Hill Pride City Hotel

Overall I am quite happy with my stay. Read about the water pressure problem in the reviews and was a little apprehensive at first. Turns out the water pressure was very good, at least in the 2 rooms my and my friend were staying in. Some room for improvement in the administration but I'm sure it will be better the next time I visit the hotel. I'll likely stay again when I come to the area again.

Just outstanding in every way. The staff was wonderful, the breakfast and attention to detail amazing. The room was terrific. Walking distance to Victoria Park and downtown. Just wonderful. We highly recommend this place.

Hot water is on and off. Very cold at night (no ac), they gace my a heater. A 10 min walk to center (not a nice walk at night)

We only stayed for one night. It was a perfectly serviceable hotel for our purposes--a place to rest that was clean, had helpful staff, and a comfortable bed.

One night that we spent there was something to forget. Main disappointments listed below : 1) No proper entrance to Hotel and no Car parking. 2) No elevators in the Hotel. Had to Climb 2 staircases after a long tiring journey. 3) The TV did not work. 4) No intercom facility in the Room. 5) The untrained staff tried to fix the TV problem, and wasted 1 hour of our time, but had to ask them to leave the room finally, as we were getting frustrated. The staff does not understand English. 6) Rooms are very small with not enough space to keep 2 large suitcases... very cramped up 7) Mosquitoes in the Room 8) The electricity went off frequently and there was no candle or battery lamp provided. 9) Due to the wind, there was some noise being heard all night which was very disturbing... was probably a door / window banging due to the wind. 10) Shower water did not have any force, and the knob which lets the water flow from the shower was loose, so water did not flow from the shower. One hand had to be kept on that knob constantly. 11) Hot water was intermittently coming without any force during morning time when guests in other room were probably also having bath. 12) No great view from the room. 13) To compensate for the inconvenience, the Manager offered to provide us free desert. But the desert was not good at all. We just had one bite of the desert and left the remaining. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO SPOIL YOUR HOLIDAY !!

This is a nice, basic hotel with everything you need if you are not a luxury traveler. The rooms have everything you need but not as clean as hoped. The shower stream strength was not too good but the bed was comfortable. Location wise, this hotel is a little bit away, but walkable, from the race course / Victoria Park. The road leading up to it is pretty dark at night. But overall a decent stay if you are here for a day or two.

Good welcome from staff and room upgrade as hotel was quiet. All the staff were friendly and helpful Room was well furnished, but bathroom was cramped and access difficult. Breakfast was poor value. The dinner menu did not suit us, so we ate out. There was a problem with water supply to our room, that disrupted having a shower in the evening. The manager was very apologetic, and reduced the price in compensation.

A neat clean hotel with great service overall. Excellent breakfast. Rooms were tiny though and not well equipped. It was freezing and there were no heaters in the room. Also only enough hot water for 1 person to shower . Given this is in a cold part of the country surely heaters and more hot water would be a basic requirement. Expensive for what you get compared to our 3 prior hotels in other parts of SL on our tour. In fact it was certainly the smallest and least equipped hotel on our trip.

A very warm-hearted, comfortable and clean house with a gourgeous manager and a wonderful team. We really enjoyed our stay here!

We stayed just 2 nights. Hotel not easy to find but once you do find it you can walk in 30 minutes to main attractions in this city. Basic hotel, nothing special about it. No heating so if you travel in a period when is cold it will be quite cold to sleep three, although you can ask for extra blankets.

Nice hotel, a bit out of the way, we had not realised that restaurant was not open for dinner, however staff organised a free lift into town for us!

Hotel had no boarding room option for our driver so had to pay out of pocket for another location for our driver. (Our other 5 hotels where we stayed on our trip had boarding options for free). Hotel staff lacked sense of caring or empathy towards us. Hotel was dirty, and didn't feel clean. It's location wasn't ideal either. We had 2 rooms, and one of them hadn't been stocked properly with toiletries. No elevator. Bad view. One of the room's didn't seem to have working AC.

Hotel liegt Zentrums-Nahe - 15min zu Fuß erreichbar, Gegend ist ruhig; Team ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit - sind extra für Frühstückspakete für Wanderung um 4 aufgestanden; Im Februar ist es kühl in den Zimmern aber es gibt Tee und Überdecken die helfen; Zimmer sind sauber aber obwohl das Hotel recht neu ist bereits einige Schäden in den Zimmern. Das stört allerdings nicht weiter, für den günstigen Preis ist die Leistung absolut in Ordnung! Für Nuwara Eliya genau das richtige Hotel!

Hotel was clean and comfortable with a friendly staff. It's close to Victoria Park and the city centre - within walking distance or a quick tuk-tuk ride. Freshly prepared breakfast was quite good.

Avoid this place at all cost!! No heating or hot water!! Hotel descriptions listed the hotel having air conditioning but there's was absolutely no heating. Also, hot water turned off after 5 mins and ended up showering in ice cold water!! A complete nightmare!

Conveniently placed for access to the centre of town and several attractions such as Botanical Gardens, Gregory Lake, Lovers Leap Falls, Horton Planes and Pedro Tea Plantation

Management was very friendly. Hotel located far away from any cafe or restaurant, all shops and cafes closing very early and no room service available in the hotel on evening time. Breakfast was average. Room was small and very cold. Housekeeping service not good, cleaning staff very lazy. Difficult to have a shower due to low pressure.
