Lovely views, friendly welcoming staff, felt like I was home :) The walk is steep but worth it.

The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The rooms were small, but clean, cute, and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The view from the terrace was amazing. I'll definitely come back.

There's no doubt about it, the location and view of the mountains from our apartment was exceptional and that is what we paid for. I'm fairly sure that some of the rooms had been upgraded, but not our room. The bathroom door was frosted, heavy and so noisy that you had to hang on to it to open and close it. But it didn't end there...there was zero water pressure and very cold water. I had to take a bath instead of a shower so that I could get some lukewarm water to sit in. This was changed after I complained about it...and then it was scalding hot. The room needs major upgrading. I noticed that the apartment next to us had carpet on the floor which this place absolutely needed. And super tiny. I didn't even bother unpacking my suitcase even though we were scheduled to stay for 5 nights. We ended up leaving a day early. Please note that most of the places in Grindelwald will have a good view of the Eiger if they are on the side facing the mountains...you don't need to climb a hill to get that view. On the positive side...Carolina and staff...they were wonderful! The breakfast was excellent. I can't say enough good things about how efficient, helpful and kind they were. I would return if Carolina and her coworkers were there, but I'd ask for a different room.

First the main picture of a beautiful lake and mountain view is not from or near the hotel. The hotel is located on top of a hill without direct car access. Need to park and then hike 30 degree uphill for 5 minutes to reach the door. One of the heater missing control knob but fixed the following day. There are sharp edge at bed and easy to get hurt in this tight room. The toilet bowl is right next to the shower drain pan that the corner of the drain pan make it uncomfortable to sit down. It is hard to describe though. The breakfast staff is nice and friendly. But the location and property do noy justiy the cost.

Lovely hotel. Great staff and breakfast and fantastic view of mountains. Just know that the 15 min walk from rail station is up the side of a steep mountain and it’s a car free area so no taxi and no hotel transport. Travel light.

My fantastic experience staying here – like many of the hotels, though in Grindelwald, there is a bit of a climb up the hill to get to the hotel. The hotel itself is well run and has excellent facilities. Very highly recommended.

Wunderschöner Blick auf die Berge und Personal, das wirklich bemüht ist, dass man sich wohlfühlt. Frühstücksbüffet war reichhaltig und selbst das gepackte Frühstück zum Mitnehmen (früher Start) konnte sich wirklich sehen lassen. Wichtig zu wissen: Man sollte körperlich fit sein, da der Weg zum Hotel durchaus steil ist und das letzte Stück nur zu Fuß möglich ist

Beautiful view! We loved the location and being able to walk to restaurants and just enjoy the beauty around us.

Great little get away. Caution: its a long walk uphill. Not easy for the eldery or those who are handicapped

Lovely property with homely feel and walkable to Grindelwald town and all it offers. Not all rooms have a view (ours didn't), and it is steep walk from the car park which is worth considering if you have limited mobility.

Nice place.

Nice, attentive staff. Pleasant room. Good breakfast buffet. But the climb up a steep hill w luggage is not for anyone who is not in good cardio condition.

We only stayed one night and it was perfect! Our key was waiting at the front desk, lovely room, good size, comfortable and with a balcony and view! Breakfast starts at 7:30, and it was perfect too, with a lovely view! Fresh bread, trouts, local cheeses and meats! A wonderful stay at a chalet! We drove, there’s a small parking and then you need to walk a little uphill with the bags to reach the hotel. Totally worth it!

The view from our room/balcony was priceless, very clean with daily service, excellent breakfast, very friendly hosts and staff. Authentic Swiss chalet . The path to reach is very steep, do not bring large suitcases.

Very nice staff. Walking distance from train station. The breakfast is very nice. The condition is a bit old, but all hotels in Grindelwald would probably the same.

Geweldig leuk en authentiek hotel in Grindelwald. Lekkere kamer met uitzicht op de Eiger, koffie/thee op de kamer, nette douche en prima bed. Balkon erbij was helemaal tof. Ontbijt dik in orde, je kan een ei laten klaarmaken zoals je wilt. Mensen zijn suoer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ligt wel wat hoger op de berg dus een flinke klim maar dat maakt t ook rustiger.

Be prepared to hike up the mountain, no transport options available from Grindelwald train station. Worth the hike!
