Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge

Sunnyside is a gorgeous older property right on the lake. The room was comfortable, the shower fantastic (awesome water pressure), and the views spectacular.

Home away from home in Tahoe, can’t wait to come back. The staff feels like family the minute we walked in. The food was high quality and interesting choices. Love the nightly tea and hot chocolate.

Cleanliness was good, but upkeep of the premises is concerning. Roof needs cleaning of debris, flashings are missing, broken items are stashed at the side of the building and can be seen from some tables, covers on electrical mechanisms are missing, carpet is old and dirty in entrance area, etc. Going out of business soon? It would be a shame as it is a lovely place. Owners need to spruce it up.

Went for our anniversary. It was a beautiful property on the water. The only downfall is we didn’t have a designated parking spot for lodge guest. Due to lack of parking had to park down the road and walk.

Beautiful view right on the water. The room was clean and inviting. The bathroom was nice and had space to put our toiletries. I did wish they had a vanity mirror with better light for doing makeup. Water pressure in the shower was not great, I’m glad I didn’t need to wash my hair. The beds were ok, but it could be time for new ones or maybe they were just too firm for us both. I’m not sure if it was where our room was but we could hear every foot step up and down the hallway and door slam. It seemed like thin walls and just an older building where you can hear your neighbors shower schedule. We did not get a chance to having dinner as they are only open at 4pm, definitely missed out on this. Nice selection of complimentary breakfast and coffee/tea. They also had a great little espresso maker in the room. They were very nice at check in and offered us some sparking wine for the birthday we were celebrating. Friendly and easy check in and out.

We always love our stay at Sunnyside. Great staff and jazz piano music for breakfast. Not a fan of the evening music though.

17 mins drive to the slops at Olimpic run - good thing.

Well maintained rustic inn on the lakefront.

Unfortunately our room was not ready at the 3:00 pm checkin time. They told us it would be ready in 30 minutes and we waited in the restaurant at the lodge, however, our room was not ready until 5:00 pm. It was very inconvenient for my child and I to have to wait two hours at the hotel to check in as we were very tired and wanted to relax and clean up. The food in the hotel restaurant was just ok, not great.

Everything was great! Highly recommend Sunnyside!

It was such a nice friendly, cozy winter escape. The cookies and tea were a nice treat! My 7 year old and I ate cookies and played Battleship from the quaint games cabinet. It was a fun winter escape for my daughter and I. Will definitely come back!

Nice property with Lake front. Good size balcony that we can see the sun rise and sunset. A glass of welcome champagne is wonderful. Nice afternoon tea and cookies. Breakfast is good. The only thing is the hotel has no elevator if you have heavy luggage; otherwise it is a very good location, comfortable room with plenty space. Highly recommended.

All staff members we interacted with had great customer service. They were all extremely helpful. The breakfast bar was set up so you could easily see what was available and I loved the freedom of taking it to my room to enjoy on the balcony. The coffee, tea and cookie bar in the afternoon was a nice treat as well. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we are already making plans to return with our family.

This place is fantastic. Nothing else necessary to say.
