Very friendly staff. Traditional food was delicious. Large rooms. AC, ceiling fans, Hot water facility. Large bathroom (need some upgrading). Overall a good stay. Will use this hotel again.

The hotel was a very famous in Jaffna about five decades ago.

very good breakfast, help full staff, clean , nice big room and very close to town centre. Evening meal according to our requirement and very supportive management.

Surrounding was dirty, lot of mosquitoes,asked the front desk to spray our room which they did. The front desk spoke a little English. It’s very difficult to communicate with them . Be prepared to bring your own toiletries. I won’t be back . All pictures shown in the Expedia were deceiving. What you see in the pictures were wrong.

Need more maintenance

Subhas hotel is a great place to stay in Jaffna. It is located in the heart of the town and well-connected to other parts of the Peninsula and to the South by train and bus. The owners and staff were very friendly and always there to help us out. We definitely recommend Subhas hotel and look forward to return in the future! Thanks for a nice stay!

The staff were absolutely amazing. Always there from check in to check out to make sure I was well looked after. Everyone had a wonderful smile that always made it a lovely environment. Aircon was great and room spacious.

バスターミナルからスーツケースを転がしながら１０分掛からない程度の距離。ジャフナ駅からもバスターミナル程は近くは無いが、歩ける距離。トゥクトゥクに乗った方が無難だけど。 部屋は冷蔵庫が無いのは残念だけど、へｙ｀の清掃も行き届いているし、寝るだけなら何の問題も無い。

Great stay in one historic hotel of Jaffna

Since the end of the civil war in 2009, many new hotels have emerged in Jaffna, providing more accommodation options for visitors. I chose to stay at Subhas Hotel to relive some nostalgic memories, and while my experience was a unique one, I thought it worth sharing for those considering a visit. For travelers from outside the northern region of Sri Lanka, it’s essential to manage expectations. The “deluxe room” provided me with air conditioning and a clean bed, which was a welcome relief. However, the amenities had their quirks—the shower in the washroom was not functional, requiring me to use a bucket and bowl for bathing. Additionally, while there was a toilet roll in the room, the lack of modern conveniences like toilet paper was notable. Breakfast was complimentary and adequate, though the room's windows lacked proper blackout curtains, allowing bright light to filter in during the early morning hours. On a positive note, the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, attending to all of my requests with warmth and efficiency. I do not intend to deliver a negative review; rather, I aim to provide an honest depiction of the accommodations for those unfamiliar with the region. If you’re looking to connect with Jaffna’s history and culture, Subhas Hotel is worth considering. However, if you are accustomed to contemporary hotel standards, you may want to explore other options in the area. Enjoy your stay in Jaffna!
