My wife and I wanted to take a break from Oahu and booked Aaron’s Cottage for 2 nights. It was perfect being only a few miles from the airport, near Hilo town, nice beaches a short walk up the road. We booked cottage #5 and it was the best. Everything was clean and fresh!
Definitely staying there the next time we come back.
What a cute cottage in the heart of hilo bay. Super clean, well taken care of and private. I never heard my neighbors talking or tv on. Only draw back was the check in process. I booked this stay last min coming from kona and it took me about 30 min to figure out that there was no front desk. You get a text or email with instructions on how to enter the unit. Housekeeping never came to my room to replace my towels even when i texted them that i needed towels. So i just grabbed towels myself from the laundry facility behind my cottage. If u need to do laundry you can but it cost $5 a load. Other than that the shower toilet and sink was all in one room with no separation. If you gotta do #2 the whole room will smell like it. I recommend getting those Downey small room air freshners if u plan on staying more than 1 night cause it gets rid of all smells.
Aaron's Cottage was a great place to stay. It's near the Hilo Bay shore and practically next door to a beautiful public beach park. The owner worked with me on a self check-in so that I could arrive at 11:30 pm. The in-room fridge was nice to have and was supplemented by a nearby communal kitchen with a larger fridge, cooktop, microwave, and toaster. The on-site trees coupled with the ocean breeze kept the room comfortable, but there was a small air conditioner for warmer times of the day. Aaron's Cottage is on a quiet dead end street but still within minutes of downtown amenities. The wifi is very good. My room had a nice Roku television, but why go to Hawaii to watch TV? Skip the glitz and choose simpler amenities with a relaxing atmosphere.
