Lawns Hotel

Loved our stay at the Lawns Hotel! Situated walkable to all you need in Lushoto and close by all the trails we wanted to trek up! The pool area is adorable and we truly felt like we were part of the jungle. Would recommend! They also have a refillablle water bottle station (with clean water!) which is sooo much better than the constant water bottles you have to throw away!

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und die Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Allerdings gab es keine Moskitonetze, die aber definitiv nötig wären. Unser eigens mitgebrachtes Netz wurde jeden Tag von der Decke gerissen. Das war nicht in Ordnung, daher für Ausstattung und Personal leider etwas Abzug.

Wonderful stay - clean rooms, nice food and shared areas including bar, terrace and garden with beautiful plants and flowers. Friendly and helpful staff. Traffic noise due to location but still a peaceful, relaxed feel. WiFi iffy but this has been the same in a few places. Would definitely stay again - a real haven.

Nice area , friendly staff, no water presion, breakfast and food was good , but the last day when we lieve they wehere match to late , so we dident had breakfast before ouer 8 houer trip .

The hotel has a great view and very friendly staff. There is tour company office on/near the grounds where you can book tours of the nearby area. The hotel will help you out to book them in advance of check-in. The restaurant serves delicious food, and the rooms are spacious. Lushoto can be chilly, especially at night. The only negative we encountered was low water pressure in the shower, and controlling the shower temperature was difficult. This seems to be common in hotels in rural Tanzania.

This hotel is set amid a lush garden at about 4,000 feet elevation. The cool weather is welcome relief from the warmer, more humid weather along the coast. The room was large, the staff were friendly, and the food was good.

The Lawns is a delighful and charming place to spend a few days. My family and I all enjoyed our stay very much. The staff, the management and the food were all great. The rooms are simple and relatively spartan, but comfortable and great value for money. We'd be only too happy to go back and stay again.

Beautifully restored old pub and hotel from colonial times. Great staff and food. Fully stocked bar!

Wir waren im Dez 2020 da. Das erste Zimmer war bescheiden, aber wir konnten in ein wunderbares Bungalo wechseln wo wir uns sehr wohl fühlten. Aufmerksames freundliches Personal, gute Verpflegung, herrlich grüne Umgebung mit vielen Blumen und Kameleone. Ort zum Verweilen und doch stadtnah.

Early cooked breakfast even at 5.30am on three mornings. Pleasant and spacious rooms. Very helpful staff. The only location, where it was possible to find effective WIFI was in reception.

We arrived at Lawns for a long weekend of celebrations and were warmly welcomed. The rooms are very comfortable, with a large shower. There's a large TV with satellite channels in the common area, a library, a games room, and a large balcony overlooking a small valley. Kids are not forgotten as there is a playground for them in the garden. Overall, I was impressed with Lawns, and I'd gladly stay there during future trips to Lushoto.

La ubicación muy buena, se puede caminar hasta el pueblo en un momento. La habitación tiene lo básico un poco deteriorado. El desayuna muy bueno, variado y abundante. El personal muy amable.

This was my second time staying at the Lawns Hotel. The first time was booked as part of an organised tour but I liked it so much than when I came back to Tanzania I decided to go via Lushoto and stay at the Lawns Hotel. The staff, especially Deborah and the barman (sorry, I've forgotten his name!), are fabulous; the food is incredible (I'd definitely recommend staying around for dinner); the view is beautiful and it's in such a lovely and peaceful location. The facilities are great as well, it's really nice having a few different areas to chill out like the bar, the terrace, the lounge and the games room. As far as the rooms go, the bungalows are smaller than the standard rooms and the furniture and fireplaces in the standard rooms are beautiful and really cosy.

Lawns Hotel is the perfect place to stay in Lushoto! It's 5 minutes from the main section of town, but feels private and has a stunning mountain view. The staff are lovely and attentive, the food's great, the rooms are attractive and clean and the main lodge/bar/patio area is a comfortable and welcoming space. I even extended my stay, enjoying the accommodation and the beauty of the area immensely. Can't recommend it highly enough.

As many guests already mentioned, Lawns hotel was a great place to visit. We spent three days including new year's day and made many unforgettable memories there. It is a good base to explore surrounding areas. We went to Mambo view on our second day and Irente View on third day by car. Mambo view is great but 4 hours of driving (round trip) was a bit too much for us with two children. Irente view point was good enough for us, but we are happy to experience both. Nice dinner on your choice (25000 Tsh for adult and 15000 Tsh for child) and delicious breakfast included. We highly recommend this place for parents with young children.
