Hotel Lagoon Paradise

Arrived after a long flight from Australia at 1.30am. The gates were closed and the place was in darkness. Our taxi driver tried ringing and banging on the gates but to no avail. We had to go to another hotel and pay slot more. Not happy about this.

It probably had better days because it’s a very big property. It is quite isolated and the Uber driver had a hard time to find it. But the staff is incredibly sweet and ready to go above and beyond for the customers. Such nice people. It was for one night because I couldn’t make my flight, and was so tired I didn’t realize how far from the airport it was. Food is good and abundant.

Gamini (the owner) was so friendly and helpful with every need. He answered any question and did much more than you can expect from a hotel service. The staff in general was super friendly and polite and the food was great. Probably the best food in town! A quick ride to the surfkite Lagoon and right next to the bus station. Great experience and i would totally recommend this place!

Overall we had a good experience at this hotel because the staff (Banda) was an awesome guy who looked after us so well!! The location is out of the way the menu was limited the wifi not great rooms are good no amenities though only soap no fridge or kettle however the property has a beautiful outdoor area with pool and we were really looked after well by the helpful staff. Value for what we paid was great.

Wat een vies en sterk verouderd hotel. Vlekken en gaten in de bedlakens, groen zwembad, alleen kousmd douchewater. Afstandsbediening van de airco moest bij de receptie blijven, omdat ze er niet genoeg hadden Hotel niet aan het strand, en lagoon niet zwembaar. Slechte locatie dus. Het strand van Negombo is prima en daar liggen uitstekende hotels.

Falling apart, mosquito ridden. Poor value for the Negambo area. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Very bad experience that lead me to return back on second day after my arrival.

Hotellet var OK men det var ganska avlägset samt väldigt få gäster vilket gav känslan av att det var lite öde..

Nous sommes arrivés à 4h00 du matin, aucun nettoyage de la chambre était fait, une ÉNORME coquerelle était devant notre lit, pas de serviettes, pas de savon, ni de verre, ni de cafetière ni bouilloire, une petite couverture pour 1 lit simple alors que nous avions 2 lits simples, un filet d'eau sortait de la douche, et pour l'eau chaude, fallait savoir qu'il faut peser sur un bouton pour l'obtenir 20 minutes plus tard.

Mysigt ställe!

Arrivés a 4h00 du matin, une coquerelle nous attendait droite devant le lit, énorme, la chambre n'était pas propre, ni préparée. Aucune literie, pas de serviettes, pas de verre d'eau, pas de savon, pas de clim., pas de manette pour la TV, une simple petite couverture pour un lit simple alors que nous avions 2 lits simples, pas de cafetiere, pas de bouilloire, RIEN. Nous avons quitté notre chambre en PM, nous demandons un remboursement des 2 nuitées payées d'avance, le prix demandé ne vaut pas du tout ce que nous avons eu. Il n'y avait aucun client dans l'hôtel. Il demandait 15$ US pour la clim. + 7$ US pour le petit déjeuner, ca ne vaut pas cela! Nous avons téléphoné 3 fois pour demander de nous rembourser, nous avons envoyé un avis par courriel.... allez-vous nous répondre et rembourser?

Lovely people who couldn't help more. Area is not near anything local so not great for long stay but fantastic for stop off after airport.

Meget skuffende oplevelse. Dette hotel virkede som om det ikke var i normal drift. Der var mega langt til indkøb og selve hotellet tog gigantiske overpriser for mad og drikker. Vi gav 1000 Rupees pr. morgenmadsret hvilket er LAAAAANGT over hvad man ellers giver andre steder. Alt i alt en ret dårlig oplevelse. Hotelpersonalet var dog søde og hjælpsomme, selvom de ikke kunne ret meget engelsk.

Well managed and good staff. Food was good and I highly recommend the eastern breakfast. Rooms are basic and are best for adventure travelers, backpackers, budget travelers, etc.

Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food and drink was great and location and view superb. Rooms are simple and may disappoint those looking for amenities, soft towels and new decor, but are fine for backpacker, budget travelers and adventure travelers like me. Only 15 minutes from airport.

Rooms should come with airconditioning included in the price. This is not a cold environment, why give option? The bed spring is too soft and bad for elderly people and those with back problem. I had to pay for the rooms inspite of being away for three days.

Det ligger meget øde, ingen muligheder for at finde en lille kiosk. Vi var de eneste på hotellet og værelserne lugtede fugtigt. Det virkede gammelt og vi måtte også skifte værelse da alt strømmen gik. Hotel pris var alt for høj i forhold til standard. Dog var poolen og personalet rigtig godt og de forsøgte at gøre det så godt de kunne !
