Wasantha Garden Hotel

We stayed with 2 families for a week at Wasantha's Garden Hotel. We both had a spacious family room upstairs and shared a large terrace. The beach (coconut point) is just a 5 min walk from the hotel and there is an area surrounded by a reef which is safe for swimming. The surfers were a bit further out on the sea, surfing the big ocean waves, which is a pleasure to watch! Wasantha also has a spa (make sure you have a massage!) and a restaurant. The hotel itself is off the main road, so at night it is very quiet. Wasantha is very friendly and helpful. He arranged our surf lessons in Weligama, at the Island point surf school - the waves are not as high so it's ideal for beginners and children. During the day it is a lively neighborhood, with several guest houses, small restaurants and local vendors. A tuk tuk to Weligama is a 10 min. ride. We had a great week!
