This has to be the most idyllic place to stay. The staff are so attentive and friendly. The room staff are like fairies you never see them you leave your room it’s tidied cleaned and notes and treats left. Our go to place for chilling

Chongfah hotel is a delightful, small (30’ish rooms) oceanfront hotel, with easy side access to the beach. All the hotel staff were friendly, helpful & gave that lovely Thai warmth that makes you feel at home. Our room was spacious & beautifully clean, which was no easy task with all the sand. Serviced twice daily. The location was great - come out of the hotel & turn right, it’s a short walk to the busy, touristy town. Turn left out of the hotel and at there are a smaller selection of more local restaurants, beach bars & places for a massage. We particularly enjoyed Bobby’s beach bar, Chicken House restaurant and The One Time Thai Massage (adjacent to Bobby’s). At low tide, you can walk for 2.5miles along the beach, wading across a couple of estuaries, past the big, chain hotels, to the ‘lighthouse’. For a small fee (20 baht) there is a raft service to cross the first (& deepest) estuary, at high tide. It is also possible to walk along the more beautiful, quieter beach in the other direction at low tide. After a storm earlier in the year, it is not quite so straightforward but worth it. There is a sea defence / retaining wall in front of the hotel so to access, turn left out of the hotel onto the road & walk to the end, passed Bobby’s beach bar & The One More Thai massage. Would definitely recommend Chongfah hotel & would happily stay again.

Perfect smaller resort beautiful staff helped us immensely nothing was a problem. Probably the best beachside property we have stayed at In Thailand over the thirty odd years we have been coming. Beach is very clean with minimal plastic as is the property and rooms . There are cheaper options here but the savings are in the location.

Outstanding service

The staff were exceptional. The accommodation was lovely and comfortable. It was only a few minutes walk to local restaurants, bars and the night market.

Relaxing holiday. It's a few minutes walk to the restaurants and shops in Khao Lak, but the hotel was very nice. They don't have a direct beach access, so you can't walk to the beach restaurants until in the afternoon when the tide is low. The closest restaurant by the same name is not very good and also the hotel's food was bland, but breakfast was good. The staff was really friendly!

Lovely hotel in lots of ways

A gem. All the staff were amazing and always smiled. Most spoke some English. The front desk staff were particularly helpful in arranging for us to be picked up at the airport with our name on a sign and upgraded us to a beachfront bungalow. This made our trip. Beds were the most comfortable in Thailand and real coffee in the room. Great location and easy to walk a to stores, restaurants. The resort is on the ocean but to swim or do long walks you need to walk less than 5 minutes. This was not a problem for us. Breakfast buffet one of the best we have had in Thailand.

Not at all a bad resort in any way. The rooms are spacious and have a good design, breakfast is above average for Thailand and the staff is service minded and friendly. The resort was probably considered a luxuary resort 20 years ago but today it is quite outdated with old style furnitures and amenities and is clearly not worth 230 euros per night (room rate), not in Europe and especially not in Thailand. At this level it really comes in at the bottom end on a price-to-quality scale. If you want luxuary look at the nearby resorts and if you want value there are many other better options.

Great place to enjoy some quiet time. The "beach" doesn't really exist, as it's some sand on top of a seawall. Don't expect to get in the ocean here. The pool is beautiful though, and the restaurant served delicious food, including the freshest coconuts we had in Thailand!
