Nemasu Eco-Lodge

We loved our week long stay at Nemasu eco lodge.Its in a beautiful setting, right next to the beach.In the middle of gardens and palm trees, with monkeys and birds. Is a local lodge with the benefits going to local people.Staff very helpful and will organise trips for you.Food good .Lodges are large and comfy with a veranda for relaxing

I just come back from my holiday in |Nemasu. Good for a short stay. Very basic but its ok. Beautiful beach , which should remain unspoilt. Unfortunately there is plenty of rubbish. Food is excellent cooked from the scratch, always fresh and very tasty. Staff very friendly. In my review I want to show my gratitude and respect to people , who made it possible. People behind the closed doors, a couple from the USA, who changed the lives of many Gambians. Frankly speaking I am very moved and touched by the act of your generosity . What a beautiful gesture to another human being. You made a significant changes in their lives. And you made it possible for us Europeans to enjoy the serenity of African nature.And it is a real beauty , the beauty of human heart,cannot be seen by our senses ,can only be felt by the heart. Thank you again and God bless you.

A beautiful beach front eco-resort with solid service and rustic huts. Enjoyed the stay and would consider a repeat visit.

Das Hotel is ökologisch Spitzenreiter, leider ist dadurch aber die Ausstattung reduziert, kein AC, kein Entertainment, kein heißes Wasser, meist auch kein Internet. Also für Ruhe suchenden Menschen, Perfekt

Nemasu is definitely what I call paradise, cannot fault it at all, the staff were fantastic, the food from the restaurant just amazing, all local fresh produce. The rooms are very comfortable, clean all you need. A big thankyou to all the staff for looking after me throughout my stay, have never stayed in such a wonderful place.

An amazing place ruined by a chinese factory poluting the air. We feel sorry for the locals living there. The ecolodge is great but we left after one night.

Lovely relaxed lodge with friendly helpful staff.

Fantastic, calm and comfortable eco lodge right at the beach seemingly far away from all trouble. While at first I was wary at the lack of AC, the wind cooled our ocean view house in a very adequate way. Long, undisturbed beach with resting cows, playing friendly stray dogs and wild ocean. The nearby fish plant gives a very strong fish smell for a few hours in the afternoon if the wind is such - this would be the only unpleasant moment of our stay. Great food that you will want to pay for - budget a little more than you would in more urban places such as Bakau. Friendly staff, run by an obviously dedicated wish to better both environment and conditions for locals. All in all a lovely place worth coming back to!

I have just arrived back from an amazing stay in The Gambia at Nemasu.This Lodge is spectacular,a really special place.I have so many great things to say about Nemasu,the wonderful,exceptionally helpful and friendly staff and beautify traditional very private room/ lodge.The views from my lodge and the rest of ground were phenomenal.Beautiful blue skys and water/sea all around.The private beach is secluded, quiet and clean.The beach bar is great, very handy for lazy/ relaxing days.Great service from all the bar and the beautiful traditional resturant too.The food and drinks at Nemasu is excellent.I have eaten from chefs all around the world and l can say the food at Nemasu is the best l have ever had in my life.I have many dietary food and drink restrictions for health reasons. Nemasu were great, the chef cooked my meals separately from other guests/customers many times and the great, healthy,diverse menu of foods and drinks/teas allowed me to eat and drink all holiday without any health issues,which is a first for me!.The few times/days l did feel ill, the staff were so helpful and made me teas,checked on me and gave me local remedies to help.I was so grateful and touched by this as l was travelling alone and down to the owner (Hillary),the manager(Seedy), the great massage therapist (Isha) and all the other great,excellent staff at Nemasu,always did so much to make me feel/get better.It was paradise, l thank Nemusu for a holiday of a lifetime and look forward to returning.

Wspaniałe miejsce do wypoczynku. Personel bardzo uczynny, restauracja na miejscu OK. Ośrodek bezpieczny i pilnowany przez personel. Bardzo miły kontakt z przyrodą. Plaża dobrze zorganizowana (leżaki parasole). Kameralna atmosfera, świetny relaks.

sehr schön und romantisch, wer ohne Klimaanlage und Steckdose klarkommt ist hier an einem Traumstrand mit sehr netten Leuten und einer fantastischen Umgebung sehr glücklich.

Very comfortable Ecolodge with access to a beautiful beach.

Wir sind zufällig auf diese Lodge gestoßen und aus 2 Nächten wurden 8😀 Sehr ruhige, entspannte Lodge direkt am Meer ohne viel Trubel und anderen Touristen. Auch das Personal ist freundlich und mehr als hilfsbereit. Bestens zu empfehlen! Lena & Lukas

I traveled alone looking for some time to relax and introspection, by chance I found Nemasu ecolodge, nobody adviced me to go, never heard about but it turned out to be the perfect place. Peaceful, quite, veeeery nice staff, impressive food, beach, nature, different activities to do, and everything for a fair price. I have been thinking unsuccesfully in something they could improve, there is nothing. One more time, thank you so much to all Nemasu staff, you are the main reason my trip to The Gambia was worthy. PS No, no they didnt pay me to write this review...hahaha

Nice comfortable beach lodge located at the beach with good restaurant. Wifi works ok in some spots.

Nemasu ecolodge is een hele fijne kleinschalig lodge aan een supermooi en schoon strand. Het klimaat is er in december ideaal, droge lucht, geen muggen, Het personeel doet er alles aan om het gasten naar de zin te maken met o.a. Kampvuur in de avonden. We hebben het er heel fijn gehad.

This is a very eco Friendly lodge with beautiful huts. Don't expect hotel facilities as it is all 100% eco. Limited power, wifi and no tossing paper in the toilets... That having said, we would not have wanted to stay anywhere else; if we were to go back we would go here again for sure! Very friendly staff that go out of their way to help you.

A peaceful and relaxing location, away from the main road, at night you can enjoy the sounds of the waves and the forest. The budget rooms are simple yet comfortable, with shared open air shower and toilets are a short walk way. a beautiful and relatively quite beach. Regular evening entertainment including drumming, dancing and fire. It is also easy enough to arrange something more active either through Nemasu's tour options or independently using public transport.

De kamers zijn zeer net en leuk en gezellig ingericht Het personeel is de "echte" grote waarde van de lodge ! Het is een hecht team en ze zijn allemaal zeer service georiënteerd Er zijn veel verschillende tours die zij organiseren - zeker een aanrader is de fiets en boot tocht en de verschillende markten en vissers dorpjes
