano al hotel.

The space was tight but the bed was really comfy and the shower was great. Lots of eateries outside and a market nearby. The staff helped us get a taxi to the airport.
